Datapad Locations Guide w/ Screenshots & Video
By unwaveringresolve
The purpose of this guide is to show the locations of all the Edencorp datapads in every level of Raw Data. Because running in circles looking for documents is tedious, when you could be smashing robots.

Introduction
This guide aims to show where all the datapads in every level are. The levels are not large, and the datapads are not difficult to spot. Even so, they can be squirreled away in odd places, and some levels give you a limited window of time in which to find them.

If you don't like spoilers (why did you click on this guide?) you can find the datapads yourself by searching through the levels for glowing "[]" shaped objects. Pick them up with the grip button. Datapads you've never picked up before glow blue-white. Datapads you found on previous runthroughs of the level glow dull orange. There are 50 datapads in the game, and every map has exactly 5 datapads - a three-part audiolog, plus two additional pieces of Intel. They are almost always in a place you can reach without stretching or crouching. You can view your discoveries from the main menu in the lobby.

Three achievements are tied to datapad collection: "Down the Rabbit Hole" (for picking up one), "Curiouser and Curiouser" (for picking up 25) and "The Whole Story" (for picking up all 50).

I appreciate any feedback, especially if you wish to contribute screenshots of your own or if you find a datapad in a place I have not marked.
Hardpoint
The datapads in this level are relatively easy to find, but not all of them are accessible right away. I recommend finishing the level, then going around to grab each pad before you get your briefcase and return to the lobby.

Two datapads rest on top of desks on opposite sides of the data extractor.

.

One is on the frame of the Manufacturing door on one side of the room (not to be confused with the OTHER Manufacturing door you can't reach from the start)

.

The fourth pad can't be reached until later stages of this level, when the big doors open. It's on top of a trapezoidal container.

.

This last pad is on the doorframe of the far door that missile-bots (dynomos) come from. Like the previous one, it cannot be reached until the big doors open.

Dark Source
The datapads in this room are laid out similarly to those in Hardpoint. As in Hardpoint, you won't be able to gather all of them until later stages.

Two are on top of trapezoidal containers in the starting room.

.

One is on the doorframe by the Living Quarters entrance.

.

One is on top of another stack of trapezoidal containers you can only reach after the big doors open.

.

The last one is also on the other side of the big door, hiding on a pile of barrels.

Skybound
All of the datapads in this section are immediately accessible, and there's no reason not to get them unless you mind aNg3l yelling at you.

The first one is right next to the extractor. If you're missing that one, congratulations! This guide was made especially for you.

.

The next one is one the same platform as the data cube and extractor, by the edge.

.

Go down the ramp to the left of the extractor, and the third datapad will be on top of a crate.

.

The last two are on top of barrels on either side of the lower platform, past the third pad.

Nuke Fusion
All of these datapads are reachable from the start.

The first one is very close to the data extractor - only turn around when the elevator stops, and you should see it.

.

The second one is resting on a railing on the upper platform. From the data extractor, go up the ramp and turn right.

.

The third and fourth datapads are on top of crates near the entrances to each data-chamber on the lower floor.

.

The last datapad is on top of a crate on the bridge that spans the lower floor, between the two data-chambers.

Vapor Exploit
All of these datapads are accessible from the start, and I recommend you do get them as soon as possible, before the fog obscures everything.

One is on top of a cable-box just down the ramp to the left of the data extractor.

.

Keep going in that direction (counterclockwise from the extractor) and you should find another datapad on some crates.

.

The third one can be hard to spot. It's on top of a stack of trapezoidal crates that you can climb by teleshifting, on the side of the map opposite the data extractor.

.

The fourth pad is near the third one. Head towards the robot-spewing shipping container, and you'll find it behind some containers on top of another cable-box.

.

The last one is on the corner of a platform, reachable by going towards the shipping container to the far right of the data extractor.
Extermination
This one is tricky. For starters, not every datapad is reachable at once. Worse, two of them can only be reached during the short period of time when you're fleeing from a wall of lasers. Please read this entire section before you start, because I do not advise looking things up when you have less than a minute to live.

The first two pads are on top of the crate-stacks on either side of the extractor in the first room.

.
The next two are both in the corridor you escape through when the Extermination Protocol gets serious. Be quick to grab these, because if you don't get them now then there's no going back.

One is on top of the first desk on your left.

.

The other is behind/inside the second desk on your left, right next to the door console.

.

The last datapad is stuck in one of the pillars in the chamber you finish the level in. These pillars retract once you activate the extractor, so be sure to grab the datapad as soon as you are able.

Soul Decrypt
This level is laid out as a path instead of one large map you can roam through. In effect, this means you should try to pick up each datapad as you come across it instead of trying to get them all at once.

The first pad is on top of a lantern near your starting point, just behind the briefcase-stand. You cannot return to get this one after you board the tram.

.

The second pad can be reached as soon as the tram stops. From the tram stop, it's on top of another lantern on the left.

.

The third pad is in the Watson Genomics building. Look at the wall to the right of door-Simon.

.

The fourth pad is also in WG, on top of the desk in the security room.

.

The last pad is also in Buddha's Chamber, atop a rock. Stand in front of the Buddha statue, facing away, and it will be on your right.
Cataclysm
This level has four floors. Each floor has 1-2 datapads on it, and you cannot backtrack if you miss one.

The layout of this level appears to differ from playthrough to playthrough (see the comments below). I believe the arrangement of pads and where they are hidden is consistent, but the floors they are on might not be. So I advise you to read through this section and take note of the landmarks, then look for the landmarks on *each* floor.

One pad (I found on the first floor) is stuck in a tall stack of crates.

.

Another pad (I found on the first floor also), on the opposite side of the map from the tall crate one, resting atop one of the blue boxes.

.

I found the third pad on the third floor, hiding on the side of one of those large cylindrical containers.

.

I found the fourth pad also on the third floor, sitting atop a metal box beside two blue boxes.

.

The last pad is on the last floor, on top of another blue box.
Thunder Shock
For the sake of clearer directions, I'm dividing this wide map into Blue and Orange halves. The blue half houses the blue datacube, and orange half houses the orange datacube.

One pad is on top of a trapezoidal shipping container near a teleshift beacon on the blue side of the map.

.

Another is on top of a small cylindrical container on the edge of the orange side of the map.

.

A third sits on top of another cylindrical container near the orange datacube.

.

The fourth pad is near the data extractor, on a heap of pies and containers.

.

The last pad is right by the blue datacube itself, resting on the wall/fence.

Fatal Error
This area is one big circle - nothing much to it. Every datapad is available as soon as you enter and at any phase afterwards. Might as well grab them all before dealing with the final boss' crazy mobs. I went clockwise from the extractor and picked up all five in short order.

The first is down the ramp to the right of the extractor, on the lip of that... elliptical tower thing. What is that thing? Part of a computer system?

.

Keep going counterblockwise up the next ramp. The next datapad is on a blue box.

.

Go counterclockwise to victory. A third datapad will be on another of those elliptical towers.
.

The fourth datapad is roughly opposite where the data extractor is, on top of a crate.

.

And finally, the last datapad in the entire game is on top of.... you guessed it, a crate, down the ramp to the left of the extractor.

Thanks to Sagefire for finding the last pad in Thundershock.

Thanks to blah and yeowan for studying Cataclysm and confirming that the layout of the level map changes.

For some reason all the images in this guide are no longer visible, can it be fixed?

Echoing Yeowan, on my play though Cataclysm (Bishop, casual) 2 container/pad combos were on different levels than the guide.

The "1st pad, level 1" quad crate was on level 3.
The "4th pad, level 3" metal box beside two crates was on level 2.
yeowan 4 Jan, 2018 @ 2:37pm
yeah, after a long struggle i can confirm that the 4th and 5th datapad availability is dependant either on the character or the difficulty level you are playing on Cataclysm.
If you cant find all 5, start a game with Elder on Normal, then one with Boss on Casual.
(Note that Cataclysm layout changed compared (Jan 4, 2018) to the screenshots or the video in this guide)
Also, please congratulate me to obtain all achievements ;)

I found all the smart pads and I didn't even know this guide existed when I filmed the video. lol

Thank you, Sagefire. I've added it to the list.

The last pad in Thundershock is near the blue core, sitting in one of the small alcoves in the wall next to the core. And I also suspect there may be a bug or something that causes some of the datapads to appear intermittently; on my first time through Cataclysm I could only find two of the pads despite extensive searching, but on the next run I found them all pretty easily.
unwaveringresolve  [author] 21 Nov, 2017 @ 6:07pm
It could be. For reference, I did Thunder Shock and Fatal Error on Hard mode, and the other eight levels on Casual.
Toastender 21 Nov, 2017 @ 6:04pm
Sadly I only thought of doing so afterwards, but you can hardly miss it if you look for the cylinders. I am not sure, but maybe the floor order/ datapad positions are affected by difficulty?
unwaveringresolve  [author] 21 Nov, 2017 @ 5:05pm
Interesting - it didn't occur to me that they might move around. Did you take a screenshot?
Toastender 21 Nov, 2017 @ 3:24pm
Turns out the one on the second floor simply did not exist for me, instead there was another one on the fourth floor on one of those cylindrical things.
