Enhanced Edition Modding

We all know dead island save editor doesnt work on the enhanced editions, but with some 7 zip trickery you can easily open the same file it was editing and do it manually yourself! (Or just download my pre done file)

Manual Modding
Navigate to wherever you installed the game, for me its "D:\Steam\steamapps\common\DIDE\DI"

Once youve found it make your way to the DI folder inside the main games folder and locate "Data0.pak" Use 7zip or another similar program and open the archive.

Once inside open the data folder, then navigate to the skills folder and open it to.

Find "defaultlevels.xml" and right click it.

Select edit, and a notepad document should open.

You may now go nuts modifying any and all values you wish to. The names are pretty straightforward for what they do, and its mostly trial and error to find the values you wish to use.

You can also mess around with the individual character level files if you wish to boost the level cap (ill do a guide on level cap boosting later) But be warned that messing with any other file besides the default levels one runs the risk of breaking your save game. Default levels is safe to mess around with freely.

MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR DATA 0 BEFORE MESSING WITH IT.

You run the risk of losing all your saved settings from before if you dont. A simple verify integrity of game cache through steam will also restore the data 0 to stock if you really mess something up. So its pretty consequence free. You also cannot get banned for this in any way shape or form. But please be respectful when joining someone elses co op game if they dont like that you are running a modded game, then please RESPECT THEIR WISHES AND LEAVE THEIR CO OP GAME. Not everyone wants to mod.
The Easy Way
Ive already pre modded the data 0 to my liking, and have provided a download link below.
My data0 will give you the following

>Super Speed
>Super Jump
>Weapons Do Insane Damage
>Weapons Have Insane Force (zombies go flying)
>Level Cap Bump To 100+ (collect all the weapons you can because all drops past deault level will be broken)
>XP Gain Boost (level up stupid quick)

Thats all i can remember off the top of my head, but it basically just makes the game a silly gib fest where you run around like a sonic rabbit slapping zombies into space.

ENJOY!

Download Here[drive.google.com]

Its as easy as downloading the file, and copy pasting it into your DI folder (allow it to overwrite your old file and enjoy) If you are confused on where to put it see image #1 at the top of this guide.

If anyone with win 10 or later (not sure if it works with win7 too) wants an eaiser way: rename Data0.pak and add the ending .zip. then you can browse it with the windows zip functionality like any other folder. no need for 7zip and editing is easier too.

glad you made this guide, im assuming its similar to the one on dead island wiki fandom page too. I guess another thing that I would like to know is if there's a way to change ingame models of weapons and skins. I would love to see that happen.
