As usual, i like to make guides for the Rusty Lake series. Since the game just got released, all i can think of is an achievements guide.

I hope most of these can at least be missable, if they are all story related then my guide serves no other purpose than being purely for "flavor".

I'll probably end up switching the order of the achievements around but at least for now i'll keep them under sections accordingly with their descriptions.

The achievements all seem to belong to a section of the game, being 10 of them, each one with 5 achievements and one of them always being a "symbol". I ordered the sections around putting the symbol order in consideration.

Like i said in the intro, feel free to contact me on giving me a hand on this. Even the smallest tip, yet relevant, will be credited in case they are added.

Don't rush on a rage rampage and delete your saves just yet.

Unlike Roots, Paradise allows you to RESET A SINGLE CHAPTER ONLY anytime.

Anytime in-game, press the cog icon on the top right of the screen and you'll be thrown into the options menu. Click on "The Plagues" button and you'll get a screen where you can reset any chapter.

   

Pretty straightforward, can't be missed. Triggers as soon as you figure out the first puzzle and opens the door to Rusty Lake Paradise.




 





Keep walking through the woods until you find this house, get in and click on the family photo.

   

Now you have to click on "yourself" to get the achievement.





 





After you unlock the door to Paradise and see a grandma sitting near a goat, approach the goat and try to use your Machete on it.




 





After you get out of the woods, you'll see a small building besides the lake, enter it and then click on the cauldron to zoom in.

   

Now click on the cauldron boiling liquid a bunch of times to get the achievement.





 





To progress the story you need to open this coffin (i avoid telling whose is because spoilers) and the symbol is right there, to the side of the black cube. Just click on it!





 

Right after the Second plague stars, don't go inside the paradise gate yet. there's now a frog on the pond outside. Click on it, finish its puzzle (it's quite simple if you think before moving, really) and this achievement is yours. Not missable because you need that frog to advance the story.

   



 




Story related, can't be missed. After you give the frog soup to your uncle, give him back the empty bowl, he will hurl everything into it, zoom in the bowl and you'll find the key.





 





 When you get the Flute, DON'T give it to your sister yet. Try giving it to David, outside, and you'll get this achievement.

Right after you find your sister, solve the frog eggs puzzle in a bowl near her then click on the water many times until you get the achievement.


 


 





After you finish doing the flute puzzle with your sister, click on her face a few times until you zoom in her eye. The second symbol is there.

Story related: After you find the axe, go to the middle of the woods where the man-eating plant is, you'll see a tree with a red "X" on it. Zoom in, use the axe to bring it down and a path will open and you'll find a clearing with Jakob on a table telling his blood sugar is low.



You'll need to give him: The honey from the hombcomb somewhere in the forest (there's a puzzle in order to get the honey off of it) The berries in the plant on the right and there's also another tree with X on it, but smaller, zoom in and use your axe on it to recieve a jug of sap.

When you add all these three ingredients on his table, he'll attract so many flies he'll get swarmed and become... a disgusting huge larva. That spits.

   



 




After you find the scissors, go back to the house inside the woods and give it to your sister so she can cut your uncle's hair. Because giving sharp tools to blind people is an amazing idea. Keep clicking on your uncle's hair until she eventually cuts off his ear. CLICK ON THE EAR to get the achievement. Also story related because you need the ear to solve another puzzle.





 





Remember the clearing you need to go to deliver the sweets to Jacob? Go in there again and keep clicking IN AND OUT of the BIRCH (white) tree on the left until a cocoon appears (it can appear only after you get a birch sap)! Click on the cocoon to get the achievement.

Elleander confirmed that only ORANGE flowers work. Guess Harvey is picky!

After you turn Jakob in a huge disgusting larva, get the seed he spits and plant it on the glass dome inside the house where your sister and uncle are. You'll get some orange flowers.

Now go inside the house where you usually put the black cube on, and there will be a plate by the windowsill this time. Put the orange flowers in there, BACK OUT, and come back to find Harvey in there. Click on him to get the achievment and then get the orange flowers back.

After you find the axe, go outside where grandma is, and click on the small log on the right.



Now use the axe and click on it A LOT OF TIMES (about 5 ~ 10 times) and it will eventually crack and give you the third symbol.





 

Story related, can't be missed. Go back to that clearing where you watched David become a horrid larva. He'll be a cocoon now. Zoom in, crack it open and a hybrid Fly-David will emerge, click on him for the achievement.





 




Story related, can't be missed. Just solve the puzzle on the window in the same room where your father is in, watch the cutscene and get the achievement.





 





Go to the usual place for the black cube recipient and just click the right window a few times until the ghost appears and you get the achievement.

After the events that will kill the bunny in the woods happen, back out and zoom in the bunny again, but instead, click on the HOLE. This achievement is probably a reference to Rusty Lake Hotel, where Mr. Rabbit was a magician.

After you get the Diamond and go inside a small alcove with your Father in there, there's a book by the table, click it.

    

Pass through all the pages and on the back of it, there's a faint tear on the cover rip it off for the 4th symbol.

    



 

 
Right before entering the island again, there's a cow out there. Click on the cow's head 3 times.

Follow the recipe to create a perfect Rusty Lake Burger.
Recipe: lettuce - burger - cheese - crispy bacon - ketchup - cucumber slices.

    



 





Meet a wild boar 2 times into the woods:

1st location, in the shadows. (Doesn't always appears. Come back if he's not there.):


2nd location (Seems to always be there after you find him in the 1st location):




 





Seems to trigger when you give Nicholas a piece of cheese RIGHT AFTER the removal of bandages.

Note: you can't get the second piece of cheese, so give the cheese to Nicolas before adding it to the burger. Otherwise you'll have to restart the level.

Look for the symbol while in the flashback.



Fun fact: "Fifth" sounds a little like "Filth". And you find the symbol inside a pile of poop. I wonder if it's a dev joke?



 

On the start of the level go to the gate and open the top left window





 




Story related, can't be missed. Complete the operation on the open heart, replacing the heart with a clockwork





 





Give the bottle with blood to your grandma on this chapter and she will nosebleed. Click on it and the achievement is yours.





 





Touch the nipple a few times.

   



 





There is a pile of leaves to the right of the plague doctor.



   



 

 Story related, can't be missed. Create 2 delicious ice creams.





 




Story related, can't be missed. Decorate the snowman ... and find your granny in it.





 





Break the ice in the altar whith a hammer.

   



 





Complete the ice minigame and click on the ice.





 





You can get it at the end of the level.

   



 

Story related, can't be missed. Complete a small minigame to the left of the gate (characters describe one of them, you shloud click on the right one; correct order: middle - right - left - right - middle - right - middle - left - right - left - middle - left). Than go to the right and open the box.



Take the axe and use it on the boards. The achievement should trigger by then.





 




Story related, can't be missed. Complete the locusts minigame and click on the egg a few times.

   



 




 
To get this achievement you have to meet her 6 times in a specific order.

For this achievement you have to find and click on the butterfly 4 times in a specific order.

After killing the goat and delivering eyes to your sister look into the left eye. There will be three white circles. Click on the each of them and wait for the symbol to appear.

   



 

Story related, can't be missed. Complete all minigames in the grotto and open the box on the beach. But maybe there is something else in the box.
 




 




Story related, can't be missed. Force the Moon to Bleed! ...by completing another minigame.

   





 




 
After you have completed all the minigames and arrived on the beach, you have only a few seconds to click on the flying owl.





 





Do you remember that small box with mother's bones. Clock on it 4 more times and you'll get the Egg.



Use it on the bonfire before using the ground bones.
 




 





Go to the zodiac clock in the grotto and use the combination from the image below.



Explanation:




 

Story related, can't be missed. Go to the end of the grotto and talk to your father.
 




 




Story related, can't be missed. Try to cook a scrambled egg.

   



 





After you got the black cube, inspect the statue again. Use a brush on marks.



Arrange the number of heads in relation to symbols that appeared in them.
 


And take the Owl mask.

Symbol is on the brother's arm under the sleeve. You should hit it with the bow (raise the bow 2 times) and than tear a part of the sleeve. Do it one more time to find the 10th symbol.
