4-Lane Avenue With Dedicated Tram Lanes & Trees

Popis
Default four-lane avenue from the Snowfall DLC with dedicated median tram lanes, now featuring trees and decorative planters along the sidewalks and the median. It functions exactly like the default tram avenue for gameplay purposes.

Trees can be changed in-game using the Network Skins mod. The trees I used were chosen from the few that won't clip through tall buildings or tram power lines. I have not tested loading this road without the required trees.

Trees and planters on roads count towards the game's prop/tree limit, so this road might be a bad idea for prop-heavy games.

Known Issues:
  • In some instances, trees become slightly uncentered from their designated planters. Probably the only fix is to combine tree and planter into a single asset, which I am currently unable to do.
  • Cims will walk through trees because the pedestrian path width is unchanged and the trees & planters cannot be moved closer to the travel lanes.

I'm going to post this on the general discussions board as well, hoping to get more modder eyes on this.

CALLING ALL NETWORK MODDERS

I really enjoy using trams. Several modders have created great tram roads. BadPeanut has done a great job with some tram roads. My favorite 4-lane tram road (by Homer2101) is heree . You'll see it has dedicated center tram with trees in the middle and on the sides. Although I'm partial to this particular road, we need significantly more asymmetrical tram roads. I would build them myself if I knew how.

I'm sure I'm not alone on this.

It's fairly trivial to re-designate the tram lane. In the road editor, create a new road and use either this road's template or the Snowfall tram avenue. Go to the segments list and delete the 'box' segments; ditto for the nodes list. Then go to the lane list, open the center lane (located at 0), open the props list and delete the 'tram pole' props. Now open each tram lane on the lane list, open vehicle types, and check bicycles and uncheck trams. Also set the speed limit to 0.8 (default bicycle lane speed limit). To stop folk from walking on the median, delete the two pedestrian lanes at the center.

For grass, you'd have to either change the road texture or use decal props.
