"Not every line infantry units you use in battle have to be thin or block ranks. Especially if you are a Old School Ottoman user, what I meant with Old school is using infantry rosters that are outdated or does not possess rank fire capabilities (I call ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥! Janissaries historically can rank fire and even in the campaign cutscenes).

As the name implies, your army basically rotates a few 45 degress. what this offers an avoidence straight-up rank fire battle importantly if your Ottoman armies are stretched thin, and while your enemy lines are 2-3 ranks deep. If that's the case then it would be a 2v3-4 line battle you'll lose fairly quickly.

To avoid this just spread evenly and tilt your army. Use the gap in-between the lines as a means for sniping spot, not only it prevents your skirmishers/lights getting caught in line of fire. The gap offers additional freedom of movements capable of switching out your rifles with another set of units such as cavalries."
