(12/23/20) update:
Added 1 male Krogan voice and 1 female Krogan voice. The male Krogan voice has a censored version (on by default) and an uncensored version (commented out by default). The censored version may still have minor cursing, but it should not be worse than the vanilla XCOM 2 voices.

This will probably be my last update to this mod. I have a lot of things I want to fix/update about this mod and it will just be easier to create a new mod going forward.

A collection of my previous Mass Effect sounding voicepacks, but with additional coding for the three WoTC hero factions. This mod was made using the vanilla modbuddy, but I tested it in my WoTC game to make sure that it works.

As always, the voice lines won’t sound as good as lines ripped straight from the game, but they should sound close enough.

*Warning* Explicit language for the female quarian voice

Krogan Voices
  • Krogan Male: Steve Blum (460 lines (censored)/560 lines (uncensored) from Bulletstorm and Company of Heroes)

  • Krogan Female: Lani Minella (560 lines from Skyrim and Soulcalibur 4, 5 and 6)
Salarian Voice
  • Salarian Male: Vic Chao (900 lines from XCOM EU/EW’s English Male 6)
Turian Voices
  • Turian Male 1: Vic Chao (900 lines from XCOM EU/EW’s English Male 6)
  • Turian Male 2: Michael Ironside (500 lines mostly from Splinter Cell and a few lines from Starship Troopers (1997))
    ==Used assets from WalkerTexasRanger’s Splinter Cell Sam Fisher Voice Pack (see Credits section for links)
  • Turian Female: Courtenay Taylor (900 lines from XCOM EU/EW’s English Female 1)
Drell Voices

  • Drell Female: Kimberly Brooks (570 lines from XCOM EU/EW’s English Female 2)

==Q and A==
Q; What do you mean by SOME support for hero factions?
A: This mod has coding to allow hero units to select the voice, but doesn't have voice lines for more hero specific actions (ie. justice, sting, pillar etc.). I'm planning on fixing this issue with my next Mass Effect Sounding Collection mod, but I have a lot of audio to sort through/re-do so that may take a LONG time.

Q: I don't use the ___________ sounding voice, how do I turn it off?
A: Easy, just comment it out. Please see the discussion section if you need a detailed guide on how to do this.

Q: How do I prevent a voice from auto-assigning to new soldiers/haven people?
A: In this mod’s config folder, open the XComContent.ini with a text editor (ie. Notepad ++). Towards the beginning of each line, there should be a section that says Language=“english”. If the Language=“english”, the voice will auto-assign. If you change it to Language=“none”, the voice will NOT auto-assign, but you can still select it in character customization

Q: Will you do voicepack mods for the other Mass Effect species?
A: I have no current plans to do the other species.

The asari don't really have an audio effect so I won't be making a voice pack for them.

You can probably use a good female voice pack on the workshop and that should make for a good stand-in.

I posted a Quarian tutorial in the discussions section. It's kind of effect heavy, but it's not too bad once you get into it.

There are two methods in the tutorial so use whichever one you prefer. Text tutorials are kind of hard to follow so let me know if something does not make sense and I'll try to clarify.

Probably not. I was looking into things, but none of them really panned out. Plus, I don't really mod much nowadays.

The Salarian voice was one of my first voice mods so it didn't turn out too great. The voice I used in particular was kinda slow paced so I should have went for a faster tempo. A higher pitch might also have been an option, but I was already on that chipmunk line.

I had plans to do a better Salarian voice, but real life stuff came up so I don't know if I'll have time to get around to it.
