What the hell is 'Gunman Chronicles?'


It is a standalone game made on the goldsource engine released in 2000
that ended up becoming abandonware on moddb.

The game took place starting in a space city (Seen in this chapter), then went to a jungle planet filled with dinosaurs, a moon planet with an unstable AI and its minion robots, a wild western desert planet with space cowboys, and then a weird top secret underground research complex infested with genetically modifed monstrosities, all the while boasting a unique weapon customisation system and cheesy ass writing.

• Sandbox levels with nodegraphs, navmeshes, and cubemaps.
  
• Updated graphics. Lighting has been completely overhauled in every level since the last version.
  
• Models have been updated and re-ported. Some have also recieved texture upgrades. Most models now have good physics and ragdolls. Some also contain variants specifically for posing.
  
• Lots of small details hidden around.
  
• Secrets! 1 Big puzzle and 2 small easter eggs. Get searchin!
  
• New set pieces! Some levels now play slightly differently from their originals.
  
• Sounds have been overhauled. Maps now make use of Source's soundscapes.
  
• Brand new previously unported entities recreated with LUA. Recreated entities also support map inputs and outputs! FGD is on the repo below.
  
• Whole new map that never made it into the first version. The Mayan Ruins. ('gunman_mayan' in others) Fully noded, contains a navmesh, and has cubemaps.
  
• A sandbox level that merges most of the city all into one map. It also adds some new 'sandboxy' gameplay to the maps. Fully noded, contains a navmesh, and has cubemaps.
  
• Source material has all been released for you to mess around with and to maybe even carry on this project's torch, if you so desire to. (Just make sure to credit me as the original port author, pls!)

The material used to create this addon is hosted on GitHub. Feel free to make use of any of this material to make your own gunman addons, or to continue in the path of this one. Just make sure that if you do use any of it, you credit me as the original port author and ReWolf as the original developer.

Also, I wont be providing support with any of the material. You can leave a comment here on the page, but just know that I may or may not respond. (And please dont add me regarding support on the material. Just leave the questions and such here on the page.)
