How to mod AI Jets into FSW! (Compatible with ATC)
By Drawyah
This is a tutorial to show people how to add jet aircraft as AI to Dovetail Games Flight Sim World! Not many aircraft are 100% compatible with this simulator just yet, but there are a couple models from AI Aardvark and FAIB who through World of AI will be enabled within the simulator! Follow this tutorial and you are on your way to have aircraft within your environment.

Introduction to FSW Modding
This is a tutorial to show people how to add jet aircraft as AI to Dovetail Games Flight Sim World! Not many aircraft are 100% compatible with this simulator just yet, but there are a couple models from AI Aardvark and FAIB who through World of AI will be enabled within the simulator! Follow this tutorial and you are on your way to have aircraft within your environment.

I have also made a video tutorial for those that would like a more visual way of explaining things, or listen to the instructions in the background instead - This can be viewed below.
Modding AI Aircraft into FSW
The first thing you will need to do is set up World of AI which we will be using for this tutorial. Head to the website below and select 'Packages' and 'All World of AI Packages'.
http://www.world-of-ai.com/

The first thing you will need to download is the World of AI installer itself, download it through flightsim.com (free) or through Avsim (account required).

Once downloaded, move it into a separate folder, we will deal with it later. Now download which airline packages you would like to install.

NOTE: YOU MUST DOWNLOAD FSX NATIVE PACKAGES - FS9 OR UNSPECIFIED LINKS WILL NOT WORK IN FLIGHT SIM WORLD.

Download the airlines you want and drag them into the same folder as the Installer. In this tutorial I will be doing US Airways and Delta Airlines as these work the best within Flight Sim World, there are many more that also work.

It is now time to extract the files, we will deal with the installer first. Create a new folder and name it 'Installer'. Drag and drop the woains24.zip file into the new folder and extract it, it will set up all the files that are required.

Head back out into the folder with the airline packages and extract all of them, overwriting any pop-ups you may see. Once all the airlines are extracted, delete the original Zip files to avoid confusion since the World of AI installer will only work with 'airline.woai.zip' files and nothing else.

Head back into the installer and run the 'WOAI Installer.exe' program. Since the program defaults to FSX and FS2004, you will need to tell it where to find Flight Sim World. On the drop-down, change 'Target:' to 'Microsoft Flight Simulator X'. Now click on the two dots next to the 'FSX path:' option and find your Flight Sim World directory - change the target file from fs9.exe to fsx.exe and it will work.

Once you have your directory found, the program will now adjust to Flight Sim World. Install the packages as you would with any standard FSX World of AI package by following the on-screen instructions.

NOTE: YOU CAN INSTALL MULTIPLE PACKAGES AT A TIME - WHEN SELECTING WHAT PACKAGE TO INSTALL HIGHLIGHT MULTIPLE .woai.zip FILES.

Once installed, head over to your Flight Sim World folder, there is still something you need to do. Go to the Sim Objects/Airplanes folder, scroll till you see all of your World of AI packages. What you now need to do is DELETE every WOA aircraft folder that does not include FSX in the name. That may be a lot of packages, but these will all create error messages within the simulator.

With FSX only aircraft in the folder, you are now ready to run Flight Sim World.
Launching FSW
Once you have the AI aircraft installed, you can now load up Flight Sim World as normal. Select an aircraft and a location where you know they will spawn and start the flight.

When spawned in, everything will look very much the same, but right-click and move your mouse over to Air Traffic, you will see some new aircraft listed in the simulator.

Select one of these aircraft, you will now be viewing your AI jet within Flight Sim World! These aircraft are also fully compatible with Air Traffic Control and with the new text-to-speech voice pack, every airline will correctly be pronounced within the system.

Not all aircraft will, however, be fully compatible, leaving you with a few glitches in some aircraft such as the Airbus A321 or Boeing 737-800 as Flight Sim World has a different way of compiling models and textures of which some do not work. Delete these from the Sim Objects/Airplanes folder and these will disappear from your simulator.

Other than the issues mentioned, adding jet AI aircraft to Flight Sim World is a good way of bringing some life into your simulator, especially in breaking the monotony of having only general aviation aircraft within the world. If you did learn from this tutorial, don't forget to give it a thumbs up and also share this out with other users! Do also check me out on YouTube, as I do numerous flight simulator videos and whenever I learn a new secret or trick, I generally will make a video explaining how to get it working for you guys.
