Martini-Henry Mk.I

The main service rifle of the British Empire from 1871 to 1876, with some units remaining in service up until the end of the First World War. It replaced the Snider-Enfield rifle, and unlike it, the Martini-Henry was designed from the ground up to accept cased rounds, and featured a dropping-block action, which combined allowed it to have a longer range and faster rate of fire than it's predecessor. Despite being replaced with the Martini-Enfield and Lee-Metford rifles, and being completely removed from service by the end of WW1, it kept being used by guerrilla forces, and some were in use by Afghan tribesmen during the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan in the 1980s.

Lee-Enfield SMLE No.1 Mk.III

The most common version of the famous Lee-Enfield rifle, introduced in 1907, and used throughout both World Wars. It featured several improvements from earlier versions. Due to material shortages in WW1, the Mk.III* version was designed, removing the useless magazine cutoff feature, although rifles with said feature were put back in production after the war ended.
The SMLE featured many advantages over it's comtemporaries, including a shortened frame compared to average service rifles, a 10-round detachable magazine and the mostly useless magazine cutoff, which allowed one to block magazine feed to save bullets.
The SMLE remained the service rifle of the British Empire until the 1950s, where it was replaced by the L1A1, while remaining in service with various other countries for several years to come. Even today, sporting versions are popular amongst all kinds of shooters.

Farquhar-Hill M1918

A semi-automatic rifle developed in Britain in the 1910s. Like many early semi-automatic rifles, the Farquhar-Hill had many unusual features, including a unique recoil mechanism, the ability to operate in semi-auto or bolt-action and a magazine without feed lips which used a latch to keep rounds form falling out. After many revisions, the final version of the rifle was created, featuring an aluminium-covered barrel and an adjustable foregrip. This version was accepted for use by the Royal Air Force, which led the army to trial it and order of 100.000 rifles for troops on the ground, but the war ended before production could begin. In the end, only a handful of military and sporting rifles were produced.
