Risen 2 Mod Starter

First you need the Risen 2 Mod Starter and install the essential mods.
1) AntiWarp Ultra
2) LoD Distance Mod
3) Dynamic Torch Light Mod v2
4) Unofficial Patch v0.5
5) R2.E.T PACK V1.0

Risen 2 extreme config file

The default settings ingame and also in Mod starter tuning are too bad.

This tweaked Risen 2 config file gives best image quality with still acceptable performance.

1) Download this file
https://pastebin.com/SwVtApnA

2) Copy it to your Risen 2 data folder
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Risen 2\data\ini

3) Rename original ConfigDefault.xml to ConfigDefault.orig

4) Rename risen_2_extreme_config_file.txt to ConfigDefault.xml

5) Ingame choose everything high.

Nvidia Ambient Occlusion

In Nvidia driver settings you can enable Nvidia Ambient Occlusion.

Sweetfx

You may want to add a sweetfx preset.
These 2 look best in my opinion.

*Mods for Risen 1 & 2 are hard to come by, so I suggest storing backups to an external hard drive!

By the way - Risen 1 & 2 Mod Starter Servers are dead! Just do a manual install of all patches and mods.

Very helpful! One thing- if you want your game in English, open the new xml file in a notepad, search for the word German (it appears twice,) and simply change to the word English.

1st would be really good if you already have a guide machast a few left insert.
2. R2.E.T PACK V1.0 is no longer downloadable since 2014.

If you still have R2.E.T PACK V1.0, it would be nice to share it with others.
