Introduction
There are currently ten weapons in Gunheart along with two special weapons (multi-tool and social gear). Some weapons are available for purchase immediately while others require completing certain challenges to unlock first. All weapons can be modified using the weapon modification feature which you can learn more about in this guide.

You can purchase and equip weapons while in the Bent Horizon (starting lobby) by using the Gunstr interface (giant orange station). You can also bring up the modification interface at any time by clicking on the small gear icon in the in-game loadout menu.

Weapons can't be fired in the main area of the Bent Horizon (starting lobby) but you can test out your loadout in the Firing Range before heading out to a mission. The Firing Range is accessible via the top-right button in the Gunstr interface. While you're there why not try to get a new high score and get your name on the leaderboards...?
Sidearms
In Gunheart you always have a gun in your hands, and you have the option to mix and match your sidearms as you see fit. Double up on the same weapon to keep it simple or pair up different types to give yourself options during the battle. At any time you can use the Gunstr interface to change your loadout (and even swap out the modifications for your weapons), so you're always able to change what weapons you're bringing to the fight.

All sidearms have unlimited ammo and either auto-reload or require the use of a physical reload.

Pistol
A trusted classic, the pistol fires one shot per trigger pull. Does consistent damage at all ranges and is reasonable accurate even at long range. Has a lot of flexibility when paired with different mods, using scopes for a more tactical and higher damage approach, or going full auto for a more fire and forget style of play.

The pistol has a physical reload mechanism, requiring you to yank upwards to lock the barrel back into place. You can also perform a 'tactical reload' at any time by squeezing the palm grips to force open the barrel.

Carbine
The stock carbine is a standard machine gun, continuing to fire while the trigger is held (at least until the clip is emptied). The carbine's accuracy naturally decays with sustained fire, so for best results it's recommended to use it in a semi-auto mode. The Tagger mod is a great addition to this weapon, increasing damage to that target but also marking them for easier tracking in case they retreat behind cover.

The carbine automatically reloads when needed, and the clip can be forcefully ejected by squeezing the palm grips.

Shotgun
The shotgun is all about dealing high damage to anything that gets in your face. The stock version has a relatively limited clip size so you'll want to manage your reloads to keep this weapon ready when you need it most. Damage and accuracy fall off fairly quickly with any range, so really best to keep this for close encounters.

The shotgun also uses a physical reload mechanism, requiring you to yank upwards to lock the barrel back into place. 'Tactical reload' can be activated any time by squeezing the palm grips to force open the barrel.

Crossbow
The crossbow is a high damage projectile based weapon that excels at mid to long range combat, and also a reasonable option for the point-blank encounters. It's somewhat lower rate of fire by default than say the pistol, but also has access to some unique weapon modifications such as Guided which will allow you to control the velocity of the bolts mid-flight.

The crossbow uses an auto-reload similar to the carbine, and can be forcefully reloaded by squeezing the palm grips.

Minecaster
The minecaster fires out explosive mines that will wait to detonate until the trigger is released. This allows it to be used in more strategics situations, setting up traps in known bottlenecks to take out multiple targets at once. Adding Triple Shot and Flypaper modifications to this weapon turns it into one of the most effective weapons for quickly locking down the battlefield.

The minecaster automatically reloads mines after the current active ones have been detonated.

Death Disc
The death disc is an experimental melee style weapon that does incredibly high damage to any target it hits. The blade is controlled through player motion and the range can be extended by moving more rapidly. The death disc is first unlocked by progressing through the story campaign, and after that point it can be purchased at Gunstr.

Combo Weapons
There are four different combo weapons to use in Gunheart. Combo weapons are more powerful than normal weapons and as such have a limited ammo pool. Each combo weapon uses different amounts of ammo per shot, and you can acquire new ammo by finding the 'ammo kegs' scattered throughout the levels (or with the special 3D printers).

Desktop players: Combo weapons can be selected via the quick menu or toggled using the weapon selection keys (default keys are '0-9'). There's also a handy swap between combo/side-arms keys (default key is 'q').

VR players: To activate your combo weapon simply bring the tops of your controllers towards each other, a.k.a. gangsta' style. To switch back to your normal weapons pull the controllers apart and they'll be re-equipped.

Arc Bow
Arc Bow
The arc bow is a high-tech take on the classic bow, rapid firing arrows at targets that can be upgraded with added stun and explosive effects. Grab the bow string with your offhand + trigger to nock an arrow, take aim, and then release the trigger to fire the arrow.

This weapon excels at short to mid range combat, dealing high damage to single targets with high accuracy. It uses the least amount of ammo of all the combo weapons per arrow and can fire nearly as fast as players can nock arrows.

Chaingun
The chaingun is a rapid-fire bullet weapon that takes some time to spin up the barrels, but when at max speed is able to firing much faster than any other weapon. It has one of the highest damage potentials of the combo weapon when used in the right situations.

The chaingun is best at mid to long range combat and uses a moderate amount of ammo. It will overheat if firing is sustained too long, so be careful to manage your shots to maximize the damage output.

Sniper Rifle
The sniper rifle is purchasable after landing a certain amount of headshot kills. It excels at long range combat with a custom scope that increases zoom based on distance from the player's view. Upgrade it with the Piercing Rounds to take out multiple targets with a single bullet, assuming you can successfully line up the shot.

It uses a high amount of ammo per shot and has a fairly high recovery time between shots.

Rocket Launcher
What shooter worth it's salt wouldn't have a rocket launcher? This weapon is all about blowing stuff up, ideally at a far enough range that you don't also take hits from the splash damage. Upgrading this with the Guided mod allows for even more fun, allowing you track targets on the move to guarantee the hit.

The rocket launcher does high direct damage with a moderate amount of splash damage. Great for taking out groups of Anthromites in one go. It uses a high amount of ammo per shot.
Special Weapons
Multi-tool

At any time you can activate the multi-tool for either hand by holding the palm grips. The multi-tool is able to pick up any physical object such as explosive barrels but also including the Anthromites. Any object help in hand can be blasted out by pulling the trigger or tossed using physical motion.

When grabbing the Anthromites you can use them as a makeshift meatshield, blocking bullets temporarily, or you can kill them outright by using your other hand's multitool to rip of limbs. It's a bit gruesome but also super effective in a pinch!

Social gear

The social gear has a few fun little tools to play with outside of combat. It can be equipped by reaching above your shoulder and lightly squeezing the palm grips (note that you need to lightly press the buttons as holding them will activate the multi-tool instead).

Included in the social tool is a pixel painting tool, a giant foam hand, and a balloon maker. You can flip between the modes by lightly pressing the palm grips, and all of them are activated by holding down the trigger. You can always return to your normal weapons either by bringing up the multi-tool and releasing, or by reaching up above your shoulder and squeezing the palm grips again.
