Kernsto Highlands (Vanilla & NPCs)

Kernsto Highlands is a Medium sized Survival map created with immense detail in all locations. Containing a very limited amount of vehicles of any kind, this map forces players to plan ahead when thinking about travelling between locations. The Highlands are the perfect environment for dangerous and passive wildlife, including deer, farm life, wolves and bears. Bicycles and boats can rarely be found, yet no other vehicles will appear on the map - bar the rare occasion of finding a tractor.

Eventually having the items to craft a makeshift vehicle should be considered a benchmark in your experience, and building a base to protect said vehicle is recommended as vehicles will be extremely sought after in Kernsto.

This map, fit with a huge, top security penitentiary, a massive suburban city and more, brings a whole new style of survival to Unturned. Looting trips will be exclusive to very few locations as the distance between the major locations will be a detriment to your time and nutrition. Base building has never been so welcomed by any map, the vast amount of foliage and spare land highly encourages base building - either inside a major location or out in the wilderness shrouded by trees. This map also uses custom GPS and Chart images for further realism and cinematography. Such charts can help players locate airdrops and hidden locations through scribbles left by the former owner.

All NPCs have mini Safezone nodes ontop of them, blocking both PVP and building. Many NPC encounters can be found on the map and can be located with the circle beacons shown on a GPS. An NPC compound can also be found deep in the Mount Kern cave system with a bunch more quests and such to delve into!

This map contains a wide range of indepth, exciting locations, fit with zombies, navmeshes and item spawns:-

- Kernsto City, the main city and pvp hub of the map, huge city with light military presence and an underground sewer system.

- Kernsto Harbor, the main port of Kernsto full of tasty construction and light security presence. Home to the main material transport via train.

- Kerni Hunting Grounds, a large spanning plane of woods, the perfect home to wildlife such as deers, cows and pigs. But be aware, wolves have also been seen in these lands.

- Pheroford Campsite, a small campsite West of Mount Kern - the main source of camp essentials.

- Mount Kern, the largest recorded peak of Kernsto and the home to a massive cave system caked in metal ore.

- Marrowhawk Farm, a large farmland establishment to the North of Kernsto Harbor, the number one source of organics in Kernsto.

- Kernsto Penitentiary, the largest prison complex in all of Kernsto, holding only the meanest, scariest inmates in the land. Includes a nearby quarry location as day work for the inmates to pay their keep.

- Khatran Facility, a military-turned containment bunker set up to care for injured personel involved in the Partodal incident.

- *SAFEZONE* Trader's Safehaven, a group of survivors have built a small compound in the cave system of Mount Kern and will offer Vendors and Quests to travellers.

- *DEADZONE* Partodal Residential & Power, Kernsto Highland's primary power station. The nearby residential of Partodal was recently struck with a large comet, radiating the area, entry is restricted at all costs.
