DOS 2 Character Planner by Etsilopp
Character Planner (MS Excel 2010 workbook).
Allows to allocate attribute, ability and talent points, shows their impact on character stats.

On the Main sheet set the difficulty, character’s level, race/origin, weapon, and all the data will be revealed.
Almost every stat has a description – just select a corresponding cell.
Other sheets have a detailed description of all skill groups, summons, and status effects (including immunity, resistance and treatment).

It is still for Classic.

Reduced Number Bloat by Baardvark
This mod is handy for reducing the need to constantly hunt for gear to re-equip after leveling up, since items should last 2+ levels, depending on the version you select.
Technically, all these mods do is change the scaling of vitality, and the game automatically calculates the appropriate values for armor and damage from that, so relative balance of vanilla should be maintained.
For reference, default scaling is 28% exponential growth, with points in the game where there are huge jumps in vitality growth, leading to vitality in the 10s of thousands. This makes constant gear-hunting necesarry, and level differences between enemies make fights impossible or trivial.
Personally, I played with the "No Scaling -- 100 vitality start" version. It is quite fun. Here is some feedback.
  • Epic items do feel epic now, since the basic property of items are the same regardless of level. The only difference is the enchantment.
  • Since all weapons deal the same damage, I dont need to update my gear every time I level up. I just pick the weapons and armors which have the most suitable enchantment.
  • Character progress comes from attribution pts, skill pts and talent pts. You can not easily kill monsters just because they are 1-2 levels lower than you.
  • Spell damage stay the same, unless you put pts in attributions or skills. It is easy to see the growth of power of my character from number. It is also easy to see how powerful the enemy are just from the number of their vitality and armor.

There are two mods can address the number bloat by leveling your item to your current level and level all the enemies to your current level. But I just like the no growth version, in which I can easily see how powerful I have become by looking at the damage numbers.
You should choose as you like.

Cheat
Statement
  • In my first play through, I abused thievery to swim in gold, but I found constant stealing boring. This is why I include mods which give you hefty amount of gold at the start and make the skill books as cheap as nothing, so you can skip the process of stealing every NPC again and again.
  • Since you don't lack of money, you do not need to open every container and pick up every objects anymore. I remember at the middle of the game, my inventory was so full that it taked about 10 seconds for the game to auto sort my inventory. And it take 2-3 seconds to open my inventory. Cheating gold saves you a lot of precious gaming time. You can focus more on the true game play, such as combat, explore and dialogue.
  • I personally don't like the idea of gating skill books, so I include a mod to let you have access to all skill books at the start of game.

@Shaggy people are allowed to play how they want?

if you enable like half of these at the same time the game becomes so convenient and unchallenged that its not even worth playing. The gift bag ones in here didnt even need a "better and more expansive" mod cuz if you made it "better" it would just be too convenient. Might as well turn on no target and noclip while ur at it, because the walls, and enemies actually attacking you are to hard and inconvenient. like i even double looked through the entire list and every mod generally takes away actually exploring/adventuring to get farther. Whats the point of even trying to get any armor, craft skills, scrolls, etc? when you can just buy all of it for a low price cuz mod. Almost all of these mods take away from the exploration, adventure, loot novelty, loot finding. literally makes all of that pretty much skippable.
the only halfway decent mod i saw was the re balance mod which was just a gameplay combat switch up than a big stack of convenience mods all on top of each other.
