Welcome to the basics of map making!

So before we start anything, we need to "select an Arena" to create your masterpiece in. Currently there are 7 Arenas to pick from and they have different effects on how your map may turn out. When it comes to the Blood Party Map Maker, you want to keep in mind a certain theme of your map in order to create a successful map of your liking. For example, you want to create a map that has the central theme of acid and blades, then throw in the idea of creating a maze, and then plug all those ideas together with a catchy name and then BOOM! You just created what became the biggest map in blood party history: Blade Maze. At least that's how I thought of it so quickly and took an hour to set up everything then I figured out I was really good at coming up with ideas for catchy names. So lets go over some of the maps and some good ideas for themes.

Arena of Doom
For being the first map that your likely to pick, it's really simple. It's a big open area with a small ring of acid that goes around the outer part of the arena. This one is very simple and does make a good map for enclosed buildings like if you're building a tower that Ed has to go down or a big room full of bombs or whatever. It's not the biggest map however, which is a small down side if you want to create something huge like a big project. The highest block rate (or HBR) is how high you can go for the map, the rate is only 32 blocks high. Being the lowest out of all the maps this one is more of a map for a small compacted building. It's more of either if you want to create a small map with few traps or a beginners style type of map.

Acid Arena
As said before in Arena of Doom, this map has a lot of similar features to that Arena. However, the biggest difference to this map is instead of a floor that runs throughout the whole map and also a circle outer to the middle of the acid, the whole map is completely full of acid. This map is for small buildings and other tiny maps. The Acid is actually a better bonus than having a floor because it increases the effectiveness of hammers and other swinging objects to knock Zombies down to burn up than having another chance when they hit the ground. I would pick this one over Arena of Doom for being a lot more effective when it comes to melting bones. But it still has a HBR of 32 which is still the lowest for height when it comes to building upwards.

Laserdome
This map just might be the most used out of all the Arenas in Blood Party. It's a huge open area with tons of room to create and build a huge layout for a map. This is on the larger side for creating maps and you can see why people prefer this one over Arena of Doom or some of the other maps. It's HBR is at a block rate of 80 which is mostly in the middle of the scale between most maps. This map has a good 80's theme being that Blood Party is kind of set in a retro type of world, so it's just a great all around map to have any themed elements in it.

Candy Factory
Being the largest Arena in Blood Party, it has some really great features. Having large pillars coming from the ground under, that have some great platforming, and it has most of it's flooring being completely covered by lava. Drawback: Some of the flooring is also covered by melted candy meat which allows ed to walk on top of the lava in certain parts of the map. However, with the effect of rag-doll and gravity, your most likely to go though the candy meat and catch on fire anyways. It's HBR is 60 which is just above the average of most of the Blood Party Maps. Most themes work for this map because it's huge and a good theme is usually fire, lots and lots of fire.

Box Fun
Box Fun is on the smaller side, but makes up for it's HBR for being the tallest map in all of Blood Party which is 600. This map has no flooring, so if you fall it's game over already. The floating blocks that are around the map make for a good Clown or Rainbow Square theme. Make sure you pick for your song choices between these 4 songs for your themes:
  • Sonata No.13
  • Opus
  • Moonlight Sonata
  • Prelude
These are some of the best songs for themes and also for this Arena alone, but we will get on about that a little later in this guide. But, if you really want to get the most out of this map then the only way is up. You can likely make a nice enclosed Arena or better yet a really, really, really long path way that just keeps going up.

Candy Kitchen
Being apart of an update, this was the first Arena that was not apart of the the game before it came into early access. One of the more common maps used, this map has a central theme around it with items and props that really go with this Arena that are all kitchen based. Using knives, spoons, tables, and plates will all make a great kitchen level. This map you can bend a little bit with some of the physics like going though walls and also the roof. You can really go though anything with force like a hammer or something that won't kill you in the process. The HBR is on the lower end of 45 which is the 2nd to lowest one out of the whole game. Candy Kitchen is a bigger map than Arena of Doom , or at least I think it is because of the room being a square, not a circle. Both maps are good to use, don't get me wrong, but this map is often used, so it might be the one for you!

Sky Pool
This Arena was 2nd to come out during an update with a very unique style to it. Half of the map is a pool full of swimming water, physics are a little broken if you get hit into the water and also by hitting V on your key board you do a nice boost forward to swim a lot faster. This map has the 2nd highest HBR of 150, so it's a hit to create a diving board that's really high to try and survive. You can go off the building too, you want to expand a little of the edge your welcome to. Over all this map is really cool and something that most Arenas in Blood Party don't offer when it comes to swimming lessons.

Flesh Palace
Being a brand new map that was released with the launch of the full game that was no longer in early access, I don't know very much about it right now being that I haven't worked with it yet. I know that there are a lot of different items that are fleshy and probably belonged to someone else that you can use for platforming and other things. The flooring is full of stomach acid or just regular acid, who knows. It's HBR is 60 which is in the middle of good and bad at the same time. But really you gotta explore what works and doesn't, so I have to do a little more evaluation in order to come up with if the map is just a copy of Acid Arena or if you can completely write this off as a new experience for the whole family to enjoy. But it's one hell of a awesome map, the texture looks so real while also trying to figure out who are you building in to create your map as well.
How to Control Map Maker!

This is the Map Maker, this will be your main supply of tools, traps, and factors that will all be blended together to create a masterpiece that will blow the socks off of Showmaster Hans. So, before we start anything you may want to know how to control the Map Maker itself, so I went ahead and took a bunch of screen shots to show how to work the whole thing! You will thank me later:

Show Options

Basically, I did this section for people who may not understand most of the different options/settings of the Map Maker or aren't very familiar of how this program functions. Just go over the different options by reading over and testing in phases, it's a trial and error type of learning here in the Map Maker.
Game Show Options!
This is were half of the magic happens. In the Game Show Options panel, this is where you can create your catchy map title, pick one of the many different Blood Party songs, create the time and lives limit, and also the description of your map. We will go over all of these during this section, so I won't leave one out if you have a question about one of them!

Map Name and Description
This one is self explanatory, it's what your map is going to be called and what shows on the Steam Workshop as well. If you ever wanted to change it at any time, don't worry, you don't have to enter the game and go back into the map to fix this issue. All you have to do is rename it on the Steam Workshop. It's really easy, you can click Edit and fix the Title and also the Description as well at any time once you have posted the map to the Workshop, which is why we are all here right? But, what seems to really work well to get some really good Views is naming your map something that is easy, flies off the tongue, and is also catchy. Not good at coming up with names? That alright, you will think of something at some point once you figure out which arena plus your theme that your willing to make.

Map Type
Well this is one of those settings that should be noted on the Workshop, but is in the game. Versus and Coop are the only 2 different settings at the moment. Versus is were it's you against your friends in a all out war to who can reach the goal first. Coop on the other hand is where you and your friends have to work together to reach the goal. The only difference is that you have to be alive and all players have to be together on the Goal in order to "win". If you have a friend who is stuck than chances are you might be waiting for them for a while. (IMPORTANT: right now in Blood Party there is a glitch on all maps that are Coop where it says that you have to get your friends when your playing alone making that you can't complete the coarse solo. This glitch might be fixed in a future update (if that happens). I would stick to the settings of Versus, because it's easier on everyone.

Music
Music is one of the most important things in Blood Party. Without music, it's like your playing a game that is about a zombie that is in a game show. With Music, it's like your playing a game that is about a zombie that is in a 80'S themed game show with awesome tunes to rock out with. There are 22 different song choices you can pick and they are very critical for when you pick a theme. Just to list them on how they could be themed or what I think about them, but really it's your choice because we all have different tastes in music and it's a big deal in Blood Party.

  • Killer Machine: Great song choice, it's the default song as well, but it's highly over used. If you don't know what your theme should be then chances are your gonna pick this one.
  • Night Raider: Starts off slow, but picks up quickly. There are some better songs that are similar, but it's really your choice.
  • Diarrhea Maniac: For having a really disgusting name to the song, it makes up for having a really awesome beat. Good for industrial levels and in Acid Arena.
  • Nightwaves: A really good Hammer/Laser style of song. The swinging of the hammers really links with the beat of the song for sure! Same goes for moving lasers as well!
  • Rainbow Puss: I can't put the full title since it would really be censored, but to look past that, it's actually really awesome and it works for really any level you wanna create for themes.
  • Spank me!: I actually couldn't figure out what type of theme would really work for this song, I'm not a fan of it, so it's really up to you.
  • Power Grid Theme: Bombs, Lasers, Electric Fences, Factories, all these things go great with this awesome song!
  • Run Dead Run: This song is for maps that are really extreme, like Rage Maps or something that has to do with a major test of skill in Blood Party.
  • Catch Me Hans!: It's a feel good song, really goes well with most maps that are Coop and is most likely a good run for your lives kind of style.
  • Lazer Theme: Lasers and Neon Blocks are great for this song. Also, make sure your using Candy Factory too, makes for the best themes!
  • Chillout: Did you know that I thought they just added this song in the game in the past update? That's because no one uses this song at all. Only a hand full of people which I heard this one only once or twice out of all the Blood Party Maps I've played. And I have played over 200+ so far.
  • Sonata No.13: Makes for a great Box Fun map plus a bunch of moving and still colored blocks. Some of the best designs right there! They should really add falling blocks like in the first Ben and Ed Game, now that would be awesome!
  • Opus: Bombs, Clowns, Box Fun, Colored Blocks, all of these items are great with this dance inspiring song.
  • Moonlight Sonata: One of the best songs in Blood Party, this one really hits hard as the slow beat travels throughout the whole Arena. It's always a first pick for me on Box Fun.
  • Prelude: What spells Rage when you hear this song laugh at you as you fall to your death with tons of spikes and bombs waiting for you. In other words, awesome song for Rage levels.
  • Arrival: Kind of a slow start, but really starts to pick up over time. Can't pin point a theme however, this one is on you!
  • Closing in: Good for hammers and other swinging objects that are completely unfair in every way. Just joking, but really those things are pure evil.
  • Disco moves: By far my FAVORITE song in Blood Party other then the Winning Theme. This song goes well for Skilled and Rage levels or really just slap it on whatever, it's sounds amazing!
  • Fast lane: This is my 2nd favorite in Blood party, this a good blade theme having to do with a lot of Jumping. Good for any situation.
  • Incoming: This song was made for intense game play with Spikeballs coming straight at you. Great song.
  • We are Ready: Really not much to say about this one, it's alright, can be used really whenever.
  • Trailer Theme: This one is a good one, the newest song to be released to the Map Maker and a damn good one too! Extreme levels are on their way!

Number of Players
I would be really careful when messing with this setting, the last time I tweaked this setting my game would crash when I tried to open the map in multiplayer or didn't even work at all. I would always leave this one alone or always have it set to the default of 4. But be my guest if you want to create a 2 player Coop map only or a Solo map for a party of one. I haven't tested it in a while, but mark my words don't break the system!

Lives and Time Limit
This is the bread and butter of your level. This will make it a feel free, fun, easy level or a completely crushing, skilled based, rage fest level. A mental note to all people, please don't leave the life and time limit on default, so I mean 10 minutes with 5 lives. This really bugs me, because people create a level and don't even touch the settings at all making it almost to impossible. However, that was when the game was first released in early access. Now that the game was fully released, you are really less likely to see people not touch these setting which is a really great improvement!
The Options!
I might as well go over this subject as well, since I went over all of the game show options just so I make sure I get my point across. I do agree that this guide has a lot in store, but let me tell ya it's all going to be worth it when you have a map that made it in the top Subscribed.

Save and Load
The important tool in all of Blood Party is the save tool. This tool will save your life one day, that's how important this tool means to every map maker in Blood Party. It is very important to save your work just in case you have an episode with Blood Party and the game crashes with the 4 hours you just spent working on your map. Now let me tell you if you ever wanted to ruin 5 hours of work because you didn't hit the save tool, but you wanted to try the load tool for once, then you know what's going to happen. It loads in the very last save you did, which could be good if you messed up or really, really, REALLY bad if you saved only once.

The Reset Button
So here is a question, why is there so many different tools that can ruin your whole map in less than 3 seconds? You got the load tool, crashing the game with too many items like bombs and other junk, and then there is this tool "The Reset Button". Don't like how you made your map? Well why not just completely start fresh with the Arena you had earlier. This tool is useful, don't get me wrong. It's good that Sluggerfly doesn't want us sitting there for like 3 hours cleaning our map up, so it's really a great idea.

Music OFF and Exit
These tools are self exploratory really. Don't want to listen to the same song over and over again? You have the right to turn off the music and put some your own on. However the button sometimes works while other times it will just reset the song from the beginning. The Exit Tool is where you click after a long days work in the Map Maker and will lead you to the Main Menu. However, before that it shows you a screen of do you want to save or not which is another awesome idea from Sluggerfly of coarse! Make sure you select save before you quit to the Main Menu, don't wanna lose your work now right?
Architecture!
Big Wood/Stone Flooring
I went out of my way for these next few sections to talk about each and every single different item in the Editor. I tried to take the best screen shot as possible, because the camera is sometimes really painful and fixed. Then edited out some of the HUD layer and added some text, then Encoded it into a Jpeg image because the file was too big, then uploaded to Steam which took me about 7 hours to do all that, and now I'm here telling you that story. You will thank me later for putting up with the screenshots. Now about these floor types, they are good for putting your checkpoints, goals, and start points. They are just wide enough to fit the whole thing on there. It's kind of a savior when it comes to big areas that need a lot of flooring to be put down. They are also thick, which means it's harder for Ed to fall though when he hits it too hard, but don't take my word for it, you can still go though them with just enough force.

Small, Middle, Large Sqaures
Their name is actually like that, I thought at first it was medium, but I was wrong when I went back to check their names. These are some of the best blocks for creating things with. They come in a variety of colors, but you could also pick and choose what color is which by selecting the square and on it's panel click more options then go from there. These blocks match up greatly with the Psycho theme with Box Fun and their sets of music. It's very easy however to get stuck in one of these when you hit it too hard. Be careful when using launchers and other units like it when using these blocks. But these guys are super handy when it comes to creating figures like a person or something like that!

Walls and Higher Walls
These make for an alright type of wall, kind of on the thin side, but the higher wall ensures that Ed can't throw his head over it. Couldn't say the same for it's shorter counter part, but you can really make some stacks with these babies.

Bars and Bars Hole
Sounds kind of strange, it's a really awesome type of wall. It's almost like a window really, but it has jail bars going through it. Very thin bars making it easy to go through walls if you throw your head at just the right spot to reattach it. The Bars Hole is used as a small exit for your head only, can't fit your whole body at all through it. It's themes can be golden when done the right way, like for example: Candy Factory, great map. Making a Factory level, another awesome idea. You name it, it's good.

Flooring and Square Flooring
How can you call something that is thinner than a sheet of paper flooring? By making it able to pass though multiple layers of thin sheets of paper flooring. You can tell I don't really like this flooring at all. Well it does look awesome from another point of view, but my opinion still doesn't change about it. But that aside, this flooring is smaller, meaning it's a lot more work for you to place it everywhere. I used it for roofing during a level and it did turn out alright really in the end. Still Fans, Launchers, Hammers, and other body throwing dangers are a major down fall of this flooring due to you being able to go right though it like nothing. Still does look cool though.

Huge Building Blocks
These guys are some of my favorite to use on Candy Factory or just in general really. They got some of the best design, Ed has a harder time throwing his head over these walls, and they really do look awesome in red. The Building Block 8 sides (actually it's name) is really good for check points and starting points for having space to fit it on. These guys never give me hassle when Ed gets slammed into it. They are one of the best blocks in the game and make for some really awesome themes too.

Neon Blocks
How does one bring the 80's to life while in Blood Party? Lets add these awesome Neon Bricks, they should do the trick! And yes they did with these babies, you can create your own laser light show of death for every zombie alike to burn up into ashes. But really, these bricks are super awesome when it comes to creating a light show. Just wish you could change the color from red to maybe something else.

The Columns
There are 5 different Columns:
  • Column Bend
  • Column Colorful
  • Column Shiny
  • Column
  • Column Stone
Each of them look great when it comes to platforming or just adding it as a prop or just to look fancy. I use them to make my maps look fancy or to just add some quality to it. If your map needs the spice of life, maybe it's time you look for some themed Columns!

Kitchen Appliances
Kitchen cupboard, the sink, and the dishwasher, you know the theme for these guys. Candy Kitchen, best map for these guys to settle in, it was practically made for them really when you think about it. If only there were a kitchen themed song that could be made, then you have the whole Arena at your command.

The Psycho face
One of the coolest props to come out of Blood Party, you can now make the face of your dreams while still creeping everyone out mostly. Good for the Box Fun Psycho theme and just making little monsters that have faces for Ed to jump all over.

Skull Block
Now this is what I call a platform, my most favorite block in Blood Party is the Skull platform. Good for the Box Fun Psycho Horror Show you can make in a matter of seconds when you add these guys for columns with their glowing red eyes. It's almost kind of scary to think they might be watching you in the dark, but with that high quality of purple you should be totally fine.

Meat Block
What screams more pain than a bunch of crushed up Ed's that are now forced to be used be in a map editor? Nothing actually, this the most pain in one place really. Meat Blocks were just the newest block to be released in Blood Party with the Flesh update. Let me tell you, they are one hell of an awesome block type. When done correctly, you can create a massive meat mountain and meat with meaty textures. Now that's a lot of meat!
Platforms!
Hover Platforms
It's the best of the best when it comes to transitions from one thing to another. It's blue color also looks great too when being used on Laserdome or with the Neon Blocks. It's also a handy platform for anything, you don't have to worry about putting something under it because it's always hovering!

Yellow Ramps, Platforms, and Curves
There are over 14 different sizes and scale models for these yellow platforms. They are some of the more recurring platforms in all Ed related content from the first game to really any workshop map, they all have these platforms. Some of them however are a little on the thin side when it comes to being slammed against one. It's really easy to fall though when that happens, so just keep that in mind when adding a really fast hammer next time. The cool thing is that when it comes to these platforms, you can select add trusses and it will add one for you than you sitting there placing one by one. Sometimes it works, other times is doesn't save it. But be my guest if you want to be fancy and place each one by hand, other times I don't bother with it.

Psycho Platforms
Aw how cute, we got more Psycho content to add to the list of Box Fun's Psycho Horror theme. The Psycho mouth looking thing has a spinning platform built inside of it, which causes Ed to spin around in a circle, which is just a little fun fact. Same can be said about the creepy head with the hover platforms, their just too useful!

Wood Platforms
The glory days of Ben and Ed! How much I miss those awesome wooded levels with all the hammers and acid melting everything. Still that one level with the rising acid, Oh how that does bring back the good old days. Now we got so much wood that we made an endless supply of wooden crates and other wooden products for Ed to tamper with. Anyway, I wish there were more people who used these platforms for wooden levels more often. Bring back the wood! Wood platforms are a great Acid Arena theme that is just waiting to be used!

Kitchen Table
Candy Kitchen just got a whole lot more kitcheny. Who wants to sit at the dinner table? All of us really. The huge table is a great addison to the kitchen theme with tons of ways to make a zombie feel small in a much larger world. If only there were chairs to create a full dinner scene in my Kitchen Nightmares map, then I would be golden on that part.

Flesh Platrforms
From nipple platforms to an actual half testicle, Sluggerfly does an awesome job at making platforms. I wish I could just stay on top of those bone platforms, that little tip on the end of each side always messes me up when I jump. But the Meaty theme just got a lot more meaty than ever. I just wonder were they get all the body parts.
Traps! Part 1
Spinning Blades
  • Effectiveness: 5/10
  • Skill: Basic
  • Modification: Extreme
So for each trap I will be rating each trap on 3 different factors, Skill Base, Modification, and Effectiveness. Skill Base is for how you use the trap. You can use the blades for different things and they are a really basic set of traps, but they are also the most used in the game and can be great in every situation or theme. Also it could mean how to dodge for skill, but Blades are just as easy as a jump, duck, or roll. Modification is how many options you get to change the trap setting and you can really do a number with this guy. All Blades can be set at different height to get different parts of the body, also the speed can be changed as well for how fast the blade will go. Then there is Effectiveness, which is basically just how likely your willing to get cut on this Blade. It's a 50/50 chance if you roll but a simple jump can give you a 100% dodge rate. There are 4 different Blades. There is the regular Small Blade for tiny platforms and also the Long Blade which is my favorite to use. Then the other 2 are themed Blades, there is the Kitchen Knife and the Bone Blade. The Bone Blade looks really awesome being that it just recently came out. Most of all, the Swinging Blade is the very first trap that you are likely to use and also the best trap for long walkways.

Saw Blades
  • Effectiveness: 3/10
  • Skill: Basic
  • Modification: Low
These Blades don't do the trick. They are stationary and are stuck sideways unless you use the 45 degree angle change to fix the issue. They are good for controlling areas like a fence and some places you don't want Ed stumbling upon. They are easy to dodge, they have no Modification unless you don't count turning the blade for different angles and they are very basic for traps. They work well on corners to cut off the leg, but that's the most I can think of for these Saw Blades.

Barrier and Moving Lasers
  • Effectiveness: 8/10
  • Skill: Pro
  • Modification: High
Lasers are no joking matter when it comes to Blood Party. These guys are brutal when it comes to walls and they cut though skin like no other way. When people use Lasers, they mean business. You can give them some game changing abilities like faster moving speed of the vertical or how wide the barrier is. Great with Candy Factory or Laserdome and use of Neon Blocks. You can really make a Laser light show when you add some of these babies on tiny platforms. They can cut though layers of fresh quickly and can do massive amounts of death when in large groups. The Vertical Laser goes on forever in a straight line if not tampered with, but the line will end if it hits a wall. One down side is the Vertical Laser's power source can be walked right though, which means don't place the Laser's Dishes too close to the floor.
Mines and Pumpkin Mines
  • Effectiveness: 10/10
  • Skill: God
  • Modification: Low
The most infuriating trap in the whole game are Mines. Hammers come in close second for me. Here is a trap that is brand new to Blood Party that was really needed. Mines can be triggered when Ed gets too close to them, when you walk pass a wall, under a platform, or anywhere at anytime. These guys don't mess around when your a head. You have a few chances when you still have your body, but as a head you can get blasted quickly. Don't like the regular smile face? Sluggerfly has a Halloween Skin of an explosive pumpkin to smooth your needs. I think the blast radius is larger on the Pumpkin, but that's just me. These Traps are tiny and leave behind massive amounts of death when hidden in boxes and other small concealed areas.

Swinging Blades
  • Effectiveness: 5/10
  • Skill: Junior
  • Modification: High
Don't mix up Spinning Blades to Swing Blades. They might be Blades, but they are a lot faster than the Swinging Blades. The Skill Level can go from the medium (Junior) to completely insane (God) with just the push of a button the max the speed of the Blade. The Cleaver on the other hand is a little strange at times. Sometimes you can get hit, but all your body parts are still intact. Anyway the best way to get the most out of these is when they are in groups that are going different directions or putting them on small platforms too. They are easy to dodge if only one is present. Good for any situation too!

Bumpers
  • Effectiveness: 6/10
  • Skill: Junior
  • Modification: Low
Bumpers are the kind of Trap that shouldn't be out in the open, but more hidden in a wall for Ed to randomly walk by and get pushed off a platform or something like that. Never put them out in the open, because you can jump on the pushing mechanism and be completely safe. You can also use them for a timed platform to land on that will knock you into rag doll. Bumpers will only be effective if used correctly, otherwise it's just a random stick that can be easily jumped over. I'm talking about quick time events to have Bumpers lined up to do massive amounts of pushing Ed around. Bumpers can go through walls easily and can also be measured for how far it goes over the platform. The more visible it is, the larger radius it has on the platform.

Crushing Fist
  • Effectiveness: 8/10
  • Skill: Pro
  • Modification: Extreme
What better way to flip someone off than crushing them under this rocket powered Fist. There are many levels of Modification you can add to this Fist like the time it takes to reset or how long it stalls before it drops. It's a killer when it's on tiny platforms that are the same size like the Hover Platform. You can also use them as rising and lowering platforms for Ed to jump on that can also cause him to go flying too. It's a good Trap but you can jump on top of it, however good luck staying on with the finger, and it's easy to fall right off. The Hands of Hans always cause the worst for Ed, we will get to it's counter part later.

Trap Platforms
  • Effectiveness: 5/10
  • Skill: Basic
  • Modification: Low
Trap Platforms are great for stages that have dark areas that you can hide it. Between you and me, it's super easy to not only tell it's a trap, but also dodge it as well. You want to surprise Ed when he thinks he is safe on those yellow platforms. Don't use it too often because then you will activate the players knowledge that not all is at it seems with the platforming. Be careful when placing Trap Platforms, because you want to make sure to have other traps to cause a distraction for the player to be led in a false feeling of safety. It's the best way to catch them off guard.
Traps! Part 2
Flame Box
  • Effectiveness: 10/10 to 1/10
  • Skill: Pro
  • Modification: Extreme
I had to split this apart, because Steam has a limit per section of how many words can be in a section. Anyways this is not a Flamethrower, may look like one, but it's totally different. Now the reason why I rated this one being a ten is because there is a major loop hole about the fire. You can save yourself by throwing your head while on fire and it won't count as being on fire unless you role back into the fire of course! On that note, what is recommend to do is either put a full Body Button at the end of a Fire Wall or put 2 sets of Fire Walls that are just apart from each other. If Ed gets set on fire you can also put yourself out on Skypool which is really cool, but too many times of that you will die anyway. You also have a nice steam effect to yourself once you hit the water. Fire is used to speed Ed up as he is dying very slowly while on fire as you become burnt up. It's brand new from Blood Party and you can really mess around with the settings of this one to turn off and on, how long it will last, stuff like that.

Hammers
  • Effectiveness: 10/10
  • Skill: God
  • Modification: High
It was really hard trying to take a Thumbnail for the Hammers, because they were swinging and really large. There are 4 different Hammers in total right now. A Small Hammer which is good for small platforms, a Large Hammer which are the best Hammers to use in any situation no matter what, a Meat Hammer which is Kitchen themed, and also the Flesh Hammer which is Meaty theme and the most detailed looking one out of all. The Hammer can be a pain to deal with due to the RNG, it can have you getting knocked off or giving you a warning hit. I have had my moments with these evil machines. I hate the rag doll effect sometimes when I get slammed, but you can't beat the best of the best.

Hammer Hands
  • Effectiveness: 10/10
  • Skill: God
  • Modification: High
Just like the Hammer and it's other hand counter part, this machine really takes the cake for being the most brutal and unforgiving Trap in the whole game. I hate Mines and Hammers, but this thing is the worst. Lets take a Hammer and create a different hit box on it and make it sideways to really break Ed's bones. This Trap does have a certain downfall that most people notice, which is the gears that hold it in place. It's a platform Ed can easily jump on and be safe. So a good thing to fix this is put a Saw over it or add some random Trap like a Spinning Blade on max settings. Hammer Hands have really made a name for being my most hated Trap in the game. I say it's a title well earned!

Breakable Rack
  • Effectiveness: 2/10
  • Skill: Basic
  • Modification: Low
Okay, this Trap is my least favorite, because it's configuration system is a little broken and I think it should be patched. So when you step on this platform, it breaks underneath your feet in like 2 seconds, however once broken it doesn't come back. In Editor, if you trigger it in testing mode it disappears completely and you can't see it all. I say that they should create a platform with this ability, but it spawns back after like 10 seconds of being destroyed. This might be a reason why people don't make wooden maps when they could be super awesome! I could see this being a one time use short cut, but I still feel people would get more value out of it if it could respawn.

Trap Doors
  • Effectiveness: 8/10
  • Skill: Pro
  • Modification: High
Trap Doors are used for a quick, disappearing, triggering Trap for a speed run. I like the Trap Door on the right, because once you land you got a few seconds before it closes in. The one on the left is more time based which I'm not a fan of and can really mess you up in the game. You can set for how long it's closed or open which is cool for the one on the left, but nothing for the right. I say it's one of my favorite Traps to mess around with because you can really make something special out of it.

Electric Fence
  • Effectiveness: 10/10
  • Skill: Pro
  • Modification: High
One of the most funnest Traps I have ever used. The fact that it knocks you out cold is absolutely hilarious when you can't seem to get back up on your feet. The most cruel thing you can do is put these babies on a small platform and have Ed keep tripping, because he not looking where he's going. People don't really use this Trap too often which is a shame, because this Trap is one of the most effective Traps in the game!
Traps! Part 3
The Fan
  • Effectiveness: 5/10
  • Skill: Pro
  • Modification: Extreme
The Fan is more of a useful way to push Ed above the clouds and bounce around in the air. You can invert the Fan to pull Ed into it, but I do warn you fan effects do go thru walls. This can be good to hide your fan to be a launch pad or to catch some quick air as a invisible platform. You can change the speed of the Fan too. You can get launched super high into the sky only to figure out how do I come down?

Spikeball Spawner
  • Effectiveness: 10/10
  • Skill: God
  • Modification: Extreme
For being one of the coolest traps in the game, the Spike Ball Spawner creates a projectile that comes rumbling your way. Dodging it is a different story as you become attached to the ball if it touches you. On big platforms, I have learned a trick of how to dodge them easily. Simply get close to the edge of the platform that's going up, then crouch the whole way there, and you are sure to make it in one piece. The Modification system has many settings with the Spawner, like how long is the balls lifespan, or how long it takes to generate another Spike Ball. There can only be around 5 per map, because the game would really start to lag up. The more Spike Balls, the slower the map will run. I will say that you should never put a platform that can cause a Spike Ball to get caught, because it makes a really awful sound that is annoying to hear all the time, so just keep that in mind.

Moving Blocks
  • Effectiveness: 7/10
  • Skill: God
  • Modification: Extreme
Another good Psycho Box Fun themed item that can come in handy when moving Ed from one place to another. This isn't one of my favorite traps, because it takes a lot of practice to ace the jumps when the block can easily be moved out underneath your feet. It's a pain, but it does get the job done and there is a lot you can do with it. For example, like change it's color and speed (something that is completely broken sometimes), ans stuff like that. I wouldn't say it's a bad trap, it's actually one of the more advanced traps to use and set up for extreme map making by measuring out how far from one block you need to jump to the other.

Hot Plates
  • Effectiveness: 3/10
  • Skill: Junior
  • Modification: Low
It's a Kitchen themed item that causes you to catch on fire like the Flame Box. Only thing is that it's really easy to dodge rather then a Flame Box. I would say that if you want the most out of this trap, what you need to add is something that will cause Ed to turn into a rag doll or cause him to land on a Burner. I'm talking Hammers, Bombs, Electric Fences, stuff like that. The Hot Plate does look great when placed with the Kitchen Cupboard, I will admit that!

Bubble Spawner
  • Effectiveness: 10/10
  • Skill: God
  • Modification: Exteme
Ah the Bubble Spawner, Blood Party's newest addition to the trap family. Also, one of the more awesome traps on the list as well. I haven't really messed around with them as much before, but what I did test with them however, I found it to be very over powered or just more on the total panic side of Blood Party. These Bubbles can go thru walls and if Ed gets too close or the Bubble reaches it's lifespan, then it tends to explode like a Mine or something causing Ed to be knocked off a platform or even worse, exploded. I will hand it to Sluggerfly, I did not see this type of trap coming to Blood Party to be a really big game changer. Chickens and Bubbles are a really good combo too, that's what I have learned about them so far. You can also edit the lifespan and also how fast they spawn too!
Interactive! Part 1
Buttons
Buttons are a much more technical aspect when it comes to Blood Party. They create a side objective for the player other than the Goal to keep in mind. There are 6 different types of Buttons that will be explained for their different qualities. A Toggle Button, a Single Use Button, a Head Button, a Body Button, a Four Way Button, and a Fake Button (more on that later). Toggle Buttons can be pressed multiple times to open or close gates, raise or lower platforms, and continue the way forward. A Single Use Button will open gates and other things, but will only be activated once by pressing it. The Head Button takes the Single Use Button a little farther and you can only press it with your head. If your body touches it there will be a very loud alarm. Then there is the Body Button or Full Body Button that can't be pressed without having at least one other body part still intact. All these Buttons will trigger Platforms and Gates. However, the Four Way Button and Fake Button will not open Platforms and Gates. The Four Way Button has a very special function that only allows the Movable Platform in the interactive section to move in which the certain color has been pressed, then it will go in that certain direction. Four Way Buttons should only be used in Coop maps or if you know how to create a Run and Die section of your map which I will go on more about later in Trap Design and also about Fake Buttons too later in Interactive.
Warning:
The use of Buttons on maps sometimes can get really messed up with the wiring, causing the door to sometimes not open or what the function you intended to do with it may not happen. This is an easy fix, because the Button sometimes locks onto other doors that may have no Buttons or already have a Button. Buttons can only support 4 spaces per Button. So, that means to stop the Button from locking onto other targets you might want to max them on doors by placing random doors outside the map or by hiding them so they aren't out in the open. I'm not sure if this has been patched yet, but this is the way I have figured out how to fix this. I have had a few people come forward about this issue again recently and Sluggerfly might want to fix this aspect about that.

The Abilities
Being that Multiplayer was introduced into Blood Party there has to be ways to mess around with your friends. There are seven different items that can help you make your Blood Party experience a little more fun.
  • Chicken Power: Who ever thought you would see a zombie pick up a Chicken and fly away with it? Well this ability allows Ed to jump higher and also be able to land slower causing him to not die from high areas. It's also a good mechanic for different traps like Hammer Dodging, Bubbles, and Jumping High Walls. The only thing about Chickens is that they don't last very long, so make sure your fast on your feet when you pick one of these guys up. Also,
I would tell you to be careful on your placement, because it's very easy to fly past a lot of traps with these guys.
  • Acid Syringe: One of the projectile weapons in the game. There are two effective ways of using the Syringe:
    1. Run into any other Zombie and the Syringe will be stuck inside them and their head will slowly begin to swell up till it explodes. However, in this process you will lose your Syringe.

    2. By clicking the left mouse, you can shoot acid from a range and anyone who walks over it will melt right away, even by you running into it will cause that too. If you hold the right mouse, you will switch into a aiming prospective of Ed and have a much better chance of hitting your target from far away.
It's a control based weapon to fight Chainsaws and also Spoons even though it's really easy to get nailed with the rag doll hit box. But still a really awesome weapon, one of my favorites at least.
  • Spoon Party: Just like the regular push attack Ed comes with, but times that by 10. Then you almost have a Baseball Bat that can earn you a home run very easily.
  • Chainsaw: This weapon can be used in 2 different ways. As an attacking ability or a Box Cutter. The Chainsaw will rip your friends apart side ways with a left click while sawing them down the middle with a right click. Now about the Box Cutter, Wooden Crates are no easy joke to mess around with in this game. Wooden Crates can be used to block Buttons just as well as a whole door. The Chainsaw is the only thing that is able to break boxes at the moment. I haven't tested the Flamethrower to see if they have an effect on them. But, the Chainsaw is your best bet when it comes to love and a heart breaker.
  • Shotgun: A lot like the Acid Syringe, but it differs by not leaving pools of Acid behind. Instead it's a long range attack that can stop Zombies in their tracks. You can either left click for a burst shot that has not aim that close or right click for an aiming shot that will give you a better chance at hitting your target.
  • Pogo Stick: The coolest item in Blood Party is the Pogo Stick. You can jump and run with it to reach new heights. It reaches even higher when you time your space bar when you hit the ground to create a massive jump into the air. Will warn you that Pogos sometimes can cause a down fall of a map without proper way of disposing them. Usually, a good way to do this is making a roof that isn't jumpable and the Pogo will be disabled once it hits the low roof. If that can't happen, just make a really small door way for them to bounce off of or a long fall for them to lose the Pogo.
  • Flamethrower: The newest weapon from Sluggerfly allows you to have a Flame Box at your disposal. You can burn your friends or yourself if they get the idea to run into you. It has no ammo to reload. So, it's a constant beam of fire that also can be aimed like the shotgun, but doesn't need reloading.

The Meat Grinder
This trap like machine allows Ed to waste a life on creating a pushable Meat Block that allows him to jump on it to get to an area that might be out of reach or needs to press a Full Body Button without throwing your head. It can also be used as a trap, but a little more into that later in Trap Design.
Interactive! Part 2
Trampoline and Launcher
These two items effect Ed in the same way of allowing him to jump much higher than usual. However, the Trampoline (one on the left) is a much shorter jump that will 100% allow Ed to land and not fall to his death on the same level. The Launcher (one on the right) throws Ed really high into the air to reach higher ground if needed or could be a trap of it's own with landing directly on the bounce pad. Anywhere else on the Launcher if located on the same level as the other Launcher will result most likely in death. Both of these are good transitions from one place to another while causing the player to really measure the range he has on each jump.

Breakable Wall
I have't found this item to be very useful in anyway possible other than rolling into the Breakable Wall to and breaking thru it like we were able to in the first game. I guess somethings need to make a return, like those wooden levels that I want so badly on the Workshop.

Big and Small Gates
Gates are a good way to close off part of the level for the player to change direction other than going forward to the Goal. Kind of like a side mission that gets in the way of the actual mission, almost like a side quest. Preforming different tasks can really create some special trap rooms that can cause smaller doors to be open leaving the one big door in the middle to still be closed. To put in context: Gates are your best friend when it comes to complex maps.

Special Platforms
When I say "Special Platforms" I actually mean they have really special characteristics about each one. The Movable Platform that I talked about in Interactive Part 1 is controlled by using the Four Way Button and is piloted by a friend while you survive what you face as the platform slowly moves in the direction that has been directed to go. The Trigger Platform (one on the far right) is used by the Toggle Button to raise or lower the platform to get to certain areas. Then there is the Two Player Platform that surprise, surprise, it needs 2 players to move upward that is usually used in Coop. No buttons or magic needed, only the power of friendship is all you need.

Movable Blocks
They can be a little buggy sometimes if you put a bunch of them together, but I would say you should stick to using the Meat Grinder for Meat Blocks than these guys. Just in case, the block might fall off or something. Also, it prevents lag as well if you didn't know. Put too many of these and you can crash your server! Same functions as the Meat Block, but a little more funny to look at as it trembles with joy as you touch him. Weird.

The Cannon
The Shotgun not powerful enough for you? Well this Cannon will do the trick. As it has been proven to send your friends flying to another dimension. As well as sending yourself flying if you aim too low to the ground. I would watch where you point that thing too. You are also not invincible either, it didn't work out so well last time I took the Cannon for a spin. The Cannon sends out huge Cannon Balls that blow off chucks of your friendly Zombies and also do blast damage if you land a shot close to them.

The Suicide Button
Okay, I mentioned about there being 6 buttons in total, but there are actually 7 including this non-looking button thing. I have used this thing once and it does say what it does. Walk into it and it kills you, SURPRISE! Yeah, I don't count this to be a thing worth your time to try and figure out what to do with it. As a matter of fact, I don't really see a point to it, because you can just hit enter and respawn anyway. I will never understand this Button.

Boxes and Candy Meat
Bring back the the O'l Sweet Candy Meat! Instead of collecting all those little stacks of cans, we now use them to refresh our energy that we use to run like hell. Before they were just there to knock over really before the kitchen update I think. Then the Boxes I already explained in the Chainsaw passage which you can read in Interactive Part 1. Boxes are used to block stuff off and make the Chainsaw a more useful tool. Candy Meat and Boxes really do go together for Factory themes, it's a real nice work of art.

Fake Buttons
Fake Buttons were released during the Halloween update, a Button that has no meaning to it at all. It is highly funny to watch people freak out as a jumpscare pops up randomly to frighten you. I wasn't able to find a picture or pull one up but you can simply go on Sluggerfly's Twitter and look at the picture there. I always wanted a Button that actually did nothing. Make a whole room full of buttons and only one opens the door. However, with that glitch where an empty Button would get sucked into having all the Buttons open that door would really ruin it for me. But, now I can finally make that dream of Button World a reality maybe..?

Decorations!
Glow Items
Decorations are very important when it comes to your map, it sets you aside from others that just might be similar to it. For Example: let's say someone had the same idea as you for a level based off the use of Chicken and Bubbles, but didn't put the time and effort to create a theme using the Decorations. Guess what? You ended up creating a map that has lots to look around and is a lot more pleasing to play with Decorations that all tie back to a theme that they were assigned. The Glow Wear, mostly the Glow Skull, Glow Arrow, and Glow Circl are all neon themed. They are a great Laserdome attachment and for any level to keep the player from wandering off the path with Glowing Arrows. It also makes people think that you spent a lot time and effort on the map as well. Glow Skulls are fun to place and Glow Circles do play a very special role too. Added in an update, the Glow Circle can now knock Ed into a deep sleep or just send him into rag doll form for a few seconds. It's like a trap, but a Decoration. It must be one killer circle! Another thing to note about the neon subject is that you can change the color of each item to a red, blue, green, or a mix of anything. Only problem is that it reverts back to a color of blue sometimes.

Pipe Line
People have learned to take this Pipeline and really make something out of it. An Air Duct that you can throw Ed's head into or just used as a unstable platform when Blades or traps have been added. I've seen this has become a trend lately and I do enjoy the use of something that people are being creative with their traps and objectives. Some people go as far as to create a pick a pathway to take to the Goal or next Checkpoint, which is very smart indeed. I use the Pipelines for Factory based levels that I create or for just some random effects.

Arrows
It's always nice to have a point of direction, so that you might not get lost in a map. This is one of the more important items you may want to add, so that you can lure people's attention to a certain area or way. They also bring back a lot of memories too from the first game. That Art Style will never get old.

Stand Up Props
Making your own little neighborhood or just trying to earn Trash Master by placing a bunch of Trash Cans? There are Rocks, Fake Grass, Stand Up Trees, Prop Up Bushes, and more. More of a random placement sometimes, but you can use them when you can't think of a central theme of your map. Trust me, I've been there before.

Random Props
Some Props I couldn't pin point where I should group them together, so I just made them all together and called it Random Props. You got a Psycho Head, a Target for landing purposes, Light Rods to make things have a glow to them, a Disco Ball for the bloodiest party ever, and a Statue of Showmaster Hans to remember what we are doing. All of these are good items to use for themes and remember: "there is no such thing as being too random with placement".

The Adverts
It wouldn't be a Ben and Ed game without it's random Adverts that creep mostly everyone out. I myself, find these Billboards to be very important if you want to give the theme of a Sluggerfly based map (kind of like the first game) or you just want to fill up some empty space. I like how each Advert has it's own personality that all have something to do with product placement or just something that is unexplainable with words. A good way to improve the signs is to add a Light Bulb Bar or a Zigzag to really sparken the mood of the sign. The better the lighting, the more fancy you are!

Kitchenware
Well, you know the theme by reading the name already. We are talking Glassware, Knifes, Forks, Plates, a Huge Knife, etc. I like using the Knifes and Bigger Knifes as platforming on a side of a wall. It's very challenging to pull off some of those jumps, because the Knife is so thin that it can mess up Ed in the process of some of his jumps. Creating a Kitchen theme would be needing tons of Kitchen themed items and Sluggerfly really did well with this idea of creating a whole kitchen set to play with. We would have to experiment with it, till we have the ultimate Kitchen Masterpiece.

The Eye Ball
The Flesh update brought a ton of really weird platforms and Meaty items, but the Eye is one of my favorites. You can have rounded platforms now and have a blast with the Eye watching Ed the whole time. You could almost make a complete face with everything you got here. I do have to say, it is a little creepy to know that Ed might be actual size when comparing to the Eye Ball. Are there giant people being cut up and used as parts? What an unsettling thought!
Construction!
Beams, Trusses, and Wooden Planks
So, you want to be the highest level of fanciness or do you want the smallest platforms in the game? Beams, Trusses, and Wooden Planks are the final step you can take to create the most complex level as possible. I mean like a Sluggerfly level kind of complex. The Trusses can be added manually or by selecting the Yellow Platforming and checking the add trusses button. Sometimes it works and other times it doesn't, so your best bet is to add it yourself. Beams can be good for platforms or even columns too. Then there are Wooden Planks that are for the Wooden theme as always. There are many different sizes of Trusses, Planks, and Beams that can be used as Platforms, Decorations, and many other uses.
Special!
Level Thumbnail Camera
Okay, it is time for the most important type of items in the game that can make or break your map. In order to save your game in the Map Maker, you need to set up a Goal that doesn't have to be reachable, a Starting Line, and also a Level Thumbnail Camera. The Camera has been updated to show you what your picture is going to be like when you set up the camera. Don't worry about placement of the camera, it becomes completely invisible to the player when you start playing it. You could settle for the thumbnail you get when you prop the camera up or go onto the Steam Workshop and create a thumbnail. Though some type of editing software is needed and then upload it there to look a little different from some of the others. It's always nice to see someone put time and effort at perfecting their layout on the Workshop to look a lot more professional. I would maybe do that in the future for my maps when I release a package of them together.

Starting Point
Another basic thing you need to save your game, it's the very first Checkpoint you start at. To put it in better words, if there was no starting line there would be no race. When placing the Starting Line, make sure you have a good opening of what is to come. This is so people don't find it boring and leave. Make it something awesome.

The Goal
Ah the Objective, the one other thing you need to save. The Goal should be reachable in the final version when you go to release it to the Workshop. Never have an incomplete map that is on the Workshop. It may cause a lot of confusion of how does one make it past a very large door with no Button. You see a little Captain Steaky sitting where Ben use to be as your prize!

Checkpoint
The middle man, the slope in between, the one of many things that you don't really need, but will be all worth it to move a little closer to the next point or even closer to the Goal. Checkpoints are very important to the structure of the map and are most likely needed for long maps and less likely for smaller maps. Will say don't be too greedy or to light on Checkpoints. Sometimes too many or too little may be a little unfair.

The Death Gate
The Death Gate is a very certain type of item used for a certain type of gameplay. There are 3 different types of maps you can see in Blood Party, there is the Coop Map, the Versus Map, and also the Arena Battle Map. The Arena Battle Map type is a battle to the death with weapons and abilities that are used to make you the last standing Zombie. Once the other players are out of lives, the gate will open for whoever was last standing. However, it doesn't mean your done there. There could be that there is still more to see after the gate, but that's the map maker's decision to do! There can only be one gate per level.
Trap Design (Beginner's Level)
Okay, this section didn't go to plan as I wanted it too. I was going to create Gifs and Pictures for the different Trap Designs, but that fell under the 2 MB rule that Steam has. So, that means I can't upload a picture or a Gif for my explanation. However, that wont stop me from explaining it the best I can through words and also a blueprint designed to the best of quality by your's truly. I made sure that all of these designs have been tested and also selected them through a rating of difficulty for Beginners to Professionals.

Air Dunk
The Air Dunk is a Fan based pattern of moving to the left and right to dodge walls that have Hammer Hands attached to them causing Ed to be knocked into a rag doll and sent flying. It's very simple to set up and is usually made on higher ground, so that Ed has a 100% death rate of a very simple but effective trap. This trap can become fancy quickly by adding signs and other items to the attachment. Make sure the walls are thick, so that Ed can't land on the Hammer's control box. It's the only loop hole in the whole trap that Ed can take a break from flying. Don't be shy when messing around with the Fan's speed to mess up the player's pattern of back and forth.

Blade Board
Blade Board's purpose is to fill simple gaps that have no traps. By having an assortment of blades to replace that empty space. You see this from tons of people who create maps. It's the most common trap in the game, other than a single hammer sometimes, but you get the idea. You can take this trap to the next level by adding Hot Plates, Trap Doors, and other things like that.

Bomb Crates
Bomb Crates are a masked version to take your Zombie off guard to stun them. I would say that you could also place Mines underneath platforms or even inside walls to randomly blow chunks out of Ed. The Chainsaw is in addition to the trap by knocking Ed out of Chainsaw mode that he would of used easily to cut though the Crates to find the Exit. It's very easy to make Ed lose a few lives by hiding Mines in Crates as protection or even under platforms too.

Laser Grid
It's basically a bunch of Lasers and Bars to walk on for a Factory themed trap or just a super simple Laser trap set for Ed to walk through. I enjoy a quick Laser segment to shake up the difficulty of your map. Lasers are one of the more experimental traps you can work with when building your map!

Launch Track
Launch Tracks can be used not only by the Launcher (is the more effective version), but also the Trampoline as well too! If you want an area to make Ed fly fast and also cause the most pain in a big open area then these are your picks. Sluggerfly did a great job doing this in some of their maps that they have made some far like "Fun" with that final segment to the Goal with all the Launchers ready at your disposal.

Pogo Platforming
The Pogo is a very fun item to use. It can also be a curse as well once you have placed them in your map. Two things that go together in Blood Party is Pogos and Moving blocks. Theses two can create a better version of just having a few small platforms that can hit or miss. But with the Moving Blocks it always be unpredictable when you jump up.

Spikeball Launcher
Ever wanted random Spikeballs flying past you in your map? Well a Spikeball Launcher should do the trick. All you have to do is set it up and then it will cause a lot of friendships to be destroyed once added. The Flame Box adds a disapproval of ever trying to make it up the ramp for an advantage to use to get further. You could go further and add Hammers to knock the balls around to different directions to make them super unpredictable. Trust me it really works!
Trap Design (Intermediate Level)
Blade Board Deluxe
Unlike it's counter part, the Deluxe Version is much more deadlier with Trap Doors and Hot Plates than having a regular old Yellow Platform. I enjoy this one much more, because it has the spice of life to it and isn't that common than the Blade Board that you see too often. I would say to improve your skills at the Blade Board make sure you test with different trap combinations to make a much more effective trap design.

The Bubbler
The Bubbler is still being tested by a few Map Makers to really get the effectiveness out of it, since the Bubble Spawner is such a new addition to the trap section. I would still say that a wall of bubbles that have a short fuse on them are some of the most deadly traps you can have at the moment. Sending Bombs that either blow up on impact or can go off at anytime must be one of the most unpredictable types of traps in the entire game so far. Who knows what is to come next?

Eletro Platforms
Hover Platforms with Electric Fences on them can be some of the most luck based jumps you could almost ever make in Blood Party. A 25% chance of sticking the landing while the odds are 75% against you as you land and trip off the side of the platform so easily. It can also be used on other square based platforms with the one size fits all rule that the Fence has. I say this trap has an electrifying turn of events.

Flame Run
Used a lot in some of the maps made by number #1, "Sluggerfly". It's a really awesome design, but it has some flaws to it that I think I can tweak a little. The flaw is that Ed can catch on fire, but still live by throwing his head and cheesing it the whole way there. Now I have came up with an idea to force Ed to stay in complete form by adding Fire Walls throughout the segment. This helps keep Ed on his feet by running with Bombs and Gaps to slow him down. Make sure Candy Meat Stacks are added, so that Ed can run like hell to save his life as he speed runs thru it. Don't make them too long though, because Ed does have a short amount of time to live while on fire.

Spikeball Stopper
The Spikeball Stopper is mostly used to bring a Chainsaw up to an area that Ed would have a much harder time concentrating with the Spikeballs coming down on a narrow pathway. The use of the Stopper will allow Ed to switch objectives. This will first make it to one point to bring the Chainsaw to the door or whatever your willing to do with the Stopper. It's your map to have fun with.

Thin Line Way
Hammers with small platforms, always a recipe for disaster. Small platforms with huge traps always make a large difference in skill of reaction time. Try not to freak out to keep your chill going when the stakes get thin. Get it? Thin? No? Well, I thought it would be funny to keep that in there you know ;). Any small platform, any trap, any theme, any time, it's the most suiting design plans for those who need a good rage once in a while.

Vine Stock
The Vine Stock is a very complicated ladder with a lot of bonus content to it that can really make some one wanna scream loudly. I've been there and you as well maybe. It's made up of Small Squares and Bumpers to lift you sky high. An awesome theme would be the Psycho Box Fun theme. I will tell you that you might want to make sure you test it before hand by making sure all jumps are possible and doesn't need to be overthinked either.
Trap Design (Professional Level)
Bumper Bouncer
Okay, this trap can be near to impossible sometimes, because of the Bumper's face being really tiny and it's timing as well. I have tested it countless of times. It's super effective on maps that have a lot of acid or just a drop off point like Sky Pool or Box Fun. This is one of the most deadly designs that can take hours of perfecting your Pogo skills to take on a massive jump per platform. I even had a lot of trouble just pulling it off the couple of times I've built it in testing lately. It's experimental, but super fun.

Chicken and Bubbles
Once I heard that the Bubble Spawner was in the game, an idea came straight to my head, "Chicken and Bubbles would be something really special" and guess what? They are! I have never had some much fun messing around with Chickens by adding platforms that Bubbles can just pop and knock you straight out of the air so easily. It's full design is a work in progress, so you can come up with an actual design for yourself.

Crushing Fist Platforms
Whoever knew that a Crushing Fist would become the only platform that moves up and down by itself without any Buttons needed. It's a good idea to mess around with theses babies to really make a master piece of raising and lowering platforms. Take advantage of stuff like this to let your imagination run completely wild!

Hammer Launch Pad
How I miss the Cannon from the very first game. People have discovered that if you max a Hammer on it's settings that it can become a Body Launcher. It has a lot of bad luck when it comes to me trying to figure out the proper way of use. I never used this Launcher before, but have tried it a lot in the Workshop and I have a ton of problems when I go to use it. If you have better luck than me at Hammers than be my guest to use this design, because it's out there and it's coming straight at you.

The Hammer Platform
Other than the Launch Pad there is a another Hammer type of design called the Hammer Platform. They are flipped on their side and speed is lowered in order to land on it and not go flying off like some kind of lunatic. I have always had a lot of bad luck with rag dolls and just Hammers in general. If you know what your doing with these platforms then you are making some serious progress with your map making skills my friend!

Toggle Saw Blades
The Trigger Platform is just a trap with a lot of wiring needed to pull it off. However, when you add Saw Blades to the bottom of each of them then you just made a very dangerous trap. I first discovered this design from a fellow map maker Vanacard, it was the first time I have ever seen it and I think it should be shared as being a very professional trap design by a fellow map maker. It has no flaws what so ever and relies on communication from teammates in Coop. If you want to see a good example of this, then try the map called Coop Candyroad. This is where it was the birth place of this trap design and also where it shines mostly.

Vine Stock 2.0
This trap is actually created by your's truly, Flurry65! I was testing and messing around with the Vine Stock design and thought "how would trap doors work with this design?", a few stages of testing then BAM! I got myself a trap design that needs the most concentration to time each jump as you go around quickly and as fast as possible. I made sure to check the other maps around the time I first released the design just to make sure I could say I'm the founder of it at least. If someone beat me to it then that's fair. A little while later after the map had been up for a few months, I started to see a more complex version of it using a much larger tower with the Pogo. I'm happy that someone built upon what I created just like how I did the same with the Vine Stock. I'll link the map I've created when I first tested the Vine Stock 2.0, so you get a good feel of it.

There are many more trap designs out there I that could have picked or chosen. So many designs, yet so little space for me to type each section. I would say a good way for inspiration is to check the Workshop on a regular basis for ideas of how you could take something and recreate it in your own way. I'm not saying just go steal a design from someone and call it your own. I'm saying let your mind put together some ideas into one and then come up with your very own design that's your own. That is the way of a good trap maker, always think 3 steps ahead of the player!
Suggestions of Mine!
So this section of the Guide is more of a place for me to share some ideas of my own that could spice up the world of Blood Party! I have a list of items that I feel should be in the game as a suggestion for an update in the future. I made Blueprints and of course if Sluggerfly ever wanted to add them, it would be awesome. I would be fine if they tweak a few things about the ideas as well! So, lets kick it off with some awesome ideas and some great aspects!

The Crossbow
The only type of weapon that is not in the game other than a melee or ranged weapon is a sniper like item. So, I put together the idea of the Crossbow being a sniper like ability to use bolts to snipe Zombies and also pin them against walls. Going thru flesh would be an awesome effect to see Ed go flying with a bolt just to pinned against a walk helpless. It would really make up for the range of the Shotgun when your trying to hit someone far away. I would get a kick out of it and I think so would a lot of people too. To balance the range on the Crossbow, the reload time would have to be a little longer. So, that you can't go popping off people so quickly to make it unbalanced. Another concept I had was some kind of harpoon gun that could go through flesh like the Crossbow, but I think the Crossbow fits the Zombie theme a little more.

Ben and Ed Original Items
I couldn't think of a blueprint for this one, but you can get the jiff of it. I would love to see the glory days of Rundead come back to us through the Map Maker with items that recall a lot of memories. The Launch Cannon would be awesome to see and I know for a fact, you guys wanted to use the Shark Cannon a little more in a past Tweet you guys sent out too. I'm just saying, it would be an awesome thing to see all those cut out Ed's everywhere with those rad checkpoints. Maybe a Killer Clown if you ever get the chance for a round 2! I feel it would bring a lot more people to the editor to create something special.

Showmaster Mansion
So, I was thinking of a catchy map name one time and then some how I starting thinking about what would Showmaster Han's house would look like. Then it hit me when I was trying to pick a map that would really shine and I mean SHINE! A map completely filled with a gold texture of all the that money Hans made before he fell into despair or whatever happened once Rundead came to a close. He wanted to blow his money on the biggest Mansion, so he built a huge room head to toe covered in gold with a statue of him putting his hands up in the air, and I know for a fact you guys have a model of that ;). It's just a concept and I know the name is catchy. So, I tired my best with the blueprint to see if I could recreate the image I had in my head and I think they could build off of it.

Launch Cannon / Launch Pad
Instead of people using that really annoying design of the Hammer being a makeshift Launcher, why not just add something that can knock Ed from a very large distance or something close to that. I'm talking about bringing back the Cannon we used in the first game to launch ourselves throughout the game. Even a launch pad that makes Ed run at sonic speed, but then he runs so fast to the point he gets ignited or something like that. Anything but that Hammer Launcher, please XD.

Fog Machine
You know, a Fog Machine could really do you good. Think of all the traps you can hide in the mist of the blank void. Mines that are totally hidden, Blades that are camouflage, things like that can really scare the player into thinking once or twice before you set forth into the fog next time. I say that I would be scared to step forward into the mist. I also tried my best at a really weird looking Fog Machine to keep Sluggerfly's art style. The art style really pops in this game, which is a theme I want to keep going and not make a simple Fog Machine that it looks like you could pick up at your local convenience store.

The Wreaking Ball
A ball that wreaks, it could be the next best thing you have ever made. I came up with this from being able to pick up Spikeballs and throw them around like a maniac. Then I thought, "I wonder if you tied a chain to this how well it would do?". Then I figured why not add the old ball chain. I even went to the extreme to figure out what would be the most emotional face to put on the side of the ball, which was almost like a sad Zombie face or whatever I created. It's for you to figure out not me XD.
Thank you!
I just want to say thank you Sluggerfly for everything you have done so far with Blood Party. It has been a pleasure playing your game and working hours and hours of map making in one of my favorite stories so far that I've played. I was really in a low point of my life and after you guys made this game and my map shot off like a rocket I knew what I wanted to do. So, this is one of those things that's a really important life moment for me. I finally was doing what I loved by making content for YouTube. It's been a blast meeting all these people and having a ton of fun playing Blood Party. It's all thanks to you guys! The first game has a very special place in my heart and this game as well. I can't wait to say the same once you guys release the new platformer you have been working on with the Red Demon. I would also like to thank the people who have supported my maps and also the channel as well too. It's been a honor running the Spotlight Showcase, but I say that journey is coming to an end in soon. I will always treasure the moment when I heard you guys were making another Ben and Ed. I was almost jumping for joy and I'm really happy now that I have finally completed a months work of research with tons of hours of screenshot editing, tons of writing, blueprint ideas, and all that kind of stuff. So, for my final last words I say, "thank you Sluggerfly and everyone for all of your support and progress of making this an awesome experience, thank you"!

P.S: Shout out to JoeVagian, for being my personal favorite music designer from Blood Party/Ben and Ed. I couldn't tell you what my favorite song is, because I really enjoy all of them and I really like the distinct sound you add in most of your songs to tell it was made by you. Will always be my personal favorite. But all the songs in Blood Party are awesome to hear, just saying.

Definitely either German or Spanish to start with. I will say though credit goes to them as a lot of them are good at speaking English

I'm glad that everyone is enjoying the guide so far! If the guide gets a lot more support in the future, I'll think about doing a translation for the guide maybe. Only thing is that I'm not sure what language I should do.
