B.A.T. - Battefield Airborne Tactical
BAT is a modpack that adds:
- Hundreds of new planes, from all ages.
- New maps, very detailed, from all around the globe.
- Other functionalities, like walking outside your plane.
- And more!

After it is installed it's divided in 4 parts that you can choose at any time:
- Dawn of Flight (Earliest plane of the modpack being from 1906)
- The Golden Age
- World at War
- The Jet Age (Latest plane of the modpack being the israeli F-16i Sufa from 2004)

How to download B.A.T.

WARNING: All mediafire links in steam get removed automatically, so I put an underscore between the words media and fire, you have to copy and paste them and then remove the underscore.

There are two ways of downloading B.A.T., trough a torrent that has all parts, or the various parts individually. I recommend downloading the complete torrent as it is faster and easier, but if you have any problem with it I'll leave the individual parts link here as well.

The BAT manual has all the links, and also a guide how to install this, it is a bit extense so I made this steam guide so that more people can find the mod itself, and install it faster. Here is the link for the BAT Manual: https://www.media_fire.com/?8c8bk9517cm05am

• 1 - Download either:
  - The complete torrent: http://www.sas1946.com/downloads/essentialsas/diverse/BAT_v1.torrent
  - 26 Individual parts (provided in the BAT manual.)

• 2 - Install the torrent file using programs like uTorrent or Free Download Manager.

• 3 - Create a folder somewhere and there you should put the .zip files that you should have after installing the torrent. Depending on the program you use, you should already have all of them in the same folder. DO NOT EXTRACT ANY OF THE .ZIPS.

• 4 - Install the setup.exe file and put it in the same folder mentioned in the step. 3. This file is what it's used to install: https://www.media_fire.com/?Aw6aczecktv1vea (remove the underscore)

After you're finished, you have the whole base B.A.T., ready to get installed to your IL-2 1946.

What do you need so that BAT can be installed

• 1 - Downgrade your IL-2 1946.
  To do this, go to your steam library, right click in the game, properties, betas and choose 4.12.2.
  

• 2 - Verifiy if your vannilla game works. Just run it.

• 3 - Know where the game folder is and make sure there aren't any other mods there.
  To see where the folder is, go to your steam library, right click on the game, properties, and browse local files.

How to install B.A.T. in your game

If you have the folder with the .zips and the setup.exe, it's time to install the modpack.

Run the setup.exe and choose your base game folder (the folder that appears after you browse the local files mentioned earlier).

After it is finished, you're ready to play!!!!!!

Congratulations! You installed BAT!

Now to run it, go to your Il-2 folder, run "IL-2 Selector.exe" and choose the mod you want, then save settings.

Warning: Please keep in mind that steam doesn't count your hours if you start Il-2 trough selector, you should choose your options, save, exit selector and then start trough steam. The mod will run the same.

Divine Fixes

Most errors will be fixed by downloading this second dll file, but there could be some others-Examples of common errors that will be solved by the DLL: Can't see cockpit, plane is pink, can't spawn

Just move the file to your game folder and overwrite if asked.

Other errors:

1 - Can not create a QMB (Quick Mission Builder) after changing from a mod to stock:
Fix: Go to your IL-2 folder, go to "quicks" and delete ".last quick". You'll have to do this everytime, although I don't see a reason to play the stock game ;).

2 - Can not create a QMB with mods:
Fix: Make sure there is not ANY blank empty option. If there is everything, choose a map to another.

3 - Where are my modern planes specific systems, like the radar?:
Fix: in the controls settings, after the BAT is installed, you will find "Misc 1" (2,3,4,5 etc) and that are your jet controls.

4 - Not loading certain things, crashing when loading:
Fix: change the RAM in the selector until it works or try running the game as admin (not recommended).

How to install all the released expansions

If your game with the modpack is working, it is highly recommend to install all the released expansions. They add planes, maps and stuff.
Installing the expansions is similar to installing the base modpack. Put all the files in a folder with the install.exe. Install them in order. Everything is very detailed and simple in the manual that I provided the link of earlier, so I see no reason to put the expansions here.

With this amount of content you can play the game for the rest of your life!
