I did, but someone said that in the Steam release, Unlimited was unlocked from the start - no need to complete any of the Extra routes to unlock it. Seems like a strange idea to me, because the original game wasn't like that and Unlimited wouldn't make much sense without playing through Extra. I guess the devs have their reasons, though.

Having now completed Extra, Unlimited didn't "officially" unlock until I completed both Sumika and Meiya's routes - it looks very much like being able to access Unlimited before that is an error in the current version of the game.

Well, when I played the old version (Amaterasu Trans), I remembered I need to clear both before being able to proceed to unlimited.

@Jinguuji - I don't think that's necessarily an error on your part. It says the same thing on the VNDB entry for Muv-Luv - that you need to complete both Sumika and Meiya's routes before you can access Unlimited. In fact, that appears to be the general consensus of what I've read about the game online. Is it possible that it's a programming error that Unlimited can be accessed without completing the two main heroine's routes? (I'm used to visual novels having unlockable content.)

I've played Sumika and Miki's routes so far and fully intend to play all of the others too. I don't usually like rom-com, unless things turn dark and serious part way through, but to my surprise I've actually really enjoyed Muv-Luv Extra so far.

What I didn't realise is that you could access Unlimited without completing both Sumika and Meiya's routes. (I tested out of curiosity, but don't have any wish to actually play Unlimited until I've completed all the Extra routes.)
