Quick and Dirty Basics
First, this isnt Minecraft - you dont need a dirt hut! You need power for your suit, or you die!
Your oxygen keeps you going for many, many days - nothing to worry about yet. But power!

1. Place some frames as foundation (3x3 to start with) and weld them up with iron sheets.
2. Place the solar panel and the solid generator on one edge of your platform. (Add a glass sheet to finish it and use the wrench to adjust it so it's pointing at the sun.)
3. Wire up the generator, solar panel and battery charger and charge the extra battery.

This is the basics that keep you alive (no more battery power for your suit = dead player)

Strongly suggested: Dig a hole (tools are in the miner belt) to store your welder out of sunlight (tank heats up and explodes)

4. Place the APC (area power control) with input from the solid generator and solar panel and into the direction of your spot for machinery. (The battery in the APC is the fundamental power buffer you will need for your machinery. Open it with the crowbar)
5. Place the arc furnace and the autolathe. Wire them up to the APC output.
6. Smelt needed ore in the arc furnace so you can build the Electric Printer. You find the mining tools in the mining belt in your suit.
7. Built some more small batteries in the Electric Printer (2-3 should keep you going)
8. Built the fabricator at the Electric Pinter. (start it early at sunrise, because its a slow progress and uses a lot of power)
9. Bump up your solar panels to 3-4.

Here we are.
Now you can continue with gas production to power the furnace and everything else.
Noobie's first Steel
The furnace is very awkard at first, but it gets better. For a starter: Your first steel:

1. Place the furnace in a spot with sunlight and some space below for its lower hatch.
2. At night drop 2 volatile ice and 1 oxide ice into the top hatch.
3. Drop iron ore and coal into the top hatch in a 3:1 ratio (75:25 is nice, 150:50 keeps you going for a long time) Important: Never ever scale up oxide and volatile when when you scale up the ores. Its not needed and you will blow yourself into space!
4. Wait for dawn. Once the sunlight reachs the furnace wait anothe minute and fire it up.
5. Once the panel shows you "producing xxx steel" pull the lever and your steel plops out of the bottom hatch.
Ta-daaa!
Noobie Space Suit Air Refill
Quick and Dirty guide how to refill your suits air without much knowledge!

Keep in mind: When you start you have many, many days of oxygen. Nothing to panic!

1. Place and wire up an active air vent with access to sunlight.
2. Attach a "Gas Tank Storage" to the air vent.
3. Mine blue Oxide Ice
4. Build an N2-Filter at the Bender and add it to a free helmet slot.
5. Stick your suits oxygen canister into the Gas Tank Storage.
6. Turn on the vent and step on it during sunlight.

The ice vaporates and gets sucked up by the vent, filling your canister
You need the N2-Filter, becaues the ice isnt pure o2.

If you dont have an N2-Filter you might get low oxygen warnings. Flush the helmet to get rid of the N2 and get that damn filter...!

Thx. On a sidenote I probably should update the guide for foodstuffs... Wrote it before the hunger implementation.

Dude thanks, this is awesome. I feel so lost in the game xD During my first playthrough ever, I just put together some foundations and then suffocated haha

I built the solar panel and the generator. I placed the battery charger in the slot on the generator. How do I charge the extra battery for my suit?

I finally get what's going on. Took me a really long time, but I finally undertand the "low oxygen" warning in my suit. Even with 10% Nitrogen, that gas will steadily accumulate in your helmet as you breathe the oxygen. My CO2 filter removes that gas, so bit by bit the N2 concentration rises...etc. So, I just need an N2 filter and I'll stop getting those warnings.

No, we are not all doomed - we should just get constant "low oxy"-warnings from Stationeers...must be bugged... ;)
I would still not suggest to try diving with 78% nitro bottles, hehe.

Kewl!

From your explantion, then I am apparently getting issues with my current, high pressure suit O2 tank because it contains...gasp...10 or 20% Nitrogen.

And here we all sit in an 80% nitrogen environment. We're all doomed!

Added simple steel making and how to refill the suit with air.

My starting oxy canister is at about 10 days and counting without yet hearing "pressure...low"

Sorry, still trying to work out the gas mess myself. Deans dev blogs arent that helpful =)
