People have deveolped "cheap" (in my opinion,) tactics, just to win. They've proritsed wining over playing to some degree. There's the basic spammer, there's the camper who sits there in wait for you to run towards him, there's the passive who runs. It's annoying, I liked the days were people would just fight, no bs. Though you should really take it with a grain of salt. This is a competitive game, it's not their fault you decided not to gain skill in certain techniques (even if its boring ones). This guides about the types of techniques and how to combat it. It is undoubtedly your fault for getting mad at someone for playing the game how they want to play it. Spam and crap is beatable but only if you realise that you lack skills in certain departments. This guide will try to teach you how to overcome annoying tactics. Or just tactics. They're just tactics to be honest, its just seems so broken when its really not that broken. Bayonetta was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ broken in smash.

A spammer uses the same attacks, usually heavies but there are cases of light attack spammers. They can be identified if they use the same attack again and again. Spamming has evolved and has entered gold in recent times. From using one heavy it may turn into a two hit combo they keep doing again and again. The EXACT same combo they do. HEARING THE SAME ATTACK OVER AND OVER. There's no point calling them a noob, because you most probably lost to them. Making you a bigger noob. Acceptance of your flaws is the first key to BEATING THE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ LIGHTS OUT OF THEESE LIUTTLE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ PIECES OF SH-


A passive runs away from you, forcing you to chase them. They run away from you throwing weapons at you, slowly damaging you, slowly killing you and slowly winning. This is really annoying as it uses a lot of time, and in a brawl you just want to fight. People do this if the games too hard or if you pulled some mad clutch and beat the living crap out of them. It sucks when people do this. This usually means they're scared of you (or don't know any other way to play). This usually messes with your head mentally, causing stress and rage, thus turning your brain to that of a caveman/woman/copter, making it easy to slowly kill you.


A camper is a camper. He camps. He waits in one spot waiting for you to run towards him and he then attacks. Its simple and utterly annoying. He just sits there. . . . . Staring at you. My eyes are up here! This usually messes you up because theirs less variables for the other guy to take in account for. Making you much more predictable, because after all, you are going to run at him and attack him when you get close right?


A theif is a guy who takes all the weapons and throws it of the map, just so you can't get a weapon.
This isn't really hated by others, i guess its just because everyone does it, that no one really minds anymore. I dislike it and personally don't use it. This tactic invokes fear into our minds and makes us feel powerless, more scared and less prone to attack, making us much easier prey.

These are player made terms so definitions may vary from person to person. just gotta remember these are bad (in my opinion :|). Honestly if you do this, its fine, just dont be a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ verbally afterwards. The thing is, if you are a person who does this, good job. I have no idea how you can cope with doing that. It's harder than it looks haha. I personally find it boring so I try not to do it.

Two types of methods. One is just giving in and using a "cheap" tactic to combat their cheap tactic(s). I will be talking about the second type. The one where you try to fight them without resorting to "cheap" tactics as much as possible.


For spammers its a bit simpler, understand what theyre spamming, understand when, look for the movements in their character that warn you of their attack, dodge it and counter. You just need to remember what attacks they spam, if they switch up their spam, just remember, understand their attack, evade their attack when you see it coming and unleash your rage upon them. By nature they do the same thing over and over, they can be predictable, use that to your advantage. Be warned, advanced spammers are still spammers, but they switch there attacks up now and then. they can also dodge ;-;. It's important to stay calm. Spammers ♥♥♥♥ you over both in game and mentally. They eat away at your resolve, they make you mad and your attacks simpler. The best way to beat a spammer is how to beat every other person. Dodge their attacks and counter. The reason a spammer can spam is because you're not smart enough to dodge that one attack hes using. Watch replays and think, how do I dodge this ♥♥♥♥ face? Fighting spammers can be quite useful because it teaches you that you suck against a specific attack or combo. Thank them for helping you realise what you need to learn to counter.

There is another option. Much simpler. Depends on the attacks they use. Run right at them. Yup. Just run right at them and past them. You'll need to use your brain a bit, some attacks you can't run past. They expect you to attack but SIKE! They just attack ghosts and leave their butt cheeks vulnerable for a pounding. Be careful with your movement though. Make sure you stop running after you pass them so you can hit them before they can turn around and counter.


For campers, just duke them, or throw something if u can and immediately rush after them. I can't remember how i beat them, but I think what you gotta do is force them to stop camping, either by constantly rushing them and attacking, keep the knowledge about spammers with you if they spam when you get near. Campers are also somewhat predictable. They don't move, they're right there. Line up a clever attack and don't let him ever take a break, he cant camp if he/she is being thrown around the map! They will probably try to attack when you get close, back step and wreck em'. It's important to apply constant pressure and make sure they can't take a break. Dodge, weave, and chase.


These guys are pretty simple. You got a few options. The issue with thievery is it makes you feel weak and powerless. You loose hope and give up a little inside. Theres a simple way to stop this . . . You don't really need a weapon do you? You always have your fists. They can be veeeeery VERY dangerous. They don't have range, or much damage, but they're really fast. The low damage comes in handy, they don't fly too far, meaning you can just string attacks on them again and again and again and again. Giving you enough time to pick up a weapon. Or you can just crush them without them. This does require you to learn how to use fists though. I use fists only for the most part. I dropped my elo for a while but i managed to get to 1700 (in my glory days ;-;) and beat a 1900 once. (I can't do that anymore, i took a 6 month break and my skills dropped to 1400 ;-;).


To beat a passive, you gotta chase them and stay on the same height as them, the maps not infinite so eventually they will have to turn around. Once they do let lose and use a combo they cant escape from. You must also remember to give it your all. Just because they're being defensive, doesn't mean you should relax. They will always have to turn around. They will always have to change directions. Just play it smart and appear right in front of that scared dudes face. Let loose, they're playing passive because they were scared of you in the first place weren't they? Also make sure they can't escape. Limit where they go by hitting them in certain directions. Use the map layout to your advantage. Also if you are winning, just be a ♥♥♥♥ and taunt them and play passive yourself. Unless you really don't want to.

Honestly some people who use these cheap tactics are lacking some skill, SOME of them. I remember some hardcore spammers that I managed to kill fairly easily, this was because they were so used to just hitting people and not getting hit back that when they DID get hit back, they couldn't escape my goku like unarmed combos. This was since they had no clue how to dodge XD. Some of these people generally don't have skill. You can use that to your advantage. Try to do combos they cant escape from. They can't spam if they have no time to recover! Honestly though, these are pretty low level people. If you loose to them, your probably low level too. Don't take this personally. We all have to start from somewhere, and 300 hours isn't exactly even mid tier. I don't think I'm mid teir (well not anymore, that's for sure!)


These are fallen comrades. They have skill, they know how to fight. They're just sick of losing and spending sooo much time doing something to them, is ineficient (I probably butchered the spelling). The benefit of this, is, if you know how to defeat a regular spammer, it gives you an edge. The bad side is this, they know how to move, dodge and predict you. Its like a regular fight, but with annoying ♥♥♥♥ thrown in. These people have skill, understand that. It's just hard to realise it. If they win, see if you can get them to tell you how many hours they have. It isn't the exploit that won. You can still put in skill into these cheap tactics. Never EVER forget that. You didn't lose to a noob this time, just a frustrated future version of yourself. Think of it like that. To beat them, you need skill in beating regular dudes and spammers. You need to combine those two skills. Dodge the spam, and attempt to predict what hell they'll do as a dodge, then attack without leaving yourself too vulnerable.

If you use cheap tactics, honestly, it should be ok. If you think rationally, anyone can do these tactics. It still requires skill. It's fair. Just know it makes people angry. Try not to be a ♥♥♥♥ about it. You will get quite a bit of hate, but you do you. You may hit a roadblock in the future though. You'll need to adapt. These cheap tactics MAY get useless in your future. But from what I've seen, it still takes skill. They still have to read your movements and dodges. It's ok to use these tactics if all you wan't to do is win.
Don't try not to do them because of the following dumb reasons if just winning matters to you:

You don't like being called names. This is a bit stupid but our human brains are just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ retarded. We care about social ♥♥♥♥ way too much.

We want to be "the good guys". I'm being nice by not spamming right? Most people will get mad regardless. although it does actually reduce the salt thrown at you. (it does increase the salt your opponent throws on themselves).

Maybe deep down, we want an exuse, a scapegoat, to hide how weak we are. "Im not doing everything I can, if I used these cheap tactics, i'd have won". Just don't. you lost, thats that.

You want to use what you think is your "raw" strength. Just a pure fight. No ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. This is subjective but this is usually for self gratification. Which is fine. But its not really raw strength is it? you are kinda giving the enemy a handicap and limiting your full potential.

For me, I just wanna fight and kinda make a statement saying "♥♥♥♥ YOU I DON'T NEED THAT ♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥ TO WIN" and because I find it fun. Im a bit of a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ though. I enjoy seeing the enemy run away from a guy with no weapons. Using every trick they can muster to try and win. I mean sometimes they do but when i win i feel pretty dank.

But most importantly, I find it fun and I care more about improving my combat skills rather than winning. My goal is to have fun and improve my skills by playing my way. Even if it causes me to progress slower than others.

What do you want? What will make you happy? If all you want to do is win at any cost (except hacking), ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ go for it man. Just try not to be toxic in the chat. It is not your fault that you just want to win.

If you are pissed because people who do what I said above exist, that is your own personal issue. Do you wan't to win or to have fun? Do you want to just win or do you want to hone your skills? Remember what matters most, having ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fun. Don't blame others for your shortcomings. The goal for you should be to have fun and improve.

If you feel salty, try admitting to your opponent that they played well. Because they did, otherwise they wouldn't have beaten your ass. If you want to be passive aggresive, do it in a friendly way. Example: "Ouch, you spammed my ass to oblivion. It is pretty annoying but thanks for teaching me im weak against light dair on bows. Still. . . good job at dodging my attacks"

Its kinda interesting seeing that they are just people too who are just trying to have fun. Not every spammer is a douche. Some just like playing that way. It feels refreshing and kinda warm and fuzzy just seeing people get happy from a compliment or two It feels good and makes me happy, which makes sure that i play my next round well.I play better when I'm happy.
