Ballista Heavy Fighter

The Ballista Heavy Fighter is primarily a ground-attack configuration, sporting the maximum number of every kind of weapon available on the SV platform - but it is also nimble enough to dogfight with other fighters. It is inexpensive, compact in the hangar, and quick to build, but has two primary drawbacks -

First, the cockpit is in the front, which means it can't tank damage. If you're in combat, you need to be dodging. Constantly.

Secondly, it has no warp drive, so it is strictly carrier/base dependent.

However, it is easily mass produced and several can be packed side by side in the space that would only fit one or two more conventional designs.
