Earning Platinum on this level is very easy. All you need is a pair of Howitzers at the middle and three mortars (Mark 2 minimum) directly in front of them. If you want more variation, try an Anti-Tank battery at the left-hand side instead of a third mortar, in front of the nearby enemy tank factory. You perhaps need to repair once or twice, but it works fine. Make use of the nearby Bomber unit when overwhelmed by tanks.

Destroying the railyard is easy. Just install a Howitzer and follow the shell, curving it toward anything on rails.

Decoration: Not on My Watch!
This is the reason I wrote this guide. A word of warning: Wavelist Rewind doesn't work when aiming to earn Decorations. Doing so will erase your progress, forcing you to Restart the level anyway.

You will immediately have your attention drawn to a Mk. 2 Anti-Air battery. Assume direct control and annihilate the bomber it begins shooting at during the opening cutscene. If it crashes before you blow it up, you must restart.


Construct one other AA battery on the far-left or far-right to help you finish Wave 3. Mk. 1 works fine.


Before Wave 4 begins, sell this same AA battery. If you don't sell it before Wave 4, then it will shoot down the bombers. This is a problem because it will essentially steal your kills since Mk. 1 has a higher DPS (damage-per-second) than other models. You will want to keep the starter Mk. 2 flak turret as it works suitably for this. I personally don't upgrade it because the AI fails at using its Mk. 3 adaptation, refusing to fire on its own which can lead to problems against fighter plane waves.

You can actually hold RMB (right mouse button) to aim your AA gun through a scope. This helps immensely. The bombers will nervously approach at first only to seemingly circle around to retreat. Do not shoot them down. Be patient and wait for them to fly back around. They will not leave the map, they will only leave the map when they finish your bombing run flying at your toybox, not away from it.


A bomber does not count as your kill if it is shot down by turrets other than one directly controlled by yourself or if it impacts with the ground and blows up that way. There are exactly 11 bombers in this level. Follow this guide and you should earn the Decoration easily.

@arafat200 play on hard difficulty, that way the bomber doesn't die in the opening scene.

It's impossible to get 3 bombers from opening scene. Before i start playing, first one is already down. Please help!!

I think I also noticed a problem with the German Somme mission. Road Closed doesn't seem to be available...

Well I finally managed to get it, although I lost nearly half of my health trying to do it. I think this one is more annoying than the Helicopter achievement though...the one where you have to shoot down a helicopter with your tank.

Retracting my previous statement. It's possible, but I've noticed that 9 times out of 10, there usually is only a split second to react, or else you have to restart. I've attempted this about maybe 20 or 30 times, and only twice have I been able to shoot down all bombers at the beginning. The other times are either the bomber getting downed before I have a chance to react, or my own error in not being fast enough to rotate the turret to the next target. Any pointers on if there's any patterns I should notice or is it just pure luck that I get to the AA before it has a chance to shoot the first bomber down?
