And chievos is an event that happens when you play season mode. A lot of things can happen within that mode.
7. DO THE WAVE
The fans do the wave when you are absolutely destroying your opponent in score. The spotlight made this harder to see in the old 1.3 update, however in the 2022 Extra Seasoning update the wave goes on longer and the spotlight is shorter. The achievement occurs the first time you trigger "the wave".
10. TURBO TIMING
There's some confusion about deflections. While you are flashing during a turbo boost, you are able to deflect attacks. The trick is to turbo towards an opponent when *you* are holding the ball or are otherwise under threat. The hockey player can KO during turbo but you must hit the Fight button. This can result in a one hit KO or a double KO deflection.
12. LONG PLAY
Indeed this is 55 minutes, not hours. The description has been updated to "Play for a total of 55 minutes and 55 seconds" to avoid confusion. There's 100 achievements in the 2022 Extra Seasoning update, and you will hit this long before you get the rest.
2. THE HATTIEST OF TRICKS
The description has been updated to refer to "natural" hat tricks, i.e. the exact same on-screen player scoring 3 times in a row. In game this is what triggers the hats, however in Season Mode you must have accumulated enough fans for hats to actually get thrown. The number of hats is tied to the number of fans. The hats do slightly affect gameplay, as they can clutter up the field and pose a slight obstacle.
3. ALL THE POINTS
This is in someways harder, but there are more challenge levels that allow you to get it.
5. SUDDEN DEATH
This is now the only type of overtime, so you don't need to mess with the options.
(continued)
Looking at the *current* dev code: the Long Play achievement is 55 minutes, 55 seconds of actual, active gameplay. I hit the achievement while testing on Xbox in one test session which was less than 3 full seasons played during the day. You should not need to "grind" this out in the Season Mode update as you will definitely hit 55+ minutes trying to get the rest of the achievements (SM adds 100 new achievements!).
If the Steam version is 55 hours, that would be pretty impossible to get and would be a bug -- I don't think that's the case. Either way I hope to have to Steam version up shortly after the Xbox One version is completed.
Since I've already tried to make a hella long game beforehand (using longest quarters, most quarters and finishing on sudden death), I've deduced it only counted gameplay time and that the "demo" periods made it count towards the 55 hours. But so far I don't have any more clues with this one. Hit me up if you find a more accurate precision with that achievement.
