In Zombie Mod as a survivor you must survivor against one of your teams who will randomly become infected and start infecting your other teams. Your job is to survive until times up or kill them all. As Zombies, you have to infect all survivors before times up. In some mods you get points which you can get from either infect survivors or damage/kill zombies. Some of the weapons can be in use of help depending on your situation. Whether you are running around or camping in one area with your team. So here i'm going to show you some weapons how its used.

Pistols as usual helps in many situations even if you are chased. Even when you have to reload your primary weapon, you can switch and shoot them off out of desperation if you are trying to get away. In some mods you can slow them down with a glock or five seven despite it doesnt do much damage. Its extended mag is enough to keep them at bay as you run away.

Submachine guns are also useful because they dont affect your speed. You can shoot them down as you run away. Its not really useful on camping but it can slow them down while your team start to shoot them. Gives damage nonetheless. Though, there are zombies with speed ability that can fix that problem, watch out for them.

Rifles are usually best thing when camping, problem with it however is if you fall off, you have a small chance to recover due to its weight. Which can slow you down and they can catch up to you. You will have to rely on pistol or knife if you want to change the odds. The good thing about it is it does damage and depending which gun, can push them back. Something Submachine guns and pistols cant do usually (or the very least, rarely depending by choice).

Machine gun is perfect to keep them at bay. Whether by covering fire for your team or simply put more pressure to them when they try to jump on platforms. Problem with it is much worse than rifles, it slows you down even more. But with 100 bullets, you can always give a try to go down fighting. Who knows, you might be lucky to live if your team covers you and you if you know how to jump on platforms correctly without messing up.

Shotguns have small shots, but its power is deadly. Most of the time you can knock them out and give pretty good amount of damage. This gives out alot of pressure for them as they come close to you. Problem with it however is having to reload often. They can take the opportunity to charge while you reload. Even if its over 1 shell. Shoot wisely if you want to keep them away from you.

Grenades and armor is useful in some mods (some allows it). Usually in most mods HE grenades are fire grenades, which can slow them down. Flashbang are ice grenades, which can freeze them. Something you can use to get away when making a escape. Smoke grenades are usually just smoke grenades (or light grenades, which only gives out light on dark places). Armor helps prevent getting infected in some mods but you lose armor points. When it hits 0, the next hit you will be infected. In some servers it wont work. Infected bomb (another active mod which use in some zombie mod), can infect survivors with armor. So armor is useless against infected bomb (which is also zombie's strongest weapon, which can be used limited times at some servers).

The important thing to know is, pick the gun suited for you especially depending what map or else you'll end up being a zombie. As a zombie, you cooperate with other zombies to get the survivors.

In this mod you will learn how Zombie Escape Mod works. It should be noted that nowadays the Zombie Escape mod is dead, but however its still going on in Source and Global Offensive, you can use this guide for that if you wish.

In Zombie Escape mod, the main objective as survivors is to make your way through obstacle and reach for the rescue vehicle. From there it will nuke out anyone alive and left alone in the area, destroying them all while the remaining survivors will be alive in the vehicle. As zombies theres 2 ways to win.

1. Infect all survivors.

2. Get to the rescue vehicle before them. Because thats their main objective, escaping the area. They will have no choice but to fight you out of there. If they fail to reach the escape vehicle in time they will get blown up later, anyone in the rescue vehicle (survivor or infected) will be alive.

As survivors this can be prevented by either.

1. Make sure you keep the infected AWAY from the escape vehicle, if they succeed in coming in it will make it harder to take them out.

2. Simply killing them, they will respawn back and will take some time coming back to you.

If you have grenades, you can burn them, which will slow them down.

In later Counter Strike games there will be moments where you have to defend off until the shutted area opens. Theres also sometimes traps in some maps that can kill you, which leads to you being infected. This also includes boss fights, where the boss can kill you as well which you will become infected after you die.

Here are the default weapons along with advantage and disadvantage.

Pistols are once again useful for its secondary weapon. Nothing more to explain except to remember to switch to them if you are reloading your primary weapon, especially in desperate times to escape.

Submachine guns are extremely useful in this mode. As it does not harm your speed, can easily outrun zombies. However, not all zombies can be outrun. Watch for faster zombies. Also doesnt have good knockouts but can slow them down pretty good.

Rifles are center of attention in this mod, while it slows you down it still has good power. Sniper rifles are something you usually shouldnt use since you are not camping but running away. But, it can be helpful if you made it and have to defend off. But most of the time people just use assault rifles.

Machine gun may have poor speed, but the bullets are really useful to keep them at bay. Very useful to hold out, just remember to keep running. Use bullets wisely also, or else you'll end up reloading while they charge at you.

Shotguns have VERY strong knockouts, can push them very far and can also do massive damage at close range, but horrible at far range combat and its not recommend using it at enemies from far distant. The problem with shotguns however is the ammo, since its pretty low and reloading is not as great as well. Can be used to push them back, but be careful when dealing with many. Pump shotguns has more power, which means more damage and knockouts, but the fire rate is not as fast as auto so be sure you know where you are aiming. While auto while not as strong as pump, useful to deal with multiple enemies with quick reaction. Regardless of choice, remember to reload very often and shoot wisely. A wrong timing or action can lead to being overwhelmed.

Grenades such as Fire Grenades (HE) and Ice Grenades (Flashbang) can be useful if used wisely. Light grenade (Smoke) only helps if the area is really too dark. It should be worth noting these grenades are usually active in Zombie Mods which is why they are mentioned.

Armor is as usual helpful, preventing from being infected, but when it hits 0, the next hit you will be infected. In some mods it doesnt work.

The main priority as Survival to either survive or escape. If you are infected, you must infect others in order to win as zombies. In some mods players can block their teammates. Do NOT do that, because they need to progress or find a position to camp. Owners and Admins run servers that includes zombie mods, failure to listen or misbehave can result in a kick or ban depending on your action. Cheating leads to permanent ban. Play fair and you will end up staying in the server longer. Respect the rules.

Furthermore, zombie mods are probably the most installed mods out of all due to having to install most of the contents. Such as character skins, weapon skins, textures, maps, etc.

More stuff to install than any other modes. Which in some cases can potentially cause lag depending what PC you are on, or if the server can handle it.
