There is a cap to working stats, yes.
Each skill can have up to ten skillpoints invested in it. Beyond that, "smart" or "diligent" may further increase a chosen stat by one point each, and items' effects may add further skill bonuses.
e.g. Ishmael may invest 10 skill points in "science", plus 2 skill points from "smart" and "diligent", and if he also equips the "Bass Compendium" surgery guidebook, his "science" score will further increase by 3 points. This leads to a maximum "science" skill of 15 points.
Atm I'm going with 1 red, 1 blue and everything else on green. But I guess its high time to start upping red since now that I have biggest ship I expect to face some pirates.
Do you know if theres a cap to working stats?
But on section 3 you say that we should only put 1 point in crafting, a lot on science and on sailing "your Captain need not spend points there".
I'm confused. Could you tell us objectively what working attb you generally allocate in your game and in which order?
Thanks for the guide!
I am going to try a run with a pure survivalist crew and see how it goes. Frankly, I do NOT have high hopes.
