A New Hope

My new map is another one in typical Black Fire style :-). Again I spent a lot of effort in creating a breath taking scenery for your cities. But what is really special about this map...?

*** You have in- and outgoing ship routes not only on sea level!
*** You have another two ship routes on higher ground!

Of course you have also the "Black Fire standard features" on this map.
- Map can be played with 9 tiles, but is optimized for 25 tiles
- Basic road- and railroad-system to get started
- Maximum number of in/outgoing connections available (4x road, 4x train, 4x ship, 2x plane)
- all resources available
- Intermediate map (non european)
- lots of nice places with a breathtaking view on your city

Black Fire and others. Finally got there, the Rattified version of A New Hope is now released and available here http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1312973584 . Not sure if I would say perfect (nothing ever is), but I think its as good as I can get. Enjoy.

@rattusprat: I checked out your version of "a new hope"...... ABSOLUTLY GREAT WORK !!!!!!! You REALLY did a great improvement on the map. In my screenshots you can see a lot of pictures with feedback. I was VERRY critical ! so you have the chance to make your version of the map even more perfect - but I know some of these chances are quite some work to do - and maybe not worth the effort.
Maybe there could also be done some more improvement on the detailling (trees etc.) but there a better modders than me to evaluate this.
again... I REALLY LIKE YOUR WORK !! and the next time I will play this map I will definetly use your version of the map ! :-) I am looking forward to the final result ! :steamhappy:

Black Fire, it took a bit more play testing than expected to get everything working, hampered by some game crashes, but the "Rattified" version of A New Hope is ready for you to have a look at.

For the moment it is set to be visible to friends only. Let me know what you think or if you see any issues, as I would like you to be happy before this update to your work is released.

Hi rattusprat, first of all... thanks for asking :-). I also thought about updating my map after the feedback of BonBonB... but I never found the time to get started ;-). So I am happy that you did it ;-). If you want I can have a look at your version of the map, and maybe give you some ideas for an update also. But I don't expect you to follow my ideas! You can share the map with me before making it public by adding me to your friends on steam, and switching the "visibility" of the map on "for friends" in the steam workshop.
....so... GO FOR IT ! :steamhappy:

Black Fire - brilliant map. It has inspired me to get into the game again after my last city build stalled some months ago. However, I wanted to tidy up a few of the clunky intersections noted by BonBonB before starting a city.

Well... I ended up doing a bit more than just tidying up intersections, such trying out custom bridge assets for the first time and adding a couple of other details. I hope you agree that some of the vanilla bridges, while perfectly done, look a bit off compared to the dramatic scale of the landscape.

I am quite happy with my work, which has tinkered with the road and rail network but left the landscape mostly unchanged. I am thinking to make this my first upload to the workshop soon as I think others would be interested in the different take on the map, however I want to check with you if that is OK by you as the creator of the original map. Let me know - I'm also OK if you to have a look at what I've done first (though not sure how to go about that).

Hello BonBonB, thanks a lot for the great feedback and even more thanks for your detailed review of my map/work. I really like that you are going into the details and that you are evaluating on basis of a high standard. This will keep me motivated to always try to do an even better map next time :-).
