But yes this is channeling some major Star Fox themes. What really solidifies it for me is the giant flying space head; "If I go down I am taking you with me!"

I agree, this is more Star Fox than Star Wars. Even the music wouldn't sound out of place in Star Fox.

I feel the need to make everyone aware that the first voice actor for Fox McCloud in Star Fox 64 was in fact Rick May, the same voice actor as the Soldier for Team Fortress 2.
With my comment now complete I will never be able to share that fun fact organically again.
