I don't have the character space to give a decent quick guide here, and there are much better ones out there, but here's the very quick and dirty on how to learn the game
Start terran, play the first plot line. you will get ships and money out of it, and it's good about introducing and making you familiar with most mechanics of the game as it relates to you, the player, interacting directly
Once you finish it, or feel comfortable enough, you can start trading and buying and outfitting traders and use the trading softwares to start making passive income and start building your economic power. There are some fantastic guides on setting up your economy and the commodity logistics software (CLS) and trading software
And don't be afraid to cheat. Do what you need to to learn the game at your pace. You can always restart. Money is very important in this game. Having a giant pile as a safety net can be helpful while learning the ropes
@Hatwork You could undermine every Teladi Spaceweed producer :D of course that's not a real in-game achievment. You COULD though try get every ship with Boarding, but Boarding takes alot of time, patience and mostly, cash. Not even sure if it gives an achievment.
one has to be crazy to think games don't make you "Want" to choose something. Like gta or ..any other sandbox.
You choose out of fun options.. what the fuck is "Rare ship collector" or "greatest spaceweed seller" ... Oh you have 50 TS that you hit buy best sell best and have 100 stations?

Many ships that you get a pilot to eject have SETA. Fly to it. claim it. make sure you're some 25k from the closest station. eject the SETA from the new ship. eject from your ship and pick up the SETA. If you bind Boresight fire to LCtrl and SETA to RCtrl, you can use SETA while you repair. if you put some weight to hold down both CTRL keys, you can go afk while it repairs for you.
2. Read this guide
3. Uninstalled X TC
From the sound of it you just saved me a second job.
2.Don't add anything yet + Play the base non DLC game
3.They all matter + Some of them do overlap. An exceptional start that matters in the Oh NO way: Bankrupt Assassin, You start hunted by pirates. They show up. They mean business.
4.Okay + I avoid some of those. Fat 'medium sized' fingers, hotkeys, and keyboards don't always get along. If SETA was in a menu I wouldn't hotkey it "Time to bring her in nice and eas" 'GAME OVER"
6.One missile + Nothing like the rush of a life saving missile hitting the target.
8.Faction rep + failing missions or abandoning missions will cause rep loss
9.E cells consume crystals
10.Special Command Software + it can pick up a crate. Not too mention pick you up.
11.TM + TM's allow you to carry 3-4 fighters. TM's cost 0.5 million and come with a 200mj shield. They can dock at any station. Decent missile selection. XL cargo bay.
