Brief explanation and lengthy soapboxing
Here is a single image guide, pieced together from over 30 screenshots.
The information that appears over an item when you hover the mouse has been added to the ample blank space next to it.

I made this, because I wanted a fast reference to these things, and I had several unanswered questions about some vehicles and equipment.
For the information that this may answer for you, or if it's just a handy reminder, I'm glad it is of use.
Some of this information and these questions may be on the minds of people reading about the game, considering their purchase, or perhaps may be new to the game, and need such a guide.

This is from the actual in-game information/help page. I cannot fathom why actual gameplay has this moved to a "mouse hover" text.

The questions still on my mind, that perhaps some people would wrongfully think is common sense, but the game really needs to answer:

General questions/requests:
01. Vehicles need to state what equipment (from the shop) is actually covered by the vehicle, and vice versa, equipment could list which vehicles it comes pre-installed on.
01a. Medical
For example, the Ambulance is "equipped with life saving tools." Wonderful. But it needs to say: "Includes First Aid Kit, Defibrillator, and Chest Compression System" for example. It would prevent all of us from buying unnecessary equipment for a vehicle that already has it covered.
Similarly, the Medical Transport, Copter, Car, and Bike make no mention about any equipment whatsoever.
01b. Fire Fighting
The Fire Truck is "Equipped for fire fighting" but does not say how. Do I still need any of the following: Extinguisher, Suit, Mask? Does equipped just mean there's a hose and water?
The Technical Truck...does that mean that it counts as the Technical Tool set? Can it fight fires at all, or do I need to equip my firefighters with extinguishers?
Fire Pickup only transports? Is there any technical aspect? Can it fight fires?
Helitack claims to fight fires, but how?
Field Hospital cannot transport any medic units, does not indicate it can perform any first aid (only that it makes first aid given more efficiently), and does not say if it is (or is not) capable of any firefighting or technical work.

02. Why can't some Equipment, such as the System Terminal be assigned to the vehicle, and not a Policeman? "Sorry, Bob, you only get a laptop and pistol, and I have a shotgun and vest. The mount on the dashboard is only for our Solitaire-playing laptop." Similarly, assigning firefighting equipment to the Firetruck and Ladder Truck.

03. Why is the Police Dog a piece of equipment? It either needs to be a Policeman slot, or just make a K-9 Unit car. "Kenny, your pistol only does 20 points of damage, but Rommel here bites for 30 *and* this bad boy assists in arrests and searches. Why do we even carry guns?"

04. For the equipment, if only one service can use it, please make the border to match. If it's an "anyone" use, then go with the slate grey or whatever off-white is being used.

05. Typos
Examples: Breathe is what you do to cycle air. Breath is air you can hold, or see in the winter air.
Useful is not usefull.

Sorry Bob you have only laptop - it's damned amazing! XDDD
About rommel funny too but I suppose they change dps on 0,33/sec so it's only half damage compare to pistol
Still useful for guys on sar helicopter with laptops only xd

The pickup trucks allow faster searches. After all, what's not to love with or without that HMG in the back?
Field Hospital improves the ability to administer first aid, which can be done by all personnel (in this case it helps the FD). Generally, it is deployed to supplement existing rescue efforts.
The Fire Truck and Technical truck have bonuses against fires and tech work, respectively. Everyone can kill fires or do tech work, but firefighters are the fastest units to get them done, and they can do so efficiently, even without equipment. I believe ambulance has a bonus to first aid, but not for the transport.

I bet the Helitack could be one of the three -
A big helicopter with a massive water tank. It's filled with some kind of retardant (water, specialized chemicals, etc) which it deploys onto burning areas.
A chopper that has a lot of rescue gear, most commonly used in inaccessible terrain comfortable for air vehicles, but not so much for grounded or aquatic ones.
A transport heli for smokejumpers. It drops the crew into the danger zone and then retrieves them when they are done taking out tiny forest fires.

Also driver slot is unnecessary. The crew member with the best driving skills will be at the wheel.

The medical transport is literally a larger ambulance, to my knowledge. The helicopter could use a better description. The medical car, as it says, is for less serious cases. It likely is a first aid kit and some more, for example if someone broke their leg they could get a splint if its not serious.

I haven't played long enough to get the field hospital so I'll have to get back to you on that, but my guess is that if firemen are the first respond then they can set it up to have the firemen give first aid with more skill without having a medic. That, or its a boost in case its a large area of a lot of people being hurt, and it can be deployed to help the medics and have other response units be of service as well. Could have medicine or something in there.

The other concerns you have I like very much and hope to have the developers see this. It could make it a bit more interesting to have to restock firefighting equipment on your firetruck in a harder gamemode. (2/2)

A fire fighting helicopter can use two different things to take out fires. One is where it carries a huge bucket of water, primarily from the ocean in the case of California, and the other where it puts down essentially soil or other fire dampener to put it out. I don't know any other way a 'helitack' can put out fires than these two ways.

The technical truck is generally used for those fireman incidents where there's exposed wires, fallen trees, debris, etc. The fire pickup is to get to the location faster. For example, you're at a health call and there's also debris to remove. Your firemen can get there faster in the pickup while also having the tools assigned to them, and also fire extinguishers for smaller fires that do not require the attention of a firetruck. (1/2)

@MGMax The unmarked car is faster and catches more reports (the thing other than calls) but more costly than a regular police car.

There is no equipment on the vehicles as such. Instead, each one *can* give a stat boost. For example hire a brand new firefighter and check their stats.

If you assign them to a full-up fire truck, they gain a +0.5 to the firs stat, whereas assigning them to a technical truck instead improves their tech stat by 0.5 instead.

Unmarked pol. car is faster than normal one with same slots - so shud we just use that? Also is it better to just have multiple cars - vans even necessary? Vehicles should have a driver slot or all stats seem to stack...

spot on m8. The dev needs to be aware and add these features!
