"Writing in 1933, in her book Shetland Traditional Lore, Jessie Saxby (1842-1940) made up the idea of the Wulvers: Wulvers are wolfmen, peaceful and even caring creatures who won't attack humans. They're a race of intelligent beastmen, and there's a story of a wulver who took care of a sick man and brought fresh fish to his window every day, so he wouldn't starve.

It's really great art! I just love the fact that someone felt Werewolves didn't get the right kind of love and decided to make a friendly version lol. While I'm all for historical accuracy I still choose to believe they're out there somewhere, anyway. Then again I'm a furry so I may just happen to know a few, hehe.

@Zidders:
Thank you so much for that info! That makes me want to read more about it. It's a really old piece now, but I'll still add that to the description :)

I love this art. That said, the Wulver isn't from Celtic myth. The Wulver is actually a hoax-albeit one that wasn't created in the name of hurting anyone. https://www.shetlandmuseumandarchives.org.uk/blog/the-real-story-behind-the-shetland-wulver
