Intro
If you've tried to take a screenshot while playing Unreal Gold, you've probably noticed that your game will do weird things, like make the screen brighter. Here's how to fix that.
Finding your Unreal Gold folder
Finding your keybinds requires that you go into your Unreal Gold folder. If you used the default install location, follow this guide to find it:

1. Go to your C drive.
2. Click on Program Files (X86) (or Program Files if you don't have Program Files (x86)).
3. Look for the "Steam" folder and click on it.
4. Click on the "steamapps" folder.
5. Find the "common" folder, then open it.
6. When you're in the "common folder", look for the "unreal gold" folder and click on it.

This is what you should be seeing when you're done:

If you installed it somewhere else, ignore this. You already know where your Unreal Gold folder is.
Finding your keybinds
Now, we'll need to find the file that has all of the keybindings.

When you're in your Unreal Gold folder, look for a folder called "System" and click on it. You'll end up in a folder filled with all sorts of files.

There's one file called user.ini that has your keybinds. Something in user.ini is causing problems when you take a Steam screenshot, so you'll need to go into it and fix the problem.

You can find user.ini by either searching for it in your file explorer, which looks like this:

or you can scroll to the bottom of the folder and find it manually.
Making Steam screenshots work
Once you've found user.ini, click on it and it'll open. Scroll down until you find the key you use to take Steam screenshots on the left side of the document. For example, if you use F11 to take screenshots, look for F11 on the left side of the document.

When you've found they key you use, look for text that's to the right of the = sign that's next to the key. Highlight it like this

then press delete.

Now, click on "File", then click on Save.
Test it
Now, turn on the game and take a Steam screenshot. If you did it right, you'll take a screenshot without anything weird happening. You're done!
Note
When you're browsing user.ini, you may find a key with "Shot" to the right of it's = sign. This is not the way to take Steam screenshots. Ignore it.

If still not working, just use the game console and:

set input F11 +enter
set input F12 +enter

It doesn't work. I delete the binding for the key in user.ini, restart the game, but the steam screenshot key still doesn't work.
