In this guide I will try to expplain the basics of the game, and some hiden or unexplained mechanics, also update the patch changes.

INTRODUCTION
Hi
I will try to explain/show to anyone reading this guide some basics about controls and rules of Oldage: Tactics Online.
I will try to keep up with in game changes and update often.

The youtube videos included aren't my but of developers of this game.
LOBBY

<< LOBBY >>
-In lobby you can :
> Find Matches
> Find Ranked Matches [ after you have atleast 10 units ]
> Buy Units , Skins and Coins
> View your ranking
> Chat with friends/other players

-On the right side you have your rooster with all your units.
> you can add them in to match QUEUED UNITS by clicking at them
> you can DISSMIS unit by draging it to the DISsMIS UNIT slot, you will lose the unit and if the units have skin it will be lost too, in return for some gold { for 33% of the bought price }

-On the bottom is your QUEUED UNITS slots
> you must add units there before starting match
> a minimum of 2 units of which 1 must be ROYALTY unit
> you can also position your units by draging them to the corresponding slot they represent in space where your units will start.

BASIC CONTROLS
<< BASICS CONTROLS >>
- In combat each player get to act in their turn.
- Each turn is limited by time limit
> each player have also SAFE TIMER [ your total time dont get taxed when you manage to finish your turn befeore it runs out ]
- The game ends if one of the players kill the enemy's royalty unit, or one of players surrenders or if the time runs out.
- In each turn players get to execute 3 actions
- Players have to chose an action by clicking on its button or selecting shortkey (1,2,3) and then clicking on an unit that player want to use and preform action by dragging unit to the target.
- Players can also skip their turn or remain actions by clicking skip button
- Players can surrender by clicking surrender button in the options menu
ACTIONS
- Each unit have set of 3 different action commands represented by its colour:
> MOVE [blue] - moves your unit [ each units have different movements]
> ATTACK [orange] - makes offensive action [ each unit have their own attack, and attack range]
> DEFENSE [green] - makes defensive action [each units have some special ability]

- Each unit can only make each action once in players turn. [ same unit cannot move/attack/defend twice in one turn, but players can move, attack or defend with multiple units in one turn ]
Environment
Each map is different and each of them have their different pros and cons, but every map have some repearing elements:

>BUSHES<
- Unit that ends its turn in bushes becomes in next turn invisible to other player.
- Besing invisble also grants 1sqm. movement bonus

>WATER<
- Slows unit movement
- Units can move just 1sqm. into the water.
- Unit that moves from the water tile to land tile can move on full movement range.

>TREES<
- Well they are just trees, they block unit movement and attacks

>SPECIALS<
- Some maps have hidden objects that when unit steps on restores 1 missing health.
>>Beach map (7x7) -Starfish
>>Swamp map (7x7) - Lilypads
>>Forrest map (11x11) - Piles of wood
>>Desert map (11x11) - Piles of bones
UNITS
Each unit have their remaining actions and health represented on the window above them.
- The blue, orange and green lights represent remaining actions that an unit can preform.
- The red lights represent the units remaining health.

> If the unit's health is reduced to 0 health it becomes a corpse
--> corpses block unit movement
--> corpses can be moved by attacking them, they will be pushed at direction of attack, they can be pushed even by diagonal attacks.
--> corpses dont block atacks, so players can attack or deffend units positioned behind or next to it.
--> corpses can be revived by bishop
THE ROYALTY

ROYALTY UNIT
HP: 3
Movement: 2 sqm.
Deffense: Ranged attack in 2 diagonal sqm. for 1 dmg.
After preforming attack ROYALTY is unable to attack again until it moves
Special: Buff - adds 2 movement sqm. and 1 attack dmg to one unit in 1 free sqm. range.
Buff lasts for 6 turns or until buffed unit attacks or moves.

Core unit you neeed 1 in battle or you cannot play.
Be aware that you can buff enemy units by mistake.
THE BISHOP

BISHOP UNIT
HP: 2
Movement: 1 sqm.
Atttack: Attacks unit in 2 sqm. for 1 dmg
Deffense: Charges for 3 turns and then in range of 2 diagonal sqm. cleanse target unit from all buffs or revive dead unit with 1hp

- Can cleanse and revive enemy units
- Players can cancel charging of deffense by attacking the bishop
- Players can move corpse that is about to be revived by attacking it
- Players can move unit that is about to be cleansed by attacking it with shieldmaiden
THE KNIGHT

KNIGHT UNIT
HP: 5
Movement: 2 sq.
Attack: 1 sqm. range melee attack for 1 dmg
Deffense: Buff that add aditional 1 dmg to knights attack, lasts 4 turns or until knight atttacks or move.

- In video it states that knight have movement of 3 sq. that was later changed to movement of 2 sq.
THE THIEF

THIEF UNIT
HP: 2
Movement: 3 sqm.
Attack: Melle attack in 1 sqm. range for 1 dmg and makes target poisoned for 4 turns.
Deffense: The thief makes itself invisible for the other player. Lasts for 2 turns or until it attacks or is attacked.

- Stealth: Being invisible adds 1 movement sqm. to the invisible unit, same as if unit was hiding in bushes
- Thiefs invisibility buff and the bushes stealth bonuses doesn't stack together.
- Be aware that thiefs poison can be cleansed by bishop or priest units.
- Video states that poison lasts 8 truns -> changed to 4 turns
- Video states that the invisibilty buff lasts 4 turns -> changed to 2 turns
THE MARKSMAN

MARKSMAN UNIT
HP: 3
Movement: 2 sqm.
Attack: Ranged attack in 3 diagonal sqm. for 1dmg. After attacking, the marksman unit is unable to attack again until it reloads the crossbow..
Deffense: Reloads the crossbow

- The video states that marksman unit have 4HP -> later changed to 3HP
THE PIKEMAN

PIKEMAN UNIT
HP: 4
Movement:2 sqm.
Attack:Melee attacks with range of 2sqm. dealing 1 dmg to target.
Deffense Buff that adds 1 dmg to attack, but also decrease unit's movement by 1 for 4 turns and unit receives twice as much damage.
THE PRIEST

PRIEST UNIT
HP: 2
Movement: 2sqm.
Attack: Debuff in 2 diagonal sqm. range, that decreases the target dmg by 1 and increase its charging by 2.
Deffense: Buffs target in 2 diagonal sqm. that adds a magical shield that blocks 1dmg.
- Be aware that you can by mistake buff enemy units or debuff your own units
- Priests buff remove poison from target unit
- In video unit have 1 sqm. movement range -> later changed to 2 sqm. movement range.
- In video units buff last 8 turns -> later changed buffs duration to 6 turns
THE SHIELDMAIDEN

SHIELDMAIDEN UNIT
HP: 4
Movement: 2 sq.
Attack:: Melee attack with shield in 1sqm. range for 1 dmg, target unit is pushed 1sqm. in the direction of attack.
Deffense: Unit hide behind the shield blocking all incoming damage, lasts for 6 turns or until she is attacked

- Attacking while the defense is active deals no damage
- In video its stated that the defense buff last for 8 turns -> later changed to 6 turns
- Thiefs poison ignores the deffense (because it blocks only physical damage, and poison is not. physical)
