On March 28th 2018 a change to the Atomizer was introduced where now players were only able to use its third jump ability once the weapon got fully deployed. They also apparently fixed a bug where player's second jump would fail when switching weapons other than Atomizer (wait wh-).
Well yeah whatever, it seemed anyway that these two changes introduced, through means unknown to this day, an exploit where Scouts were able to jump infinitively...

Exploit got patched day later.

Keep in mind that you couldn't switch off to other weapons, otherwise state would end.

The reasons still remain shrouded in mystery, but the most thought explanation is TF2's spaghetti code. Programmers not once have said that it becomes pretty difficult at times to add to game's code, due to the change possibly affecting something else ingame.

Now you were able to jump infinitively until you died. Now the birdscout created the plentora of chaos and demolishment on the servers worldwide, terrorizing Pybro flocks and destroying Hoovy nests.
