How to get the jumpscare
Upon entering the game, you have basic multiple controls that have the corresponding functions to them:

Space Bar jumps,
W is to walk forward,
S is to walk backward,
A is to sidestep left,
and D is to sidestep right.

You can turn on your flashlight by pressing F, and sprinting by holding Shift.
There is no stamina bar to worry about, so you can sprint for as long as you need to.

Now, to actually get to the "jumpscare":

Continue along the gravel path that you see in front of you. If any buildings you encounter throughout the forest, don't enter any of them otherwise the jumpscare itself won't be able to surpass inside.

You have to keep walking outside and remain outside on the path until you reach the point on where you die and the game brings you to the "Game Over" screen.

Don't sprint, don't jump, don't turn on your flashlight. If you hear any strange or eerie noises, stop for a bit, then continue walking.

Overall, the jumpscare is actually just a pair of old sharp claws that run across your face while it plays a sound. Then you automatically die.
How the game actually ends
I'll come back with information once I've actually beaten it.

Unless someone in the comments can post on what happens at the end, that'd be great.

Pretty obvious.

You only need to stop and wait for the rustling (which is the scare crow noise from the base game) and the squeaks (which is the dummy noise from the original games). The game ends with a little message when you reach the gate to the Pineview Drive House.
