Introduction

Note: There have been look-a-like copycat guides popping up. If it's not labeled by THN (The Horror Network), it's NOT one of mine and therefore not up to the quality that I aim to provide.

Welcome to the Final Fantasy XV achievement guide.

This release is, by far, the easiest in the Final Fantasy catalog; both in terms of gameplay and achievements. You can start your game on Easy or Normal difficulty, it doesn't matter. The difficulty can be changed at any time in-game.
However, make sure to set your difficulty to Normal prior to the fight with Ifrit.

MAKE SURE TO SET YOUR DIFFICULTY TO NORMAL FOR ALL OF THE EPISODE DLCS.

There has been mixed information regarding the existence of free roam post-story. The short answer is, YES THERE IS FREE ROAM ONCE THE GAME ENDS. This means that nothing is missable in terms of achievements. If you're confused about how to free roam after the story, look here[www.powerpyx.com].

With the Royal Pack comes the only missable achievement in the game
Be aware of The Pursuit of Knowledge, as there are several entries into the datalog that can be missed. Although technically not entirely "missable", it's a pain to have to go back through chapter select and find these pieces.

For a full list of Missables, please check here. Keep in mind that these do not affect any achievements.

This guide is considered COMPLETE

Weaving a Tapestry
Completed 80 sidequests.
In Final Fantasy XV, there are three quest types; side quests, hunts, and main story missions. Side quests are denoted with blue names on the "Quest" portion of the main menu. Aside from fetch quests, there are also ones related to fishing, photos for Prompto, world encounters, and more. It's good to keep up with these side missions, so that way you're not grinding through so many at the end of the game. Keeping their level requirements on par with your current level is a good rule of thumb. There are some side quests that become inaccessible later on, so make sure to refer to the Missables guide from the Introduction section. There are about 120 side missions in the game. Hunts do not count.

Tortoise Toppler
Defeated the adamantoise.
This used to be a lot harder, taking 45 - 60 minutes to do, but the Ring of Lucii (obtained in the final chapter of the story) has been significantly buffed, allowing this battle to be completed in a couple of minutes. Use Umbra to travel back to Past Lucis and Cindy will call you and tell you about earthquakes in the region near Hammerhead. This will give you a quest called "Let Sleeping Mountains Lie". Follow it through to the end to open up the hunt for Adamantoise, "Lonely Rumblings in Longwythe", which can be started at the diner in Hammerhead.
Skills & Abilities
Angling Rookie
Improved fishing level for the first time.
Refer to Angling Expert for more information.

Angling Expert
Reached maximum fishing level.
This is Noctis' skill, and it is raised a percentage each time you catch a fish. If you manage to clear out a fishing area by catching each fish that is available, you'll get about a quarter of a level in experience towards the next fishing rank. There are a total of 10 ranks. The best rod that can be bought is at a shop near a fishing poin in Vesperpool; the best rod in the game is obtained by completing fishing quests. The best reel is won by betting in the arena at Altissia. Once you reach level 10, rest at camp and the achievement will unlock. It should take 3-4 hours to farm this, but wait on grinding as there are side quests related to fishing.

Survival Rookie
Improved survival level for the first time.
Refer to Survival Expert for more information.

Survival Expert
Reached maximum survival level.
This is Gladiolus' skill, and it is raised by taking steps; yes, you read that right. It must be leveled on foot, as steps taken on a Chocobo or the distance traveled in the Regalia does not count towards this skill. This will be one of the last skill related achievements that you will unlock. If you still haven't gotten it near the end of the game, do the rubberband method on a controller while in Hammerhead so you'll have ample room.

Photo Rookie
Improved photography level for the first time.
Refer to Photo Expert for more information.

Photo Expert
Reached maximum photography level.
This is Prompto's skill, and it is essentially leveled up through steps taken and overall progression. Prompto will take pictures randomly, but he can only take up to 10 at a time without extra accessories. Make sure to camp at least once a day to cash in on the photos that he has taken. This skill will most likely stay in-step with Gladiolus' survival skill, and therefore it will be one of the last that you unlock.

Cooking Rookie
Improved cooking level for the first time.
Refer to Cooking Expert for more information.

Cooking Expert
Reached maximum cooking level.
This is Ignis' skill, and it can only be raised by staying at actual campsites; not hotels, trailers, etc. Keep in mind that eating at restaurants does not increase the cooking skill, but Ignis is able to learn some new recipes by eating different food. Recipe books and ingredients can also be purchased at various shops, which will teach him new recipes to make as well. Ingredients will come from hunts, fights, fishing, gathering, and shops. The higher the recipe level that you choose to cook, the more experience is gained. Levels can be farmed by repeatedly resting at the same camp.

New Power
Learned first ability.
Refer to Self-Mastered for more information.

Self-Improved
Activated 20 ability nodes.
Refer to Self-Mastered for more information.

Self-Mastered
Activated 50 ability nodes.
Ability nodes can be found under "Ascension" in the menu. There are a total of nine categories, with several abilities within. Each node costs a set amount of Ability Points (AP), which is earned in various ways; leveling, completing quests, etc. I highly recommend grabbing the nodes that let you earn more AP from more things as quickly as possible, while leaving the Wait catagory until last. Overall, these achievements will just take time.

Misc.
Learner's Permit
Drove the Regalia.
One of the first achievements that you can earn. The first time that the car can be driven, you'll have the option of manual or auto (letting Ignis drive). Choose manual. If you miss it on this go-around, you'll have to wait until Chapter 3, where the car becomes yours to fully choose to drive manually or on auto.

Regalia Pilot
Flew the Regalia Type-F.
To unlock the Regalia Type-F, you'll have to finish three assaults on Nifelhim bases in Lucis. Two of the bases will already have been done in the course of completing main story quests, leaving one to finish up. To start the assault on the base, head north of Hammerhead outpost. You'll need to go to the top of the guard tower on the northern side of the base and interact with the point on the top level. Once you defeat the boss of the base you'll receive a strange part that the party will say you should ask Cindy about; she will then turn the Regalia into a Type-F. Once you hit a certain speed, you can press B to transform the car into an airship. Be sure to land Regalia back on the road afterward, anywhere is an instant game over.

Chocobo Jockey
Rode a Chocobo.
You've probably noticed that all of the Chocobo posts are out-of-order. Well, you'll come across a side quest in Chapter 3 where you must complete a hunt called "A Behemoth Undertaking" in order to restore these posts. Complete this mission, rent a Chocobo, ride it, and the achievement is yours.

Quadruple Threat
Equipped four weapon slots.
Go to the main menu and select "Gear". Select Noctis, and fill up each of the four arms circles with either a weapon or magic.

Magical Worker
Crafted a spell for the first time.
Go to the main menu and select "Elemancy". From there, you can create spells. Select an empty flask on the right side of the screen, and then select which elements you want to use to craft a spell (Fire, Lightning, Ice). After that, move your cursor down to where it says "Craft", and you're done. You'll need to harvest from Fire, Lightning, and Ice nodes for power from around Eos; they're generally found near campsites.

Black Mage
Used magic for the first time.
Unlike in other Final Fantasy games, magic in XV is a consumable resource; one that must be crafted from materials you've gathered, and then equipped. Simply set one of your magic flasks in a weapon slot, select it using the appropriate key (up, down, left, right), press and hold B and release the spell where you want it.

High Five for Justice!
Played JUSTICE MONSTERS FIVE for the first time.
This pinball-styled mini-game is located inside most of the diners in rest areas. Just walk up to the machine and interact with it, once you exit out of the mini-game, you will get the achievement.

Just Hangin' Around
Performed first point-warp suspension.
You need to look at/face a warp-point, which are highlighted throughout the landscape while in combat. Be it rocks, or a high-up point, just look at it and press Y to warp to it.

Brother-in-Arms
Issued first ally command.
When you have your Tech Bar filled up, you can get your allies to perform certain special moves. Hold down LB, and pick from your allie's abilities, such as Prompto's Piercer.

Blind Spot
Performed first blindside link.
A blindside attack is when you attack an enemy from behind. A blindside link is when you perform an attack from the flank of an enemy, and an ally joins you in your attack. It happens at random so long as an ally is near, so it will happen when it happens.

Noct You Like a Hurricane
Initiated first link-strike after parrying an attack.
To parry, you must first press and hold X when the prompt appears, until the enemy attacks; then you need to push B as soon as the prompt appears. After the parry, follow-up with an attack to perform a link-strike as long as an ally is near.

The Power of Kings
Called forth the Armiger for the first time.
This isn't available until the Trial of Titan quest at the end of Chapter 4. You do not actually need to equip the Royal Arms to use Armiger. While in combat, you'll notice a blue circle surrounding your weapon options on the lower left of the screen. When the blue circle is full, you'll be able to use Armiger in combat. To activate it, press and hold LB + RB at the same time while standing still in combat.

Immortal Photobomb
Caught an image of Gentiana in a photo.
After completing Chapter 5, Gentiana has a random chance to appear in Prompto's photos. Unfortunately, there's nothing that can be done to provoke her to appear. She can appear any time from the beginning of Chapter 6 an onward. While it is random, it's frequent for her to appear.

Divine Intervention
Summoned one of the Six for the first time.
These are the "Eidoleons" of XV. You'll unlock your first Astral after completing Chapter 4. Keep in mind that summons that occur due to story progression aren't counted for the achievement. The requirements for summoning are as follows:

Titan - An Ally enters the danger state.
Ramuh - The battle goes on for a set amount of time in relation to level of the enemies and your own levels.
Leviathan - Noctis enters the danger state in combat near water.
Shiva - Enemies are significantly higher level than you, and combat is near water.
Ifrit - Enemy, can not be summoned (Does not count for achievement).
Bahamut - Can not be manually summoned (Does not count for achievement).

Faithful Heir
Collected thirteen royal arms.
The "Royal Arms" are the legendary weapons of Final Fantasy XV. Most of them are obtained through story progression, but six are not. Refer to the video for more information.

Sword of the Wise - Story related, Chapter 2
Axe of the Conqueror - Story related, Chapter 2

Update 1.13 Additions
Seize the Moment
Performed 10 full-hit cross chains.
Cross Chains is a combo system that was added to the game in Patch 1.13. They are done by doing a warp strike at a vulnerable enemy that has red arrows above their body, which is a special new state of vulnerable. This is easy to do with random Magitek soldiers that are around the world, specifically the level 47 soldiers that aren't in giant mechs. First, don't attack them yourself, let your AI partners handle it. When GLadio knocks someone down, they'll be vulnerable to Cross Chain. Lock on, warp strike, then continue to spam B each time it comes up to complete the QTE. If you press B at the wrong time, your chain breaks and it will not count.

Love Turned Tragic
Defeated Melusine.
Melusine is an optional level 99 boss that was added to the game in Patch 1.13. The achievement is unlocked by completing the "O Partner, My Partner" side quest gained from the Hunter at Meldacio Headquarters, South East of Vesperpool. It's a Hunt, grab the quest and kill the boss, return to the Hunter to finish it and unlock the achievement. If you've done the Adamantoise from the main game, you'll have no problem with Melusine. Make sure to make use of the new Magitek suits that give 30 minutes of Invicincibility per day; charge 'em up, equip 'em on all characters, hack n' slash boss.
Update 1.23 Additions
Blessed by All
Collected all the Royal Sigils.
There are 13 Royal Sigils that correspond to the Royal Weapons in the main game. Until the March 2018 update, not all sigils were available, but now they are. All but one are collected by unlocking nodes on the map, with the exception of The Father. The Father is a reward for defeating Ifrit. Ifrit is a new final boss of Comrades made available in the March 2018 update.

The Ifrit battle is very demanding, and he's more robust than he is in the main game. So, you either have to be patient in whittling his health down or get very powerful weapons. There are plenty of warp points around the area so warp strike/warp out tactics are effective but will take a very long time if you're fighting Ifrit with a toothpick.

When you defeat Ifrit, a cut scene follows and you get The Father as a reward. Assuming that you have picked up the other 12 Royal Sigils on the map by clearing nodes, you will unlock the achievement.

Beacons of Hope
Completed the Comrades quest with all four characters.
There's a new quest in Comrades under the "Future" tab called Comrades. You get to choose to play as Noctis, Ignis, Prompto, or Gladio. Complete it with all four characters to unlock the achievement.

Chocobreeder
Raised a chocobo to Level 99.
After "Descent into Darkness" during the main quest, a Black Chocobo will arrive in Lestallum. He will be to the left of the power plant entrance. After interacting with him, go and power up the new supply route to unlock Cape Caem. This will start the "Where Light Won't Reach" quest. After completing it, go back to Lestallum and power up the new supply routes. Now you can return to Cape Caem freely, and it will act as a new hub where you have access to most of the stuff from Lestallum, in addition to a new Chocobo Farm.

Go to the stables via the elevator and do the training tutorial for your Black Chocobo. Select the stats you wish to train. This chocobo starts at level 50 and has a default cap of level 60. Most Chocobos can only level up 10 times. To increase its level cap, you will see yellow stat meters that fill after each session in the bottom right. If you fill out all these meters before you level up 10 times, you will increase your level cap. Sometimes there won't be a meter to fill out, thus the bird will automatically capout. If planned right, with a good bird and a bit of luck, you should be able to get your bird to level 99.

Each time you select a stat to train, the Chocobo will level up. Be careful so that it doesn't get exhausted, otherwise you will lose a levels worth of stat increases for each 20% of the exhaustion it has. You can keep an eye on the exhaustion percentage for each stat when selecting it. When the percentage turns brown, it means you are more likely to injure your Chocobo if you try training that stat again without resting. You can let it rest at the cost of one level per 20% exhaustion.

Another thing that greatly helps is pressing the Y button to view your bird's motivational characteristics. The better the description, the better the stats of your bird. PRIORITIZE THIS when selecting birds to train, as it will help getting the best stats possible. This makes filling out those meters less luck dependent.

Once its reaches its level cap, you will have to find a new Chocobo by doing quests that have a Chocobo symbol next to the recommended level. You can raise up to 10 Chocobos before you have to start releasing the weaker ones into the wild. It appears to be random which quest gives you a Chocobo. The level of the Chocobo also appears to be random and unrelated to the quest. If you get a high level quest you can't beat, you start the quest and immediately quit and the Chocobo quest should change.

Your Chocobo will also be critical in unlocking all the Royal Sigils, as it will need high stats to help unlock new routes. To help with the training, here are some of the dialog boxes that will appear after leveling up your bird:

"Your Chocobo can't wait to get started! It will benefit greatly from its next session."
If you repeat the last session, it will give you extra stat increases. Make sure you pay attention to the exhaustion % here.

"Your Chocobo appears eager to keep training. Your chocobo's exhaustion has decreased."
Greatly decreases exhaustion from all stats.

"Your bird seems pleased with that session."
Decreases exhaustion slightly for all stats

"Your bird seems satisfied with that session."
Decreases exhaustion from the stat trained.

"You notice a glint in your bird's eye."
If repeat the last training as it will give you great stats.

"Your Chocobo is itching to spread its wings! You can now select the Motivation training course."
Same as the glint in your birds eye dialog. This will increase your stats for the next level up, but costs an additional level to motivate your bird.

"Your Chocobo seems unenthused.. It will not benefit much from its next session."
Grants less stats gain if you repeat the same training.

Here's a good video that helps explain the situation a little better:

Episode Gladiolus (DLC)
Shield of the Chosen King
Completed the trials on Normal.
Story related, cannot be missed IF YOU PLAY ON NORMAL.

Master and Pupil
Performed 5 link-strikes with Cor.
You need to Blindside an enemy (hit them from behind) as Cor is fighting the same foe. This will cause a Link-Strike. The Bandersnatch fight is good for farming this.

No Pain, No Gain
Scored 500,000 or more points in Score Attack.
Refer to A New Blademaster for more information.

A New Blademaster
Scored 1,000,000 or more points in Score Attack.
After completing this episode, "Score Attack" will be available from the DLC's main menu. You will have a limited time to play through the fighting parts of the DLC in this mode, and obviously you will need to score as many points as possible. Holding a combo together by parrying and counter attacking as many times as possible is essential. After your Rage and Special meters fill up, use them on the boss to perform a Maelstrom attack. Aim for around 300k after the first section, 425k after the second one, and 800k at the third. The final boss should net around 100k just for disposing of him, and you'll gain another 100k in bonus points if you do not use any Phoenix Downs and kept your potion consumption to a minimum (3-4 Hi-Potions, 10ish regulars).

Column Colossus
Uprooted all columns.
There are a total of 19 columns to grab for this achievement. The below video for Picker-Upper houses all of the column locations. Just check that out to ensure you grab all of these.

Picker-Upper
Picked up all items.
Another collectible achievement. There are only 48 pick-ups, however. Refer to the video guide for more information.

Transcendence
Defeated Cor.
This achievement is gained by defeating Cor in The Final Trial, which unlocks after beating the DLC's story mode. You will select this option from the main menu. It is a quick "Super Boss" battle, though it can be difficult as Cor is numerous levels higher than you. You will use the same tips as for "New Blademaster" though. Refer to the video guide if you have need for a better strategy than your own.

Episode Prompto (DLC)
Unbreakable Bonds
Completed EPISODE PROMPTO on Normal.
Story related, cannot be missed IF IT IS DONE ON NORMAL MODE.

Unseen Assassin
Stealth-killed 3 enemies.
An essential mechanic to this DLC, you'll get a tutorial to show you how it's done. Sneak behind an enemy by crouching, and then press the prompt button to kill them.

Sharp Shooting
Took down 30 enemies with crackshots.
The "Crackshot" is a special ability that Prompto can execute when a foe is below 15% health. They'll glow purple, and you can press the prompt to do the move. The enemy MUST die when the Crackshot is performed, otherwise it doesn't count. If you use a Lumen Flare (flash grenade, basically), it'll let you perform a Crackshot instantly.

Field Photographer
Took 10 photos mid-battle using Selfie Shot.
The "Selfie Shot" is another one of Prompto's special abilities. To take a selfie in battle, hold down the RB button and press right on the directional pad after the Tech Bar has filled up two slots. You can even farm this achievement using one enemy if you like.

Dogged Rider
Earned the top ranking on all three Time Trial courses.
Unanimously voted "Worst DLC Achievement" for this title. Definitely the hardest part of this episode, and the most frustrating. Once you complete the episode, the Time Trials will become available and will be selectable from the main menu of the DLC.

The three courses, and the time required for 3 stars, are as follows: (MIN/SEC.MLS)

Slippery Slalom - 01:12.99
Avalanche Ambush - 01:29.99
Snowglide Run - 01:16.99

Since a written explanation is just not going to cut it here, given that it's a timed race with obstacles essentially, here's a handy video.

An Emperor Deposed
Defeated the kaiser behemoth.
This is a powerful level 99 optional boss that can be taken down. To activate this side quest, visit the western part of the map by the lake, just south of Decratom Haven. To find Kaiser Behemoth, visit the lake's eastern shore after 15:00 in-game time. The best way is to rest at camp until nightfall. There's a decently easy strat to killing this guy, which can be seen in the video below.

The Dragoonslayer
Completed Aranea's intensive training.
Aranea is this episode's "Super Boss". She's only available to fight by selecting the option to battle her from the main menu of the DLC, after the game has been completed. She's a far higher level than you will be. If you're looking for a decent strategy, check out the video below.

Episode Ignis (DLC)
A Noble Sacrifice
Completed EPISODE IGNIS on Normal.
Story related, cannot be missed if PLAYING ON NORMAL.

Another Path
Defeated Ardyn in Chapter 3, Verse 2.
After finishing up the main story for this episode, the "Extra Verse" option will be available from the DLC's main menu. Select it and complete the secondary ending to the DLC. As you fight Ardyn at the alter, while Ignis is subdued, there will be a secondary option titled "Play Along". Select that. As you fight Ardyn the second time, pick "Risk Your Life" the first time the ring runs out of juice, and then "Sacrifice Your Life" the second time. A timer will start counting down, and you must beat Ardyn before it runs out.

Hidden Power
Took down 10 enemies using the spelldaggers.
This achievement is a little redundant as the Spelldaggers are the only weapons that Ignis has. Just kill 10 enemies.

Swift Retaliation
Took down 10 enemies with counterstrikes.
When you're struck, you will stagger backwards and see a prompt come up. Hit it quickly, and Ignis will do a backflip, heal, and another prompt will follow. Hit it quickly again, and the counterstrike will be performed. Not every enemy will die from a counterstrike, so timing is key.

Master of the Elements
Took down 100 enemies using Total Clarity.
Total Clarity is one of Ignis' special abilities that can be activated after performing a series of normal attacks. The yellow bar on the right side of the screen will fill up, and once it is full you can press Y to activate it. Remember, you must KILL 100 enemies with the skill, not just use it.

A New Protagonist
Earned the top ranking in the Friendly Match.
This sounds like an online achievement, but it isn't. After completing the main story in this episode, the option "Friendly Match" will be available in the DLC's main menu. Select it to fight against Noctis. To unlock the achievement, you need an A+ rank or better, and that means you need 900k points, or more. Score is determined by various factors, the largest being your combo; a 30-35 string of hits will land 500kish off the bat. Now, after the 30th hit, Noctis usually starts dodging, but if you activate Total Clarity you can usually connect and keep the combo going. If you can manage to get a 40 hit combo, you're fine for points. There's a bit more strategy involved to getting the points and winning. If you're having a problem, refer to the video.

Altissian Ambassador
Collected all documents.
I know, I know; "Oh god, not a collectible achievement!". Don't worry, this one is fairly easy and quick. It can also be done before finishing A King In Peril.

Episode Ardyn (DLC)
Note: This DLC has a missable achievement. See Return of the Founder King for more information.

The Nightmare Ends
Completed EPISODE ARDYN on Normal.
Story related, cannot be missed.

King of the Daemons
Daemonified 100 enemies.
The game shows you how to Daemonify enemies right at the beginning of the DLC. You'll need to land 5 consecutive hits on a normal foe, or blindside them, and then you can use the ability to gain an insta-kill.

Fallen Savior
Inflicted Royal Retribution 10 times.
When you get 12 spectral swords through Daemonifying enemies, you can activate the Royal Retribution ability.

The Pyreburner's Keeper
Used Ifrit's techniques 10 times.
Once you've filled up Ardyn's technique bar with at least 2 bars, you can summon Ifrit. Summon him by using any of his three techniques, such as Firaga, and rinse and repeat ten times.

Insomnia Insurgence
Took over all sectors of Insomnia.
Each sector of Insomnia has an amplifier that can be disabled. There are a total of 7, and they're all clearly marked on the map. You need to disable a minimum of 3 so that you can continue on to the final battle of the DLC. However, keep going and disable all 7 for this achievement.

Mastering the Darkness
Unlocked all of Ardyn's abilities.
Ardyn has a total of 15 abilities, costing a total of 292 AP. Simply kill every enemy and amplifier guardian that you come across. If you're going for Return of the Founder King, this achievement and all of the former will come naturally.

Return of the Founder King
Earned the top ranking in EPISODE ARDYN.
This is the hardest achievement in the DLC, and it is missable. It requires you to get an A+ ranking, which is determined by 9 categories. To get an A+ rank, you'll have to get an A+ in at least 8 of these 9 categories, with the float room of one category being able to only go as low as a B. Alternatively, you can also get A+ in 7 categories and get an A in the other 2. Getting a C or lower will automatically void any chance of getting an A+ ranking.

Ranking Categories + Requirements:

  • Total Score: Combat and object destruction. You can farm points from random spawning royal guards and destroying tons of the objects scattered around Insomnia. Guardians and the final boss will reward a lot of points to this total as well. Do not enter the final battle without at least 1.4 million points in this category.
  • Max Combo: Minimum Combo Requirement of 400. It's recommended to knock this out early on. The guardian in Section A is a good place to farm it. Kill a few enemies so that you max out your spectral swords, then fight the guardian and avoid his attacks as you're building your combo. Summon Ifrit when you can, and spam attack the guardian when he goes into a vulnerable state. This allows you to easily get the minimum combo requirement for the A+ here.
  • Enemies Defeated: Minimum Enemies Defeated Requirement of 150. Easy.
  • Daemonifcations: Minimum Daemonifcations Requirement of 100. Easy.
  • Sectors Controlled: Just disable all 7 amplifiers marked on the map. Easy.
  • Undying States: This cannot happen at all in order to get the A+. An Undying State happens when your HP goes to 0 and your attacks are more powerful. The Undying State in the tutorial doesn't count.
  • Damage Incurred: Unfortunately, there is no way to track this and it's the trickiest category because of it. A+ is less than 15,000 damage, A is between 15,000 - 20,000. Use Mettle VX boosts to double down on your defense and spam Royal Retribution as much as possible in every fight. You can also reload your checkpoints if you feel like you're taking too much damage in a fight.
  • Successful Strategies: Complete all 4 tutorial goals early in the DLC before the timer bar runs out. Easy.
  • Battle Time: This is the total amount of ti me you spend in combat. A+ is 50 minutes or under. Try to avoid the enemy patrols on the map. Royal Retribution and Ifrit summoning are keys to getting battles finished quickly.

Comrades (DLC)
Beacon of Hope
Powered up all facilities in Lestallum.
Story related, cannot be missed.

Kingly Blessing
Received a Royal Sigil.
Story related, cannot be missed.

Cleaving a Path
Witnessed the awakening of King Noctis.
Story related, cannot be missed.

One with Your Blade
Crafted a weapon of Level 30 or higher.
Through the Weapon Modification system, you can use look that you gain through defeating enemies to level up your weapon. While all weapons have various max levels, getting to level 30 is fairly easy. The Katana has a maximum level of 30, so if you focus on leveling that one first this could be an early achievement for you.

Royal Retinue Rumble
Bested the Chosen King's companions.
A certain character will show up in Lestallum. Go to the Power Plant and he'll be standing close by. After you fight him and win, and obtain your precious reward, another familiar character will show up. Follow the same process, and then a third character will show. After you beat the third person, the achievement will unlock. Side note: You need to be very strong, and not just level-wise.

Let There Be Light
Amassed an output of 999,999 kW.
Another grind-fest. You will be accumulating kW via quests, and thankfully it's cumulative; go ahead and fill up the map if you want. Sadly, you can't check how much you've obtained collectively, only your present amount. You may benefit from keeping a notepad (virtual or otherwise) with the amounts that you've gained. Two easy farming missions are Roboresurrection and Ghost in the Machine, which take just a couple of minutes a piece when you have a strong party.

Come Back, Kenny!
Met the owner of the Crow's Nest Diner.
Upon completion of each mission, a character from the main story will cook for you. The character that shows up is RNG based, with Monica being the most favored by the gaming gods. Of course, you're looking for Kenny, and not the bird mascot Kenny Crow but instead the owner of the Crow's Nest Diner. He prepares burgers and fries for you and your team. However, after much research it seems there is a way to force him into being the cook, but it requires four human players; otherwise, have fun farming this one.

Complete the mission Urgent: Marauding Midgardsomr while collecting no food, either at the base camp or in the mission. This is completed with four human players.

1. - Get a group of 4 players, each having unlocked Urgent: Marauding Midgardsomr as a mission under the Old Lestallum mission list.
2. - Have each player member boot up the game and get ready to play. It's recommended to close your current game, restart the game from the XMB and load your save, rather than continue a longer already open game, to minimize any glitches that may have compiled while playing.
3. - Each player should be in Lestallum. Approach Monica and select the mission Urgent: Marauding Midgardsomr.
4. - This is the hard part... Once just ONE player joins the host room, the host can no longer retry looking for players. That means, the countdown timer on the hosts room will expire and the mission will begin. Any non-player spots will be filled with AI characters, who will collect food.
5. - In the base camp, have every member approach the barrel and begin the mission. Do NOT collect any food items using in the base camp.
6. - Complete the mission with no members collecting any food items in the mission, by pressing .
7. - If everything works, at the end of the mission all 4 players should have no ingredients in their inventory and Kenny will appear to cook for you.
Royal Pack (DLC)
Tri-Headed Triumph
Defeated Cerberus.
Story related, cannot be missed.

Maiden Voyage
Captained the royal vessel.
This is obtained once you use the Royal Vessel for the first time.

Through the Dimensional Rift
Defeated Omega.
Omega is an extra boss in the Insomnia Ruins final dungeon, and he is the toughest enemy in the game. Many people report that it takes upwards of an hour and a half to beat him. He can only be damaged by using Royal Arms, as well. Using Armiger Unleashed (Found just east of the Keycatrich Trench, northwest of Hammerhead) will significantly cut the battle time down to around 20-30 minutes. He is neither a main or side quest. Refer to the video for location information.

Speed Daemon
Posted excellent times in all cross-country test drives.
There are three Cross-Country Test Drives. For the locations and races, refer to the video guide. The "cut off" for having an "excellent" time is unknown, but the races are fairly easy.

The Power Within
Awakened to the True Power of Kings.
You will need to use the Armiger's true power with the Founder King's Sigil accessory. The statue holding the accessory is ocated near the Keycatrich Trench dungeon. After you grab it, equip the accessory and use your Armiger. Refer to the video guide for more detail on where to find the Founder King's Sigil accessory.

Narwhal Watching
Encountered Bismarck.
The quest to go watch Bismarck is located in a bar in Altissa, which is called The Second Sea God. You drive the royal vessel to quest area. Refer to the video guide for the location and playout of the quest.

Royal Pack Cont'd (DLC)
Pursuit of Knowledge
Filled 80% of the Datalog.
The datalog records notes that you find during your playthrough. Datalog entries are now designated by a yellow book icon in the field. There are 94 total datalog entries to find, which means for this achievement you'll need to find 76 / 94, or just over 80%.

The datalog does not carry across saves. Starting a New Game + or Chapter Select off a save file, however, will carry your datalog progress forward. Some items are missable, and are marked below with ** and a note about where to get the item. If you're playing an endgame / Chapter 15 save, there are too many missable items to get this achievement without using Chapter Select.

Struggling to get the "Come back, Kenny" trophy, is it possible to get it playing with the AI? It seems that the only way to get it is by playing with a full lobby of players
ILikeTurtles 4 Aug, 2023 @ 12:21pm
it's still possible to get all trophys finished it today

What's the current state of the online mode and the respective achivements?? I'm thinking about getting this game during the Spring 2023 sale in March and I'd like to make sure if the game is still fully completeable. Thanks in advance.

A word of advice to those who'd use the rubberband afk method for leveling up Survival to 10: make sure you didn't rent Chocobos before leaving your character running in circles. If you leave your game open overnight, a message will pop up after a few days to tell you your Chocobos are gone which will freeze your progress until you press a button to continue.

Here's Square Enixes own Notice of Discontinuation of Items

https://support.na.square-enix.com/news.php?id=14961&la=1&n=2&drt=1585645200&tag=83ef5a2de33e905415303bcd7b93c922d4433967

Steam is not included in this. They specifically stated Origin, but not Steam, so theres no reason to think Steam will be effected yet. The reddit post you linked has Steam striked-through so I don't know why you think that.
Also, SE says 24 June 2020, not 23.
mraow~ 7 Jun, 2020 @ 12:22pm
I've read that just now, it has "Steam" with strikethrough, and on Square Enixes own website they do not say they will cancel Steams online support for comrades, just Origins
The Horror Network  [author] 7 Jun, 2020 @ 8:21am

"In summary:

[] will be removed from all menus on XB1, PS4, and all PC versions on June 23 (UTC)."

"To be removed for PC versions:
For Steam and Origin versions only (see Update 1):

Multiplayer Expansion: Comrades online functionality. Offline functionality is still available.

Comrades online matching between Steam and Origin version servers."

Hey THN, where did you find that info about online support? On Square Enixes website I can only find that they will remove online functions from the main game (avatara), info from the title screen and online servers on Origins, and Steam-Origins cross-play on June 24th 2020. I can't see any reference to removing Steams Comrades online support
