Quick mission overview for completionists
By kris.aalst
Some mission paths are mutually exclusive. Some missions need to be solved in a specific way in order to be able to start a follow-up side mission later on. This is an overview of all the main missions and side missions of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided with minimal spoilers but with all the information a completionist will want to see at a glance.

Main missions
Dubai
  • M1: Black Market Buy automatically starts when starting a new game.

Prague I (daytime)
  • M2: Morning Comes Too Soon automatically starts after M1.
  • M3: Getting in top shape again & M4: Checking out TF29 automatically start after M2, but you need to complete M3 before M4 will advance.
  • M5: Claiming Jurisdiction automatically starts after M4.
  • M6: Taking Care of Business automatically starts at the end of M5.

Complete SM04: The Calibrator and SM05: Samizdat, and advance SM03: The Mystery Augs to the 'in progress' status (having contacted David Sarif) before doing M6 as you'll be taken out of Prague at the end of M6. You can also finish SM00, SM01 & SM02.

Golem City
  • M7: The Rucker Extraction automatically starts after M6.

If you completed Side Mission 04: The Calibrator by making a deal with Otar, he will contact you during M7. To be able to do Side Mission 09: All in the Family later on, you need to "deal with Gallois" by either killing him (don't do that if you want the Pacifist achievement) or warning him about Otar through conversation.

Prague II (nighttime)
  • M8: Tracking Down the Real Terrorists automatically starts after M7.
  • M9: Checking Out the Men in Charge automatically starts after M7.
  • M10: Facing the Enigma automatically starts after finishing M8 + M9.

After M10, you need to choose to either take on M11 OR M12. So a couple of achievements are mutually exclusive. Completionists will want to save the game after M10 and first take on M11 to get the God Killer achievement, then reload the game and do M12. The reasons being:
    • M12 doesn't only award an achievement at the end, but you'll also have found an item during M12 that's needed for another achievement near the end of the game.
    • There's an eBook that's only accessible during M12 so you need to pick M12 if you want the Tablet Collector achievement.

  • M11: Confronting the Bomb-maker OR M12: The Heist will start after M10, depending on which mission you choose.

Advance SM03: The Mystery Augs to the "in progress" state before starting M13. Complete all the other side missions before travelling to G.A.R.M.

G.A.R.M. Facility
  • M13: G.A.R.M. automatically starts after M11 or M12.

Prague III (curfew)
  • M14: Hunting Down the Final Clues automatically starts after M13.

London
  • M15: Securing the Convention Centre automatically starts after M14.
  • M16: Stopping Marchenko automatically starts after M15.
  • M17: Protecting the Future automatically starts after M15.
Prague I (daytime) Side Missions
SM00: Neon Nights
  • How to start: this SM can be started in various ways. It's likely you'll start it by reading the computer in apartment #22 in Adam's apartment complex. To start the SM from the very first step, you need to crack a safe in a restricted area in the 'Courtyard' northeast of Adam's apartment complex.

  • Deadline: needs to be completed before completing M14, so before leaving for London

SM01: The Golden Ticket
  • How to start: go to the 'Police Checkpoint' east of Adam's apartment complex and engage in conversation with Drahomir

  • Deadline: needs to be completed before travelling to the G.A.R.M. Facility for M13

SM02: Cult of Personality
  • How to start: by talking to Viznik in the N of the sewers. You enter the sewers through a manhole S of Adam's apartment complex

  • Deadline: needs to be completed before travelling to the G.A.R.M. Facility for M13

SM03: The Mystery Augs

This SM automatically starts after completing M3 and spans across all three Prague sections of the game. SM3 is the only SM that has no achievement attached to it.

SM04: The Calibrator
  • How to start: starts automatically after M3

  • Deadline: needs to be completed before completing M6, so before travelling to Golem City

  • Prerequisite for: completing SM04 by making a deal with Otar is one of the prerequisites to be able to start Side Mission 09: All in the Family later on. Retrieving the calibrator is a prerequisite for Side Mission 08: The Fix later on.

SM05: Samizdat
  • How to start: by talking to Peter Chang in Task Force 29 Headquarters

  • Deadline: needs to be completed before travelling to the G.A.R.M. Facility for M13, BUT it needs to be completed before completing M6, so before travelling to Golem City, if you want to be able to do Side Mission 12: K is for Každý later on.

  • Prerequisite for: Side Mission 12: K is for Každý
Prague II (nighttime) Side Missions
SM06: 01011000
  • How to start: by interacting with one of the glitched ad panels in Prague II. When you're back from M7, there's one immediately across the road near some police guards. Interacting with one of the glitched street signs triggers a Point of Interest in your objectives log, asking you to go to a pawn shop in the south part of Prague. The mission officially starts when you accept it in the pawn shop.

  • Deadline: needs to be completed before travelling to the G.A.R.M. Facility for M13

SM07: Fade to Black
  • How to start: starts after you finish M9: Taking Care of Business. When Jensen exits the NSN room, he'll bump into Delara Auzenne at Miller's terminal, who offers the SM.

  • Deadline: needs to be completed before travelling to the G.A.R.M. Facility for M13

SM08: The Fix
  • Prerequisites: retrieved the neuroplasticity calibrator during SM04 and finished either M11 or M12

  • How to start: starts automatically at the end of M11 or M12

  • Deadline: needs to be completed before travelling to the G.A.R.M. Facility for M13, although there is a way to complete it during M14 under certain circumstances.

SM09: All in the Family
  • Prerequisites: completed SM04: The Calibrator by making a deal with Otar AND, during M7: The Rucker Extraction, you dealt with Louis Gallois by killing him or by warning him about Otar.

  • How to start: automatically starts by Otar contacting you after your return from Golem City so after M7.

  • Deadline: needs to be completed before travelling to the G.A.R.M. Facility for M13

SM10: The Harvester
  • How to start: by going into the alley next to Svobody Beer where you see police tape marking a crimescene, and talking to Daria Myska there. It's not really missable because if you did not talk to Daria before finishing M11: Confronting the Bomb-Maker or M12: The Heist, Aria Argento will contact you and point you to the crime scene.

  • Deadline: needs to be completed before travelling to the G.A.R.M. Facility for M13

  • Prerequisite for: successfully completing SM10 (i.e. no arrests) is a prerequisite to be able to get SM11 on your third visit to Prague later on.
Prague III (curfew) Side Missions
SM11: The Last Harvest
  • Prerequisites: completed SM10 successfully (no arrests)

  • How to start: walk near Praha Dovoz's entrance

  • Deadline: needs to be completed before completing M14, so before leaving for London.

SM12: K is for Každý
  • Prerequisites: completed SM5: Samizdat during your first visit to Prague

  • How to start: automatically after M13 so after you return from G.A.R.M.

  • Deadline: needs to be completed before completing M14, so before leaving for London.

NO, NEITHER having the police attack and kill the fake cop OR ANY civilians "panic" cause the achievement to void.

Civilians panicked many times in my play through and it DID NOT void the "foxiest of the hounds".
the "no kill" achiev. and the "foxiest" i got in the same play through, it was easy.
If you are in a HOSTILE AREA (red) and then you panic an NPC and then they go ALERT A GUARD then the guard in turn flips the alarm, it WILL void the aciev.
KNOCK OUT the freakin npc BEFORE they alert the GUARD that has the authority to FLIP the alarm!

A Little common sense goes a long way.

As I mention in the achievements guide it's not clear whether or not that counts towards an alarm and voids Foxiest of the Hounds. But by elimination, meaning you're pretty sure you did everything right and still didn't get the achievement, a lot of players think it does. So it's best to avoid that whole scene if you want the achievement.

That's very helpful, thanks!

One more question: Early on I talked the cops into attacking and killing the fake permit officer at the checkpoint and it caused the surrounding civilians to panic. Does that count against the Foxiest of the Hounds achievement?

There are achievements linked to the missions. I refer to my achievements guide for full details: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1175165891

Is there an achievement? I did all of these and didn't get one.

For example, upon the end of the Bombmaker's confrontaion, regardless of position, The message about "emptied bank" will play, and vice versa

Yeah, it was fixed and is pretty unavoidable now. Before, colliding with certain areas automaticly gave the other mission the failure status, so players used out of boundaries paths. But now there is a script, so if you somehow didn't step in the fail trigger area, the mission will be force failed after completing one.

There used to be a way to complete both M11 and M12, but I don't think it works anymore... It involved entering Allison Stanek's top floor chamber by a back way...
