You've heard of it before: prop boosting, prop jumping, prop flying, prop soaring. Infamously known as one of the main modes of transportation in the Source speedrunning scene, this devilish scientist (me, just to make that very clear. I am handsome.) has done the unthinkable, and has made a guide on something undoubtedly many people already know about!

DUSK, ladies and gentleman, has proven to be the testing grounds of many great exploitable tricks, well beyond simply strafejumping (come on, even your grandmother knows how to do this), such as flying over ladders by holding jump, and... literally one-hitting with a bar of soap.

But prop hopping, my friends – and yes, I am calling it prop hopping because ring-a-ding-ding it gives it that catchy fling – is completely doable in DUSK as well! Here's the scoop, the reveal, the animated pictures of Spider-Man himself performing the unimaginable.



Now, you may be wondering, is that really Spider-Man? Well yes, but it's also me. I am both the aforementioned devishly handsome scientist and your friendly neighbourhood web-slinger. Slightly cropped with luscious black bars for that cinematic feel, you can clearly see how I escape reality itself – only to observe the nighmarish oblivion, the empty void, outside – before falling back inside to turn three soldiers into cherry-flavoured... mist... lumps.

You too can perform this existential crisis-inducing party trick, with just a simple set of instructions I keep written underneath this one beautiful woman's phone number left on a napkin I picked up from a bar once! What? No, she didn't write it down for me, I just found the napkin.[1]

Listen, grab any solid object you can stand on – in the game I mean – and plant that bad boy (or girl) beneath your feet. Be it a rock, a barrel, a box, a stack of hay, it all works. Except a barrel may explode, or a box may shatter, if you're under attack. Then, all you gotta do, like plucking strings on my favourite 9-string bass, is mash between [E] and [Spacebar] repeatedly.

I repeat, it is [E] and [Spacebar].

Soon, you will have your head in the clouds, terrified at the prospect people may see up your skirt. Unfortunately, like a mime stuck in a box, some maps have a lot of invisible walls glued around them, probably because the developers hate FUN. But other levels don't, and hey, even then, you can still use this to get to rooftops or highly-elevated spots! Use this to speedrun, use this to cheat, use this to let that snooty developer know that we are in control of their universe, even if they without a doubt are aware of this very basic trick, please do not laugh at me.

For now, I must flee, in fear that I will be hunted down by the KGB or CIA, or that secret NASA you don't know about. They will not get a hold of my beautiful brain, it is mine and mine alone. 1. Unbeknownst to the creator of this guide (who from this point on will be referred to as Dr. Biggus Diccus, as per his request) I have discovered an additional line of instructions on the bar napkin, which must be enforced prior to committing the discovered actions if this is to work. Although the line is rather smudged out, presumably from Dr. Diccus weeping into it over the fact this number didn't lead him to a beautiful woman but instead a Pizzeria, I can make it out. To be able to "Prop Hop", you first must go into Settings > Feel > Vertical Flipping: and Disable it. Without doing this, the prop object will instead phase through the playable character. Thank you.
