Overview & Necessities
In this totorial I'll be showing you the no nonsence stright forward guide to modding your montaro's game save.

Sadly, because of the format of the save, there has been no public inventory/save editor for this game on the market. After finding many have had this issue (For various reasons), and with no other tools or guides out there, I bring you the super simple and easy solution. With that being said, here are the basic tools you will need for this project.

Tools needed:
- SqliteBrowser[sqlitebrowser.org]
- Notepad++[notepad-plus-plus.org]
Step 1 - Clean root save folder
Because of how montaro loves not saving/reading data, we will need to clean the root save directory.

First open the directory: C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Montaro\User Data\Default
- In this folder delete all files and sub-files.

Step 2 - Capturing a valid save
This step may sound complicated but fear not, you are simply playing the game for a single run.

1. From the steam client, run your montaro game and enter a run. Try to collect around 5+ coins. After the run exit your game.

2. Now you will need to enter the game's save directory: C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Montaro\User Data\Default\Local Storage

3. In the directory there should be two files. A 3KB file and a 0KB file. Make a copy of the 3KB file and move it to the desktop.

Step 3 - Modding the save
This step we now go and mod the save you have captured. Be sure to have to have your sqlitebrowser downloaded and ran as administrator.

1. With sqlitebrowser opened, navigate to file > Open database at the top left corner. After the search window pop's up, change the file type to "All files (*)"

2. Go to your desktop and open the save you copied over.

3. After opining the file, you can now explore it's properties. Go over the the "Browse Data" tab and from here you can mod the save. Now becouse the game saved it's values in hex, you cannon change them dirrectly from the client. There is a super simple solution to this. click on a value you with to change and at the top right click "Export". Save this file to your desktop and name as anything you wish. I'll just use "x" for this tutorial.

4. Now after saving the text file, open it using notepad++ or any other text editor you wish to use. From here, you will see that 5+ number (If you are modding your coins) you scored earlier on the capture game. Make this number anything you wish.
Step 4 - Saving and uploading
Now that you know how to change a value, It's time to re-upload that to your database and futhermore, back into your game.

1. After saving the value you changed in notepad, you will want to go back to your sqlitebrowser and click the "Import" option at the top right. Afterwords click the "Apply" button just under that.

2. After you finish making your modifications, goto the file > Wright changes at the top left corner.

3. You can now close out of sqlitebrowser. Now to finally move the modded save back to it's save directory: C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Montaro\User Data\Default\Local Storage
- Click overwrite file when prompted.
Congratulations - You're finished

It is also possible, I've found, by exporting collect_panz and collect_crow as binary files, editing those in Notepad++, and importing them, you can modify those values as well. the important thing to make sure is that when you import the file back into the data field, the "type of data currently in cell" stays as Binary. If it changes to text, then when Montaro reads the value it will come back as NaN and it won't track any progress you've made.

Thanks! I'm not a big fan of cheating, but it was a good way of tracking exactly how much pantsu I have, and how far away I am from the achievement.

@Ed Sounds like your storage file was dismounted. Try to reload the database and re-import.

On step 4 when I tried to import, I got an error message "Error changing data: unable to open database file"
