Intro

There are heroes and zones that aren't accessible in the current game version (Ver. 1.3). And in this guide, you will learn how to modify a data file to include those heroes and zones in your campaign.

Warning:
This guide involves editting the following file:
\LostTechnology\script\official\scenario.dat
Be sure to make a backup file, and place the backup outside the game folder.

Locating and Opening a Data File

The data file that you need to edit is called Scenario.dat, and it's located in the following directory path:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Lost Technology\LostTechnology\script\official\

Right click "Scenario.dat" and choose "open with".

The file isn't encrypted, so you can open and read it with a standard text reader, like: Notepad, TexEdit, etc.

Once you open the file, the content should similar to this:

Enabling Hidden Heroes

There are five hidden heroes that you could unlock:
eratosthenes
tycho
innes
lovelace
keldysh

And to do so, you need to scroll down the data file until you see the "roam" section:

1. Add a comma sign " , " after "lenuta".
2. Press the "enter" key to add another line.
3. Type "eratosthenes,tycho,innes,lovelace,keldysh"

Congratulations, you just unlocked those hidden heroes. Here's a sneak peak of one of them.

Enabling Hidden Zones

There are six hidden zones that you could unlock:
z0s3
z0s9
z0s10
z3s6
z4s4
z6s4

And to do so, you need to scroll down the data file until you see the "showSpot" section:

1. Add "showSpot(z0s3)" between "showSpot(z0s2)" and "showSpot(z0s4)"
2. Remove "//" behind "showSpot(z0s9)"
3. Remove "//" behind "showSpot(z0s10)"

4. add "showSpot(z3s6) after "showSpot(z3s5)"
5. add "showSpot(z4s4) after "showSpot(z4s3)"
6. add "showSpot(z6s4) after "showSpot(z6s3)"

Congratulations, you just unlocked more zones to play with.

And there are still some more:

ludolf,hartwig,karsten,hihiro,masterchimera,mastermail,masterdragon

There's an extra hidden zone, but this one requires an extra step to implement.
The hidden zone is:

z13s8

First, you need to add them into the spot list, by simply adding them on

z13s1, z13s2, z13s3, z13s4, z13s5, z13s6, z13s7,

to

z13s1, z13s2, z13s3, z13s4, z13s5, z13s6, z13s7, z13s8,

and then add them in the showSpot list on

showSpot(z13s1)
showSpot(z13s2)
showSpot(z13s3)
showSpot(z13s4)
showSpot(z13s5)
showSpot(z13s6)
showSpot(z13s7)

to

showSpot(z13s1)
showSpot(z13s2)

Bit of a strange question, but using the reverse of this, IE adding two \\ marks to a zone, could it be removed from the map for Random Scenarios? IE permanently disabling the floating castle in random games so the AI doesn't spend 100 turns attacking it with pure land units and driving me insane.

I would like to add that there are a small number of other zones as well.
z0s1, z8s1, and z8s2
these are Undersea Shrine Borealis, Cape Umbra (, Land of Tempered Swords), and Shrine of Ice. the latter two are above Frost Volcano Ascraeus and have minor mentions to hihiro. the first one attaches to Malea Snow Plains, above the devils' Bonneville. Incidentally, my game didn't have Malea until I fixed it as well, so I don't know if that's a vanilla thing or just me.

There are plenty heroes with multiple versions, and ya, the masters are too op. They just slaughter whatever in their path.

There is also albert2, but he is "just" a level 80 albert. Those mastermonsters are ridicolous ^^

After delving into some files, I found more hidden heroes and a hidden area.

Ah yes and if you want to make them recruitable for other factions, add "angel,ank1,anm1,undead,ud_zombie1,ud_skeleton1,ud_ghost1" to the "staff=X" section of the other factions.

Good work :) As an addition, I guess you can also add undead heroes dimitrie, isidore, ileana, marius, ion and lenuta to the roaming heroes by adding them to the list.

Ya, she's really OP once she hit lvl 40. Her judgement tech can wipe out a dozen of platoons across the map, and not only that, she also has that mass buffing skill that can greatly accelerate her levelling process. I think they are reserving the angels for the Crime's campaign. It's written in one of the angel char bio which talked about how the angels always stop the Crime from taking over the world.

Have to say Lvl 40 Tychos angel lady can be even more OP than Arlette..... angels were probably disabled because they are much more powerful than every other race in game. Demons don't even stand a chance due to angels' having really high res values.
