Introduction
Welcome to The Day Online!

This guide aims to help you get started in this interesting non typical moba, The Day Online can be an extremely amazing fast pace competitive experience if you know how to make the most out of it!

You can also find a list of Weapons, AMPs and Passives at the end of this guide.

Characters
You can unlock one random character by completing the tutorial, another random character by completing an AI Match, and further random characters by winning Normal Downtown Matches.

There are currently 28 Characters, divided into 4 different races, each with a Male and a Female counterpart.

Each race is divided into 4 of 5 main classes:
  • Tanker
  • Warrior
  • Long Range Dealer
  • Anti Tanker
  • Supporter

Characters have different attack types, either Physical or Magical. They also have varying defense stats against either Physical or Magical.

Each Character has a varying amount of HP. Each small bar is equal to 100HP.

In match you can also see a small XP bar above your HP.
Abilities
Each character has eight Active Abilities, five on each bar.
Two of these are your AMP abilities (keys "4" and "5").
These two don't change.

Your other three (keys "1","2" and "3") change when you weapon switch.

Primary Bar

Secondary Bar (Right-Click)

(You can see here skill "4" and "5" are still the same, while the other 3 switched).

Abilities also have a damage type:
AD (red color on tooltip) or AP (pink color on tooltip).

The skills you have depend on which weapon / secondary weapon / AMP you have equipped.
There is a full list of Weapons, AMPS and Passives at the end of this guide.

You can watch a great basic overview of skills and characters here.

You can buy new weapons and gear in the shop ("N" key) with coins you earn through playing matches.

Downtown

The aim is to destroy the opposing teams nexus. This is the MOBA type game mode.

Identify which side your TD Cannons are on and destroy these at the match start.

TD Cannons spawn minions which attack your nexus turret!
You want to attack these as a full team to make full use of the XP.

Make sure you have an immunity ability to counter lazer buff
Time this correctly to avoid lazer damage.

You can watch a video of Downtown basics here.

You want to farm whenever possible!

Rough XP Guide:
10 Jungle Creeps = 1 Level
15 Wave Minions = 1 Level
5 Jungle Buffs = 1 Level
3 Turrets = 1 Level
You also gain a small amount of XP over time

LAST HITS ON MINIONS MATTER!
The example I was given was the person who lands the killing blow gets 10xp, each assisting person gets 1xp.
Try to make sure you land at least one hit on everything but give the kills to your carry!

Max level is 15 so if you're capped make sure you're giving it to whoevers behind instead.

When you destroy minions or towers you can get item pickups.

"F1" = Health Pot
"F2" = Ward
"F3" = Cooldown Reduction
"F4" = Random teleport into enemy territory
"B" = Back to base

General Tips:
  • At start, team rotate from TD Cannons to Lazer + HP Buff and camps.
  • Farm jungle creeps and minions to level up.
  • Agro jungle creeps and kite them into a pack.
  • Contest buffs on enemy side of jungle if possible.
  • Always keep an eye on the mini map for buff timers.
  • Place wards near entrances or paths to buff camps.
  • You can press "Ctrl" and click to ping teammates.
  • Contest the TD Turret and TD Boss whenever possible (team objectives).

Downtown - Current Meta / Advanced
Disclaimer: This section is largely opinion based on the games current information and objectives. It often encompasses best case or perfect scenarios.

To start this section off we are going to point out the obvious: There are two sides to the map!

Because the TD Cannons are on the same side of the map for each team, the starting rotations for each team will be different.

TD Cannons on Heal Buff side:

This team has the most immediate opportunity.
- Rotate from TD Cannons to take Heal Buff creeps.
- Invade enemy Lazer Buff.

You have a choice here to whole team invade, or to partial invade with the rest of the team rotating to your own Lazer Buff, setting up for TD Turret.

Invading lazer is almost always worth, lazer does increased damage for each lazer buff your team secures. A successful invade increases your next lazer threat, and also decreases the next enemy lazer threat.

TD Cannons on Lazer Buff side:

This team has the most reactive opportunity.
- Rotate from TD Cannons to Lazer Buff creeps.
- Prepare for enemy team invdade on you Lazer Buff.

If you can deter an invade, secure your lazer, or pick up a couple of kills then this puts your team ahead, and likely puts the enemy team behind in XP.

This also leaves you with a nice clean rotation from Lazer Buff to Mid to Heal Buff with options to counter invade enemy lazer (if up), or a much stronger engage on TD Turret.

It's hard to say how to proceed from here as the game plays out reactive to what each team decides to focus/contest.

- Make sure you react to Seige Minions which are spawned every time you destroy an enemy tower.
- TD Turret spawns Minions towards your towers if the enemy destroys it, make sure you react to this.
- When killed TD Boss Monster gives a team wide buff and also regenerates a tower if you have less towers than the enemy.
- Nexus Towers are stronger based on how many midline Towers are still standing.
- It pays to ward close to Buff camps if you can so that you have a confirmed visual indication for when camps spawn to maximise your farm.
- Friendly Towers drop healing areas when destroyed, you can currently step in and out of these to heal multilpe times. They also provide a speed up.
Resource Battle
This game mode is 1v1, 3v3 or 5v5.
The aim is to obtain more points than your opponents by killing them, and by killing minions on the map and returning the resource orbs to your base.
This is a more brawler type gamemode.

General Tips:
  • Stick with your team
  • Check the minimap to see where minions spawn
  • Once you kill a minion only the team member with the orb should return it to the base, the rest should rotate towards the enemy team or new objective.
  • Don't give up even when losing, sudden death or a good team wipe can turn the match around quickly!
