ICOV - The Full Guide... Eventually. (OUTDATED)
By Soggy
Ever since my cousin introduced me to In Celebration of Violence, I have been playing it non stop. This is probably shaping up to be my most favorite game of 2017, and I don't plan on stopping anytime soon. As great as this game is, there isn't much awareness of it. Therefore, I decided to make a full guide for this game! Unfortunately, most of it will be educated guesses until I can confirm the information somehow. This will also be my first guide that I've created, so feel free to give me feedback. So obviously this will contain spoilers, so hit ctrl-f if you want to skip to the things you're looking for.

List of things that will be added to the guide:
-List of weapons
-List of Characters (and the short version of how to unlock them)
-List of Spells
-Enchantments
-List of Mementos
-List of Equipment
-List of Enemies
-List of Bosses
-Missing Pages/ Lore
-Common Environmental Interactables
-Shrines and Gods
-Sanctuary Secrets
-Other things that I can't remember probably

Things that might be added:
-Steam Exclusive Achievements
-Digging drop tables?
-Chest Drop tables?

Tips and Tricks
Just some tricks for dealing with enemies and other stuff. Feel free to comment some of your own.

  • You can hop during an attack's animation. Use this to chase after enemies that try to dodge away from your attack.
  • Plant and tree elementals can't get stunned despite getting parried. It is more efficient to hop over their attack and counter with your own during their endlag.
  • Sometimes attacks will still damage you despite a successful parry. Avoid this by backing away and parry the tip of the attack, or parry it at the angle it is coming from.
  • Crystal and Steel shields can't fully block damage. Slab of Rock and Tower shield can fully block physical damage.
  • Praying at Sow enough will cause the Daughter of Sow boss fight to be pretty easy: her summoned plant elementals will attack her for you.
  • All elementals can be killed except for Death Elementals. You'll know when you see them. The best way to handle the other elementals are by using large, sweeping weapons.
  • Always do blood rituals (except when you are super low on perception). They look much scarier than they actually are.
  • Adventurers and Knights are much tougher than other enemies. Be quick or be dead.
  • Civilians count towards kills and achievements. Whether it is morally acceptable to kill innocent people in the name of completion is up to you.
  • Rats can attack you.
  • Raw food does random poison damage when eaten.
  • The Plague Tick memento is amazing for sniffing out Mimics. Touching them will poison them. Alternatively, they still grow if they touch exp crystals, so if you see a larger chest than normal, kill it.
  • Avatars of Shame require you to look away from them. You can't even look sideways at them, they're that sensitive.
  • Certain melee attacks can not be parried. The ethereal weapons of ghosts will pass through your own, and the Obsidians Avatar's greatsword is too heavy to parry.
  • Attacks from hallucinations can be parried, which can be annoying at times.
  • Dying with the Mirror Shield equipped will cause you to be the Monster on your next run. Exiting the game will get rid of this effect.
  • Level 2 and 3 Fire Enchantment can light fires and cook food.
  • Don't forget that in a worst case scenario, you can set yourself on fire to cook food and burn stuff.
  • Zombies are extremely quick, but can be slowed down to manageable speeds in water. Use it to your advantage, especially in the Swamp.
  • Wood Doors can be burned.
  • Memento entries require 15 pickups to be completed.
  • Weapons entries require 101 non critter kills with the associated weapon to be completed. No that isn't a typo. Sanctuary NPCs do not count either.
  • Equipment entries require 10 pickups to be completed. Equipment that you spawn with don't count.
  • Enemies can pick up armor and health. Blood Slimes will head towards and consume hearts if they have no other target.
  • The brighter puddles of water in the Swamp don't poison you. The dark ones do.
  • Enemy entries require 100 kills to complete.
  • Spell entries require 50 casts to complete.
  • Digging costs hunger. Max hunger will cause your max health to slowly decrease.
  • "There is kind of a hidden score system that increases when you kill bosses and decreases when you die (I say hidden but it's tracked by gravestones). When that score is below 7 and you die, one of the destroyed shrines in the sanctuary will return." -Julian Edison
  • Treasure is almost never hidden exactly on the mark on a map. You will most likely need to dig around at least 2 tiles around the spot marked. If you don't find anything, you're probably looking at the wrong spot.
  • Pickaxes and hammers deal more power damage to stone and metal objects. Axes and Greatswords deal more damage to wooden objects.
Characters 1-8 (And How to Unlock Them)
This section will include all the characters base stats, starting equipment, and how to unlock them. I am currently missing one character, Tyrant. I can't include Hunger stats as there is no definite numbers for it. The format will be as follows:

Name of Character (Playstyle Focus) [Surge count]
|DEX (dexterity)| AGG (aggression)| STR (strength)| SPD (speed)| MOB (mobility)|
|PER (perception)| HP (hit points/ health)| STA (stamina)| FOR (fortitude)| KNO (knowledge)|
Weapons and Equipment:
Spells:
Mementos:
(Short description of character and playstyle)
~[How to Unlock as well as Upgrades associated with character]

______________________________________________________

Peasant (Flexible) [4]
|DEX (100%)| AGG (100%)| STR (80%)| SPD (110%)| MOB (90%)|
|PER (100%)| HP (90)| STA (100) | FOR (120%)| KNO (80%)|
Weapons and Equipment: Pitchfork and Wooden Sword. Torch in the Equipment slot. Upon completing the Vengeance for the Meek Achievement, the Wooden Sword will be replaced with a Sickle.
Spells: None
Mementos: None
The Peasant is a great starting character, and continues to be effective throughout all playthroughs due to its fairly balanced stats, although magic based runs may suffer a bit. The torch at the start basically guarantees that hunger will never be an issue, as you will be able to cook any raw meats you come across. It's also useful for unlocking the blue doors in dungeons when you need to light braziers.
~This character is unlocked from the beginning. However, the achievement "Vengeance For The Meek" will replace the Wooden Sword with the Sickle. The achievement is completed by killing Shield with the Peasant.

Soldier (Light Tank) [4]
|DEX (100%)| AGG (120%)| STR (100%)| SPD (100%)| MOB (80%)|
|PER (70%)| HP (90)| STA (90)| FOR (100%)| KNO (60%)|
Weapons and Equipment: Spear and Steel Shield Possible broadsword unlock
Spells: None
Mementos: None
The Soldier is a light tank with fairly good reach. Their Steel Shield can be used to block nearly any attack, but unlike a Tower Shield or the Slab of Stone Shield, they will still take damage, albeit reduced. Their Spear has fairly decent reach as well as good damage, however, it suffers at close combat due to it only having a damage box on the tip, making spacing key. Should an attacker come too close, blocking their attack with the shield will bounce them back or stun them at the cost of a bit of health.
~The Soldier is unlocked by completing the Defensive achievement. Block a large amount of attacks in a short amount of time. Unlock the Broadsword by killing Brearg for the Kingslayer achievement.

Priest (Prayer and Magic) [4]
|DEX (80%)| AGG (80%)| STR (60%)| SPD (100%)| MOB (70%)|
|PER (140%)| HP (70)| STA (80)| FOR (90%)| KNO (150%)|
Weapons and Equipment: Staff
Spells: Magic Bullet
Mementos: None
The Priest focuses on prayingat shrines and casting spells. With 60% Strength, it's unlikely you will be breaking anything soon. The main method of damage with this character is from casting spells, so crack open those tomes.
~The Priest is unlocked with the Pious achievement: Pray multiple times to a single god in one run. I am not sure exactly how many sacrifices are required, but I believe lighting all the candles around a shrine guarantees this achievement.

Hermit (Mobile and Ranged) [4]
|DEX (120%)| AGG (80%)| STR (70%)| SPD (120%)| MOB (120%)|
|PER (130%)| HP (80)| STA (110)| FOR (80%)| KNO (70%)|
Weapons and Equipment: Hatchet, Longbow, and 20 arrows (wood)
Spells: None
Mementos: None
The Hermit is one of the few characters to start with any kind of bow. The Hermit relies on its mobility and speed to kite enemies and fire arrows. They are not very tanky, as they take more damage from their decreased Fortitude. It has fairly decent Perception, making shrines worthwhile, but has low Knowledge, making for expensive spell casting. They don't have good Strength, but since they start out with a Hatchet which is an axe-type weapon, you can start chopping trees with lower Strength than usual.
~Death by Flaming Arrow: Kill a non-critter enemy with a flaming arrow. Bandits usually congregate around campfires, so you can just sit on the other side and spam arrows through the fire at them.

Coward (Support) [3]
|DEX (100%)| AGG (80%)| STR (70%)| SPD (120%)| MOB (100%)|
|PER (100%)| HP (60)| STA (70)| FOR (100%)| KNO (120%)|
Weapons and Equipment: Rapier and a Bodyguard
Spells: None
Mementos: None
It's strange to think that it's possible to play a Support type character in a single player rogue-like, but with the Coward, you're rarely on the front lines. They spawn in with a "Bodyguard", who has similar stats and survivability as the Bandit Lord and will often defeat the Bandit Lord in one on one combat (so better?). However, the Coward themselves are not built for combat. Low Aggression, Health, and Stamina means you deal less damage and tire more quickly. They have decent speed for getting themselves out of trouble, which can be used to redirect attention back to your guard. They have decent Knowledge, which allows for spell based runs. The main strategy for this character is to aggro an enemy and take turns poking them with your Guard. Spells are more viable with this character than others, as the Guard will distract your enemies, preventing them from interrupting the casting process. Surges, blood rituals, and other forms of healing will also heal and buff your Bodyguard if they are close enough to the source. Be careful with offensive spells however, as they will also damage your allies.
~The Coward is unlocked from completing the "Should Have Been There" achievement. To complete it, an ally of yours must bleed to death. Any non-elemental or critter ally that has health can bleed, including zombies. You can tell when an ally is bleeding out when they have dark red numbers counting up above them, and they leave behind blood puddles.

Criminal (Theft) [3]
|DEX (100%)| AGG (110%)| STR (100%)| SPD (110%)| MOB (90%)|
|PER (80%)| HP (90)| STA (100)| FOR (80%)| KNO (100%)|
Weapons and Equipment: Cudgel and Dagger
Spells: Pickpocket
Mementos: None
This one of the "gimmick" characters. They are usually fairly balanced, and this one plays around the idea of Pickpocket. You can use it to get a little extra experience, but other than that, play how you want.
~Bloodied Bandit: Kill 5 civilians. Unlocks the Criminal.

Misanthrope (Assassination) [2]
|DEX (120%)| AGG (110%)| STR (70%)| SPD (130%)| MOB (150%)|
|PER (100%)| HP (90)| STA (90) | FOR (65%)| KNO (120%)|
Weapons and Equipment: Shiv
Spells: Stealth
Mementos: None
This is the stealth assassin character. You cloak, assassinate an enemy, collect their exp, and repeat. The Shiv seems like a terrible weapon at first, but when you consider that the primary attack has 100% crit chance, it can deal some crazy damage. Additionally, since the Stealth spell renders you invisible and silent and won't dispel until you take damage, attack, or touch an enemy, stealth kills are extremely easy with this character.
~Backstabber: Kill a enemy(ies?) (knight?) with a backstab. Unlocks the Misanthrope.

Blacksmith (Strength, Slightly Tanky) [3]
|DEX (80%)| AGG (100%)| STR (120%)| SPD (90%)| MOB (70%)|
|PER (80%)| HP (110)| STA (110) | FOR (120%)| KNO (60%)|
Weapons and Equipment: Hammer and Embered Cutlass
Spells: None
Mementos: None
This character is built for breaking things. They're very slow and slightly tanky, and are terrible at magic. Otherwise, not very notable.
~Smithy: Break 5 weapons in one run. Unlocks the blacksmith. You can unlock an Embered Cutlass for the blacksmith by completing the weaponsmith achievement. Either craft a lot of weapons, or collect 99 ingots.
Characters 9-15 (+1?)
Merchant (Balanced, Trade and Craft) [3]
|DEX (100%)| AGG (90%)| STR (80%)| SPD (110%)| MOB (100%)|
|PER (110%)| HP (80)| STA (100) | FOR (100%)| KNO (100%)|
Weapons and Equipment: Short Sword, 40 exp, and 20 of each material. And crossbow?
Spells: None
Mementos: None
The Merchant has balanced stats, and the idea of this character is to make use of the shops in Sanctuary and prep for a run, but after that, play as usual.
~Collect 99 of every resource to unlock the Hoarder achievement, which unlocks the Merchant. I believe the Arms Dealer achievement gives the Merchant a crossbow at spawn.

Historian (Balanced, Experience Hoarding)
|DEX (100%)| AGG (100%)| STR (80%)| SPD (100%)| MOB (100%)|
|PER (90%)| HP (120)| STA (100) | FOR (100%)| KNO (110%)|
Weapons and Equipment: Straight Sword
Spells: Summon Diary
Mementos: Red Wine?
The Historian is a character built for experience hoarding, as you can summon a diary at any time. They have a little more survivability than other characters due to their stats. I believe the Red Wine? memento causes your hunger to deplete a little more quickly, but restores some hunger when you spill an enemies' blood.
~Learning 5 tomes in one run unlocks Learned, which unlocks the Historian.

Cultist (Blood Rituals and Magic)
|DEX (80%)| AGG (90%)| STR (70%)| SPD (100%)| MOB (70%)|
|PER (60%)| HP (140)| STA (70) | FOR (60%)| KNO (125%)|
Weapons and Equipment: Saw
Spells: Drain Life
Mementos: Leech
The Cultist is the same as the ones you see surrounding Blood Rituals. As expected, this character starts with the Leech, so that they can complete Rituals faster (Leech causes more blood to spill). They have pretty weak stats in everything except HP (because your blood works for rituals as well), which they have the most of any character, and Knowledge, so spells are viable if you can't do rituals.
~Complete 3 blood rituals in one run to unlock The Bloody Sacrifice, which unlocks the Cultist/

Veteran (Breaker, Early Tank)
|DEX (90%)| AGG (120%)| STR (120%)| SPD (100%)| MOB (80%)|
|PER (60%)| HP (70)| STA (80) | FOR (70%)| KNO (50%)|
Weapons and Equipment: Falchion and lance?
Spells: None
Mementos: None
The Veteran starts with a fair amount of armor, but other than that, is just an offensive character. They are slow but can hit fairly hard.
~Collect a lot of armor to unlock Battle Ready, to unlock the Veteran. I believe Weapon Mastery gives the Veteran a lance at spawn.

Explorer (Treasure and Mementos)
|DEX (100%)| AGG (80%)| STR (80%)| SPD (110%)| MOB (100%)|
|PER (150%)| HP (90)| STA (110) | FOR (100%)| KNO (100%)|
Weapons and Equipment: Cutlass
Spells: None
Mementos: Map Scroll
The Explorer focuses on the treasure mechanic. Map Scroll at start gives you a treasure map every time you spawn into a new level. They also have high Perception to detect traps and secrets easier.
~Digging up four treasure in one run unlocks Treasure Hunter and the Explorer.

Chemist (Potions)
|DEX (90%)| AGG (80%)| STR (100%)| SPD (100%)| MOB (60%)|
|PER (60%)| HP (100)| STA (90) | FOR (120%)| KNO (130%)|
Weapons and Equipment: Cleaver
Spells: Dust
Mementos: Empty Vial x3
The Chemist is based on potions, and has 3 potions discovered when spawned. Otherwise, is fairly weak, but has good Knowledge.
~Discovering all ten potions in one run unlocks Experimental Liquids and the Chemist.

Monster (Murderer) [0 - 1]
|DEX (130%)| AGG (150%)| STR (140%)| SPD (120%)| MOB (100%)|
|PER (70%)| HP (70)| STA (140) | FOR (100%)| KNO (80%)|
Weapons and Equipment: Knife
Spells: Berserk
Mementos: None
The Monster is a very aggressive character built around destroying your enemies with insane damage. It is, at it's heart, a murderer. Equipped with a short-range knife, you must calmly and collectively plan your attacks and strike when your victim is most vulnerable. Having the Berserk spell allows you to flip the coin and unleash hell on your enemies by buffing all of your offensive stats.
~This is the only character you can play as after dying with a Mirror Shield equipped. The "All I See is Red" achievement requires killing a god while enraged, and gives the Monster one surge.
Enchantments
Bestiary (Common Enemies Part 1)
Enemy Name
In-game Description
~ Additional Notes (from me)

Bandits
Standard thugs. They will usually congregate around campfires, a dangerous risk.
~ Standard "human" enemy. They come in melee and archer versions. The archer ones will attempt to dodge backwards, but they are not environmentally aware, so you can pin them against the wall.

The Lost and Hungry
Brought together by their lack of direction, these dregs wander aimlessly through the desert. They are weak and their morale is easily broken.
~ Basically just the desert version of Bandits. They're considered a boss, but are really just a ton of regular enemies.

Spelunkers
Treasure Hunters who scour the depths of this world for wealth and adventure. They usually have a chest nearby for me to plunder.
~ These enemies are a little more tougher and have better defensive AI than the bandits, but are otherwise the same.

Barbarians
[Still working on completing the entry]
~ They appear in the winter levels. They enrage every time they get hit, which increases their size and damage until they successfully land a hit. They also seem to have a little more health.

Soldiers[b/]
Defenders of the Kingdom, these soldiers follow their king, the god known as Shield. They are significantly tougher than the usual bandits I meet.
~ As it says, they are significantly tougher in every way. Some of the melee fighters carry shields, and all of their archers wield crossbows instead of bows.

Exiled Soldiers
[Still working on completing the entry]
~ Same as the regular Soldiers behavior wise.

Blood Mage
Cultists who worship the goddess of life. If I am quick, I can sacrifice them upon their own circle of blood.
~ They always spawn near a ritual circle. They often use a simple spell which usually launches 3 blood orbs that slowly home in on you. Number may vary.

Mage
Foremost practitioners of magic and likely worshippers of Obelisk. They wield a variety of magic but are useless in melee combat.
~ They usually spawn near a magic tome, although sometimes the book itself won't be there. They have low health and are weak in combat, but can cast spells infinitely. They have a magic missile spell, a snow crystal spell, and a fireball spell. All of their attacks home in on you and are fairly quick. Some mages can cast multiple projectiles of the same type at the same time.

Adventurer
[Still working on completing the entry]
~ These are the toughest melee enemy in my opinion (besides bosses). They are very quick and adept at evading and punishing your missed attacks. Be careful when dealing with these.

Civilians
Harmless civilians will flee immediately. I must take care that they do not alert anybody else. Killing them will anger Shield and his subordinates.
~ They can not attack in any way. If they become alerted and move into any humanoid enemy's detection range (including bandits), those enemies will become alerted to your location. As the description mentions, killing civilians will lower your favor with Shield.

Leper
[Still working on completing the entry]
~ Sickly humans living in the sewer. They deal poison damage in addition to regular damage.

Bat
Rats with wings. Only found underground or at night. They move erratically and attack in large numbers.
~ They are extremely annoying, as when they detect you, they orbit just out of range of most short and mid ranged weapons, before they decide to ram you. They also tend to spawn in groups of at least 4.

Sheep
Sheep will scatter when I approach. They can be a good source of food provided I have a fire to cook the meat.
~ They are one of two enemies that drop meat. They don't drop exp, and do not attack.

Boar
A persistent beast, but easy to trick into bashing its own head against a wall as long as I take care not to get cornered.
~ The other enemy that drops meat. Getting them to ram into a wall causes them to take bleed damage.

Hawk
Hawks will hide in trees until just before their attack. A simple dodge can send them careening into a wall. I have noticed they will not attack if I get too close.
~ They have extremely low health, so when they fly into a wall, they will always die. As it says, they spawn behind trees and will always attempt to surprise attack you. They will also always try to back away from you before attacking, so in most cases you can't hit them with melee attacks.

Bee
An annoying insect. Bees will protect their hive to the death. They are particularly weak to fire and large sweeping attacks.
~ These always spawn near and from a hive, and you will always hear them before you see them. They have no hp, so they die in one hit from anything.

Mosquito
Mosquitos tend to appear in large numbers but are slow and frail.
~ They have low hp, so they pretty much always die in one hit.

Spider
Not venomous, but can be dangerous in large numbers due to their speed and aggression. I should destroy their nests.
~ They skitter in random directions until they have a target, upon which they will skitter into range of its target before lunging. Fairly weak and will die in one hit from most weapons.

Brown Spider
This venomous spider is considerably more dangerous than the smaller black ones.
~ These have more health and deal poison damage, but are otherwise the same.

Rock Crab
[Still working on completing the entry]
~ They disguise themselves as rocks, but you can see through their disguise because real rocks don't have shadows, but they do. Will sometimes pause after attacking you, even if you are looking at it. They usually die in one hit from most weapons, and drop a good amount of exp. If you can break rocks, you can kill them when they are "hidden".

Mimic
[Still working on completing the entry]
~ They disguise themselves as wooden chests and attack when you try to open them. They are very quick and can stun lock you if you have low stamina. They grow still when they absorb exp, so if you see a bigger chest, then it is a Mimic. They will also attack if they are hurt in any way.

Avatars of Pride and Shame
[Still working on completing the entry]
~ The Avatars of Pride require you to look at them, while the Avatars of Shame require you to look away. The Avatars of Pride require you to look directly at them, no sideways glances. The Avatars of Shame can't stand you even standing sideways to them, you have to be facing away. You can kill them when they are in their stone state, but no exp will drop. A good strategy for dealing with Shame Avatars is to get them stuck on a hallway, as their navigation only moves them straight towards you, even if there is an obstacle in the way. They only spawn in Dungeons; the ones in the Castle are all real statues.

Stone Guardian
[Still working on completing the entry]
~ They wield a large stone weapon that can be parried. You can get right next to them if they are using a hammer, and they won't be able to hit you..Their other attack is a shockwave of blue fire that appears when they jump. It does not count as magic, and can be blocked by the Tower Shield.

Flaming Core
[Still working on completing the entry]
~ They spawn near flame crystals, and sometimes spawn in pairs. They float towards you before lunging.

Glass Elemental
[Still working on completing the entry]
~ They are stationary enemies that fire magical projectiles when they see you. They fire 4 projectiles cardinally, then diagonally, then fire one homing bolt. They spawn with glass crystals.

Ice Elemental
[Still working on completing the entry]
~ Giant snowflakes that float after you before either cartwheeling into you or firing 3 to 5 mini snowflakes.
Bestiary (Bosses)
If you are wondering where I get these descriptions, the bosses do have descriptions when you inspect them, but they have no entries in the notes tab except for "The Lost and Hungry."

Achievements - Row 1-3
This will contain all the in game achievements, and possibly the Steam achievements as well later. All the achievements will be shown and listed in this format:

Name of Achievement
-In Game Description
-In Game Hint/ Description 2/ Hint at Effect
-Effect of Obtaining the achievement
-Methods of getting the achievement

As you can tell, there are actually benefits for unlocking the achievements, and I will include those that I know of, as well as my guesses on what they do. I don't have all the achievements myself, but I will take a guess at the ones I don't have anyways. The ones I don't have will be marked with a (*). Guesses will be marked with one to three question marks, the more there are, the less certain I am of the accuracy. One means I am almost completely certain, two means I am making a guess that I think is probably correct but needs some evidence or further research, and three is a guess that is mostly conjecture.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Should Have Been There
-There is nothing I can do...The fight is over but he is still bleeding badly, and there is nothing I can do to stop it. I just kept walking
-Memory of a Coward
-Unlocks the Coward Character
-Have an Ally bleed out to death. Bleed out is shown by red damage numbers over the targets head. Elementals and small critters (slimes, spiders, etc) can not bleed out. Zombies can actually bleed out.

At Veil's Door
-I will die if I can not stop the bleeding.
-I am tougher for surviving the experience and built with greater fortitude.
-I believe this increases your base fortitude?
-Recover from bleed-out. Easiest way is to use a surge when near death.

Masterful Lockpicking
-Fine! I don't need a key anyways! I will just smash it open!
-Next time I will remember to bring an extra key.
-You now spawn with one extra key.
-Break a ton of locked things? Break an enchanted door? Got this achievement randomly when a Stone Avatar broke a locked chest accidentally.

Efficient Execution
-It would have taken far too long to do each prisoner independently, so I lined three of them up and killed them all with one swing.
-All executioners need their axe and now I may find one of my own.
-Unlocks a new axe-type weapon??
-Kill three non-critter enemies in one swing. The easiest method is to head to a town or somewhere else with Civilians and get three of them in a corner. The Half a Shield memento is extremely useful for this, as it increases cleaving damage.

Cold Snap
-I knew he could see me with those frozen eyes. One quick thrust and his blood welled up through a hole in the ice. He never had a chance.
-The cold is a weapon. I will use [it] to kill my frostbitten enemies even faster.
-Guaranteed critical when hitting a frozen enemy.
-Freeze an enemy completely (the ice sprite, not just slow) and then kill them when they are frozen. Imbuing your weapon with a level 2 or 3 Ice enchantment makes this extremely easy. I don't think a level 1 enchantment freeze is possible unless you pick a fast weapon and have a lot of dexterity, but it's still more likely you will kill them before you freeze them.

Death By Flaming Arrow
-I've found a great way to scare off bears and other large beasts. If I'm luck, I may end up cooking dinner too.
-Memory of a Hermit
-Unlocks the Hermit Character
-Kill an enemy with a flaming arrow. I don't think it matters whether the fire kills them or the arrow does, but I could be wrong. Can be achieved by shooting through a fire or using a level 2 or higher fire enchantment.

Healthy
-I need to stay as healthy as possible
-The benefits of healthy living will help me in the coming days. I feel I can live even longer now.
-Increased base health?
-Have over 200 current and max health.

Defensive
-I will live a thousand stolen lives while you break yourselves upon my shield.
-Memory of a Soldier
-Unlocks the Soldier character.
-Block a ton of attacks in a set amount of time. Can be achieved from being mobbed by a ton of enemies, or from an enemy that attacks extremely quickly. Best shields to use are the Tower Shield or the Slab of Stone, although others will work too. I achieved this one from just shielding during the Free boss fight (I cheesed that one using Plague Mite and Alarm Bell)

To The Death
-I am not done yet... And you will be coming with me!
-I can not bleed out now... There is still so much to do... I will slow the bleeding.
-Longer bleed out duration?
-Kill a boss while bleeding out. You can just whittle their hp down until they can take only one more attack, and then let them damage you into bleed out. You don't need to die, so feel free to use the surge.

Popular
-I will need at least ten loyal followers to take up my cause.
-I seem to have a small cult following.
-You now spawn with a Blood Cult follower.
-Gather ten followers. Elementals and Flies don't count. Easiest way is to get the Animate Plants spell and spam it in clusters of plants in the Forest or the Swamp. Plant elementals die after a set period, so find good spots first before using it.

Learned
-I poured through the library and found five books that should be of great help to me. Now to deal with my insatiable thirst...
-Memory of a Historian
-Unlocks the Historian character
-Read and learn five spellbooks in one run.

Lord of the Flies
-Is there even still a man amongst the cloud of flies?
-The insects follow me everywhere and even simple fruit flies will join their brethren.
-Fruit flies (the black dot ones) will ally themselves with you when approached.
-Spam Fly spells and store up a ton of flies. Don't let them attack anything until you finish. 3-5 casts should do the trick. If you really don't care then just break the spell by casting it a bunch, that will guarantee the achievement.

Smithy
-Why go to the trouble of purchasing and transporting steel ingots when I can just break down the five or so weapons I keep at home?

Dumb question, but how do you backstab? Is it literally just using a stab attack on someones back or is there something more to it?

"Memory of a Rock" He is so fucking slow
Atropos 18 Mar, 2018 @ 1:56pm
You forgot the achievement "The Cursed One" in which you randomly encounter Havel the Rock from Dark Souls. Personally I found him in the desert. He has a small chance to spawn amd is incredibly tough especially early on. The achievement unlocks him as a playable character
