And now that I think about it a bit, there are situations where Curse does make more sense, such as against Viper who can only dispel it with his ult. Generally, however, Word is the better choice.

Mimic: Last Word does more damage (and it's guaranteed damage), and also disables if they don't cast, meaning they can't LH (or fight back). Curse is almost useless without a silence or mana drain, because it can be dispelled, so it's not as useful at level 1.

why get last word at level 1? i would get curse then last word, i would use last word first, then curse so they cant get rid off the curse

I wouldn't put his glaives off to level 10. I would invest one level early to help with last hitting, which will be help with his low late-game viability.
