Black Screen On Startup Fix

1. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\DRAGON BALL FighterZ\_CommonRedist\vcredist\2015 (You can copy and paste this into any opened window to go there directly)

2. Open vc_redist.x64 and vc_redist.x86 and install or repair both.

3. Restart PC after that has finished.

4. Start the game up and with any luck, it will load.

*Note:
You may need to do this every time you restart the game or PC.

ah thats just silly, haha these games and these issues are so goofy. I also was using the verify integrity trick before every time i would play. that helped too.

@Eclipse: This bug used to happen when installed on your main hard drive as well. I install all my games on the save hard drive that Windows and all my apps are installed on. So while that is a solution to the problem, it's not a guarantee as this can happen on your main drive as well.

Also I've realized the Issue only happens when you install to an alternate drive than the C: drive. It has something to do with the Easy Anti-cheat not scanning before the game starts. Move the game to your main drive with the Steam application, and this issue is resolved!

@perpetual_immobility Wow, it just goes to show that anything and everything has the potential to mess a game up. Glad you figured out your issue in the end.

Thanks for the help @kirkyeehee - Turns out my bluetooth usb dongle was causing the issue and removing it from a usb port immediately fixed the game!

@perpetual_immobility I found this with a quick google search of that error code, try this and see if it helps:

1. Go to Control Panel--Programs and Features, uninstall all the Visual C++ Redistribute items.

2. Run Fix it tool to fix problems that block programs from being installed or removed.

3. Check you windows update and install latest patches.

4. Reboot your machine.

I follow the instructions but upon trying to install them I get "0x80070666 - Another version is already installed"

I've updated the guide some in hopes it will work for more people. I had to do this for a second time today and had to follow the new instructions I added in order to get the game to work again.

Here's hoping they fix this mess so it doesn't keep happening.
