Maximising Boss Souls during Competition
Using this method will give you about double the amount of boss souls if you are actively playing (not idling or sleeping).

Pro Tip: During competition never use the Prestige button.

Enter the competition using the [Enter Competition?] button at the bottom of the game screen.

When your stage clear time starts to slow down (reach 1.00 second or greater for example) exit the competition by moving your mouse to the [Enrolled] button.

Once you hover your mouse over this button it will now read [Leave Competition?].

Press this button to leave the competition. Do not prestige as you should continue your run to higher stages. As soon as you leave the competition your stage clearing time will drop down to fast speeds again (since you are no longer fighting the double strength monsters of the competition).

When your non-competition run starts to again slow down at the now higher stages then reenter the competition. There is no need to hit the Prestige button as entering the competition automatically prestiges you.

Continue repeating the entering, leaving, entering ... all during the competition. Now you will be able to activate both Raid Soul talents to keep raising levels for that expensive Round Table as you will be collecting boss souls at a tolerable level. You will really miss the extra boss souls during the odd non-competition days and might even have to readjust your talents to compensate.

Competition occurs every 2nd day and runs for 24 hours. The Timer above the Enter Competition Button is always counting down either: 1) Time left in the competition; or 2) TIme remaining until the next competition Day.

If you place in the top 50 players you are given a small reward in Tokens = to half of your end highest competition stage. A few tokens may be thrown your way if you do not place in the top 50. The Stats section will also tell you your Highest Competition Highstage and Rank if you forget it in a few days.

Happy hunting!
