Introduction
Hello fellow Tenno.

This guide is meant to help with basic gun- and sword-play.

Suggestions are always appreciated, send me a message, or go on Warframe Alerts' chat room to message me.

Please note that this is a work in progress until otherwise stated, and may have grammatical errors, and may not have up to date pictures. I will be updating this whenever I can, or feel like.

Enjoy
Swordplay
In Warframe, every Tenno has a sword.

To use them, press E. To use a slower, but more powerful attack, hold E, and release at the desired time. It will automatically swing after a short time, however.

Advanced Attacks

Airstomp (AoE Attack) : To use, simply jump, and press E. You will hit the ground, and knock down most enemies in a small radius. Use this to clear a path, stun tough enemies, and to set enemies up for finishers.

Slide Attack (Spin Attack) : To use, slide, and press E. This attack does slightly more than a uncharged swing, and will hit multiple enemies.

Stealth Attack (Ninja Backstab) : This attack is conditional.

  • 1: There must not be an alarm. When Lotus says "You've been spotted!", you can no longer do this.

  • 2: The enemy you are trying to kill cannot be aware of you or your teammates.

To do this, sneak up behind someone, I prefer to crouch, and wait until a "Press E to Stealth Attack" pop-up appears, then hit E. You will stab the enemy in the back, and do a little flourish with your sword, and it will deal heavy damage. This will NOT kill every single time, so be aware of that.

Finisher Attack (Coup de Grâce) : To do this, put someone on the ground by:

  • Airstomping (See Above)

  • Flying Kick (Click to go to my other guide. [Not yet made, so no link])

Once you have them on the ground, wait for the enemy to start to get back up, but not all the way, then press E. You should stab them, and deal heavy damage, but, like the Stealth Attack, this does NOT always kill.

Jump Attack (Lunge) : To do this, you must wall run. Once you are, aim at an enemy and press E, which will make you lunge off the wall for extra damage.

These abilities are nice when you have a sword, and some are strengthened by some, and wearkened by others. The kind of mods on a sword depend on what and who you are fighting.

Waving a Sword (Blocking): Hold the block button, and while you do, it blocks damage (Ranged [Guns, duh] and Melee) from the direction you are facing, but in (Currently unknown, needs testing) amounts. Drains stamina while blocking. Blocking can be done while standing still, sliding, wall running, and mid air.

General Use Weapons:

Light:

Balanced (Medum):

Heavy:
  • FRAGOR

  • SCINDO

GENERALISED FACTION:

  • Infested: Take fire mods, or Heat weapons. Failing that, swords that go through multiple enemies are good, and if you dont have any of those, fast swords are OK.

  • Corpus: Take a lightning mod, and armor piercing. A balanced sword is good (Meaning, a balance between damage and attack speed and multiple enemies).

  • Grineer: Frost damage, for sure. Armor penetration a close second. Heavy weapons, or balanced swords are good.

BOSSES:

Grineer:

  • Captain Vor: He is easy enough for middle levels and up, but if you run out of ammo, a fast, armor piercing sword works.

  • Councilor Vay Hek: A stun mod is a must. Armor piercing is nice, and you should use a fast sword.

  • General Sargas Ruk: A balanced sword, stun, and armor piercing.

  • Tyl Regor: Stun is highly reccomended. He is very fast, and has a powerful sword.

  • Lieutenant Lech Kril: Stay away from melee. His hammer likes brains.

  • Kela De Thaym: She has a homing rocket launcher. Try to dodge it. Otherwise, balanced weapon, armor piercing, and stun.

Infested:

  • J-3 Golem: Stay out of melee unless you have lots of health. He has a pull attack and a poison cloud.

  • Phorid: Infested boss. Do not melee, unless you are related to Thor, or happen to have Mjolnir on hand.
Corpus:

  • Sergeant Nef Anyo: Fast sword, and a lighting mod. Just melee where he is when he goes invisible (Marked by the blue objective mark) and you will still hit him.

  • Jackal: Melee with a balanced weapon, and when it is down.

  • Hyena: Try and stay out of melee, unless you can dodge the shockwave AND keep its high shields down.

  • Ambulas: Basically a small, fast, boss Shockwave MOA that has a ring of fire, instead of a shockwave. TIP: Fire burns you.
Secondary Weapons
Secondary Weapons are a good thing to use when you are out of ammo for your primary. Even if you are using the GORGON, or don't think that you will everr run out of ammo, it is a good idea to carry a good sidearm, for the occasions when you do, or on Spy/Deception missions.

This list goes over the 3 categories of weapons, and what factions to use them on. This list is purely suggestional, and goes from slowest rate of fire, to fastest. NOTE: This list counts burst weapons as faster rate of fire than single shot.

Single Handed:

  • LEX: The LEX is a sniper cannon of a pistol, that is very effective in most situations. Not recommended for Infested.

  • BOLTO: A slow, medium accuracy, high damage pistol, this is excellent against Grineer. Don't bother with armor piercing mods. The BOLTO gets a damage bonus on most Infested.

  • LATO:

  • BRONCO:

  • KRAKEN:

  • SICARUS:

  • FURIS: A fully automatic pistol, but with less firing speed, and more ammo control than the VIPER, a good starter pistol, a recommended first buy.

  • VIPER: The VIPER is a VERY fast firing pistol, and ammo mods are the first thing to get. Tapping the fire button fires 3 shots.

Duel Wielded (Akimbo):

  • KUNAI: A silent, fun weapon, the KUNAI are throwing daggers that come in packs of 10.
Primary Weapons
Rifles

  • Boltor:

  • Braton:

  • Mk.1 Braton:

  • Latron

Sniper Rifles

Sub- and Light-Machine Guns

@GewoonMartijn

No, nothing you could help with, but, now that you mention it, I will add a blocking thing. The guide not getting done is a product of my lazyness =3

Just keep working, by the way: could you take a look at blocking? I cant really find much about it. And: Is there anything I could help with? I have too much free time.. XD

UPDATE: I changed the title to say it was a work in progress. Also doing some research for more work on the secondary part. Images will be up after the text.

Yes, haven't been involved in Warframe very much, but it is all a WIP, I will be updating it though.
