Make (slightly) more purified water with this easy to understand, but excessively complex exploit!

Summary
This guide explains a proccess used to make more clean water from dirty water bottles, sort of. It is just a small observation on the numbers in the crafting system. If you are expecting an infinite water glitch, this guide is not for you!

What To Do
YOU WILL NEED:

- 1 empty canteen
- 5 or more bottles of dirty water

WHAT IS HAPPENING:

Creating clean canteen water requires 5 dirty bottles, and creating a clean water bottle requires 3 dirty water bottles. However, you can use clean canteen water to fill 2 clean bottles. So, you can either create 2 clean bottles with 6 dirty bottles, OR go through a canteen and only use 5 bottles. If you like being efficient and totally burning kuban energy, here is what you need to do.

THE PROCESS:

- Boil water at the pot and fire into an empty canteen to create clean canteen water.

- Use the alternate recipie for clean water to fill 2 empty bottles.
Conclusion
Thank you for reading, I hope that this helps you make slightly more water.

At the cost of twice as much Kubal Energy.

They fixed canteens, so you don't lose canteens and if you pull from a purification plant while you are only holding canteens, it fills one canteen for each water pulled. Water is exceptionally easy if you take time to gather it and have at least the second cooking structure.

Salvage missions are unlocked early on but id stay away from them untill your nearer the lvl 20 required and just progress in the story as far as possible, which of course will not only make them easier to win but because of this the yeld of materials brought back to base will be more than worth it, doing these early on not only makes them harder but because your still in the food and water loop of struggle that far from helps ether.

I guess another tip if unknown would be going to the co op staging area should your food and water be below 25% will boost them back up to 25%.

The Water around base camp where you can get dirty water seems to only last so long in the spots to the north and south, I have yet to see it return at the moment but there are many other spots in the Dust including sinks on buildings, rivers and more reservoirs where you can fill some bottles up, and they are right next to some waygates also. As you progres you will get base developments such as rain water collectors and more that help give you a supply of dirty and clean water as you go. You will still be collecting in the wilds for sure but it wil not feel as flustrating as the early game. The same also applies to animals in the wilds while its flustrating getting them to respawn over time later on, without spoling your experience as you progress your base will help you with that in some form.

@Qubeulator thank you for the heads up, Captain :bbtgem: your mileage may vary, but I think that the resources at my base camp dried up over time. Can't confirm it, however.

Progress through to chapter 7, completion will give you the campfire including pot. The Co Op staging area showing a fully upgraded kitchen I think only allows you to develop as far as you have progressed in the story, so no cooking pot means no clean water. Theres a starting area trick that usually works, nearby are 3 clean waters, 3 sheep and 2 gerbils. Simply farm the area save and exit to title screen and reload your progress and all should have repawned. This maybe patched soon. After chapter 7 you should have a few waygates unlocked with various resources that also respawn over time. When you play the game the next day(or maybe after a restart, I have not tried) simply head to the waygates and collect your resources and farm animals in the area. Over time surviving on food and water with get easier to manange as you expand your base and new developments and survivors become avaliable.

@Punished "Stubborn" Eli it is unlocked over time, as mentioned. If you want to be an absolute cheap bastard, there is a developed kitchen area you can use in the co-op staging area.
