Overwatch Ignores Concealment Wotc

Beskrivning
Vanilla (Non-WotC) Version: http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=643456381

A.K.A. the Xcom EW Overwatch Rules

Removes the condition against firing from concealment for all reaction fire abilities in the game.
Also allows the normal reaction fire penalty to be applied to reaction fire shots fired from concealment for all reaction fire abilities in the game.

This removes the annoying "Overwatch doesn't fire from concealment" rule while, balancing it by restoring the typical reaction fire aim penalty to those reaction fire shots taken from concealment.

Compatibility:
There shouldn't be any conflicts with other mods. I'm not directly modifying the default templates or anything, just ducking in and editing them after they've been created.

For a slightly different take on Overwatch rules that still allows reaction fire abilities to fire from concealment but does not apply the standard reaction fire aim penalty, check out Overwatch Disrespects Concealment Wotc instead:

+1 for Any idea if there is a way to exclude ever vigilant from going off with this mod :(
TatlTael 17 nov, 2021 @ 10:06
Are there any exceptions for overwatch incurred by Ever Vigilant? It seems like this would just automatically break your concealment otherwise.

Will this be compatible with Musashi's RPGO?

@yes_commander:
Be aware that using this, or other mods which use a X2AmbientNarrativeCriteria hook, can silently break other mods.

Just installed. Immediately broke my concealment on accident by overwatching. ;)

This will take some getting used to, but I've been hoping to find this exact thing for quite a while (I played a lot of unmodded WotC, took some time away, and now getting back into it with mods for the first time).

Thank you!

Hey Divine Lucubration:
Looks like these Overwatch mods also use a X2AmbientNarrativeCriteria hook. I posted about reported issues with using those in your Sniper and Infantry mods' Discussion threads.

@Boge - I understand. I'm sorry, but this mod is just not going to do that. What you describe is technically possible, but it's also substantially more difficult than just changing the behavior of Overwatch abilities in general. It's not something I'm going to invest the time into it right now.
Boge 19 sep, 2017 @ 11:56
Basically I want this to NOT replace overwatch, but to give me a second overwatch option to ignore concealment.

I don't want to be stuck with one or the other. I want to choose how I want it to function depending on the situation. Now combine that with Smart Overwatch (not updated) and then you have a real freaking rad overwatch mod. Options, options, options!! Or maybe just give me a true interrupt system like Silent Storm or Jagged Alliance. I just got a soldier that Interrupt skill, haven't used it yet, but maybe that's what I'm after, a mod to give all soldiers that instead of overwatch.

RusBear, hunkering down doesn't do what Boge wants
