Inspired by some of the commenters from my "Respect the Scars [b18]" mod, who felt +10 was just a bit too much of a bonus.

This mod simply changes the negative "Social" impact of being Disfigured (i.e. facial injuries) from a -15 penalty into a +5 gain.

Because when you get injured in the line of duty, you deserve some friggin' respect. (Just maybe not as much) :P

Compatibility

This should be compatible with any mod. However, if you have a mod that also changes the Disfigured value, then put this mod *after* that one in your load order to apply the +5 "Social" gain.

Would it be possible for the value of the buff to be configurable, or must it be loaded beforehand?

Ramjax has great ideas and this mod is a great step in the right direction. Different bonuses from different people. I dont know if theres a way for if all your current colonists respect the scars that occured when they were all on the map together but strangers who join later would get a social debuff towards the person. The concept being if Joe saw his fellow colonist Pizza get mauled by a bear and have his nose bitten off hed have respect for him. But the new guy Jim who joined after and saw the guy missing a nose he would have disdain not knowing it happend as part of the colonys history. Just a thought.

My 2 cents. This mod could become one of the "Must have" if you elaborate the concept further: different cultures have different reactions to physical injuries, and this "bonus/mauls" could change with your faction: for a Pirate or a Tribal, Scars might be "impressive" and have a positive impact on "social", while a "Glitterworld" wanderer certainly could be a lot less apreciative of disfiguring wounds on someone he has just met. If you just could adapt the whole bonus/mnauls system depending on the environment, the whole thing could be a truly interesting addiction to the game.
