Still, I appreciate the work you've put into it. And after that little hint from the video I did solve the rest of it. Thumbs up!
I *thought* that it was not possible to place two portals on a 128-wide surface (I swear it didn't work when I tried!)

The first screenshot shows how I was able to place two portals on one panel, and then position the cube to redirect the laser through it. This caused the excursion funnel to change polarity, which allowed me to get both cubes up onto the hard light bridges.
(I can provide more screenshots if needed, I didn't expect this part to be an exploit, although it's obvious in retrospect.)
This let me get both cubes onto the opposite side of the big emancipation grill relatively easily. I then did the same two-portals-one-panel exploit, which let me redirect the laser around the corner and open the door, as shown in the last two screenshots.
