Welcome to the Paranormal Activity: The Lost Soul achievement guide.

With the game now leaving VR-Only status, it should be a lot easier to hunt the achievements in this game. It was more difficult before, due to there being two collectible related achievements, and we all know how difficult it is to use guides while in the VR environment.

To date, no one has earned Tortured Soul, which is the achievement for getting all of the other achievements. This achievement IS BUGGED, I have personally confirmed it as of 3/22/18.

A minimum of two playthroughs will be required, as there are two different endings. Three will be required if you manage to die on one of your playthroughs. I suggest leaving the "not dying" portion to your second run, as you'll know what to do to avoid death.

Tortured Soul
Get every game trophy
Self explanitory, BUT IT IS BUGGED and UNATTAINABLE.

House Hunter
Enter the house
Story related, cannot be missed.

She Crazy
Finish the game's normal ending
You will most likely get this one by default, as it's the easiest ending to get. The other one requires specific circumstances to be met. Refer to Big Brother for more information on what not to do for this achievement.

Hell Yeah
Finish game in hardcore mode
Refer to Big Brother for more information.

Big Brother
Finish the game's alternate ending
This achievement will go hand-in-hand with Hell Yeah, because you have to be playing in Hardcore mode to be able to trigger it. You need to grab specific items, in addition to the regular ritual items, which will allow you to unlock the ending.

1. When you get to the Dark World, break the bell jar to get the key to Grandma's room. You'll need her crucifix.
2. Get Kat's hairbrush from the box to the right of the television.
3. Go to Kat's room and get the pink bottle of her baby teeth.
4. Head to Grandma's room and grab the crucifix from her hands.
5. Grab Dad's head and carry it to the ritual room. You can't put it in your inventory.
6. Once you're in the ritual room, grab the tape that the girl drops. MAKE SURE that you have the head in one hand and are playing the tape with the recorder in another hand. IF YOU DROP THE HEAD, the normal ending items will load on the shelf instead. If this happens, before beating the boss exit the game, go back to the attic to get the head, and do it again.
7. Perform the ritual with the new items, and you will unlock the new ending.

I've included a video guide to take the guess work out of where some of these items are located.


Survivor
Complete the game without dying
There are only a few key moments where you can die. You should be familiar with these moments after you finish the game the first time. The hardest part of this achievement may very well be the end ritual, where the items have a habit of glitching out. I've included a video guide that shows the fastest way to beat the game, and how to avoid all of the deaths.

Locksmith
Use every key
This might seem self explanitory, but you don't actually have to use all of the keys to complete the game. Here's a written list, followed by a video guide. There are 3 in total:

1. Kitchen Key: Located in the bathroom. Go and use it on the door in the living room.
2. Grandma's Room Key: After you enter the Dark World, it's in the bell jar. Not missable if you're going for the alternate ending achievement. Go use it on the room in the front foyer, to the left of the closet.
3. Upstairs Bathroom Key: In the "KEEP OUT" room, by the decapitated body. Head upstairs, near where you find the photo needed for the ritual. It will be one of the three doors in a small section.

All Juiced Up
Find every battery
Here's a written list, followed by a video guide. There are 18 in total:

1. Menu room table (doesn't count).
2. As soon as you start the game, head left past the grave. It's on a fence post, to the right of where you pick up the flashlight.
3. Entrance foyer, on the table.
4. Room to the right of the closet, in the half-opened drawer.
5. Same location as battery 4.
6. Upstairs in the hallway, in a drawer on the desk where you find the photo.
7. The room with the clown punching bag, on the floor in the closet.
8. The room with the clown punching bag, on the red table.
9. TV room at the end of the hallway. It's below the TV on the stand.
10. After your encounter with Kat after leaving the TV room. Outside of her room, on a table in the hallway with a letter.
11. In the room with the globe. It's next to the globe.
12. Grandma's room. Next to the jewelry box.
13. In the kitchen. In a drawer on the side that has the messy sink.
14. On top of the fireplace.
15. The room that says KEEP OUT. It's on the desk next to the letter.
16. After the ghost kills hatchet mom, it's on the counter top that doesn't have a sink.
17. In the upstairs hallway, on the desk, near where you originally ran in to hatchet mom.
18. In the attic, on the dresser that is missing drawers.

Word Smith
Read Every Letter
Here's a written list, followed by a video guide. There are 21 in total:

1. On the left side of the front door, just before you enter the house.
2. As soon as you enter the house, a note on the table, next to a battery; "Need Food".
3. As soon as you enter the house, a note on the table, next to a battery; "Needs Batteries".
4. Inside the grandfather clock, with the red candle.
5. In the small hallway in the same area, a note on a dresser; "I am scared :(".
6. Just under the note from above, on the second shelf of the dresser.
7. In the room with the red teddy bear, a cheating spouse magazine.
8. In the room with the red teddy bear, a letter in one of the dresser drawers.
9. In the opposite drawer of battery 6. Upstairs, where you find the photo, in one of the table drawers.
10. The room with the clown punching bag, on the floor in the closet.
11. The room with the clown punching bag, in the white table.
12. On the table in the TV room.
13. Next to the above, on the table in the TV room.
14. After your encounter with Kat after leaving the TV room. Outside of her room, on a table in the hallway.
15. In the globe room, to the right of the entrance.
16. After getting scared by Kat, in the globe room, on the table with the lamp.
17. In Grandma's Room, a red magazine.
18. In the creepy room with the pentagram and deer skulls, under a tapestry.
19. After leaving the above mentioned room, head back to the foyer, it's on the table.
20. In the "KEEP OUT" room, on the table to the right.
21. In the "KEEP OUT" room, in the closet area where you find the body.

Whimp
Throw the football
The football is right outside of the house, by the For Sale sign. Pick it up and chuck it.

Head Games
Drop head through basketball hoop
The head rolls down from the attic, drop it through the basketball hoop located on the right side of the door when entering the "KEEP OUT" room.

You Are So Vain
Trigger the mirror scare
In the front foyer, there is a horizontally long mirror (opposite the fireplace room, joining wall of Grandma's Room). If you stare at it long enough, a head should pop out and shatter the mirror. Refer to the video guide for more information. This can only be triggered AFTER the chairs are found stacked on the table.
