during the first encounter you will see the pao kai fly above you and it will destroy the roof.
this fight can really take up to one hour if you don't know what to do (like me the first time i played) and if you know where to go and what to do it can truly (and i tested it) take up to 15 or 10 seconds.

1) the first thing you have to do when you can see the pao kai is to shoot arrows against him (in this case it would be good if you already got the infinite quiver)

2) when you get his useless attention you will have to run back to the door you came in.

3) obviously run inside and when the pao kai gets his head inside the door use the lever to your right to shut the gate and behead the pao kai.

and that's it, this is how you kill the pao kai during the first battle.

ok, first of all when you meet this big guy he will simply fly above you.

1) when he comes to you and you reach the end of the stairs look behind you and get inside the stone building where you can find stairs to your right.

2) once you get up you'll find a ballista ready to be used.

3) use the ballista (with the right mouse button) and keep shooting the pao kai with it's "darts" or bullets, and after a bit he will eventually die and fall down to his death.

NOTE: the pao kai can still shoot you and damage or kill you when you're using the ballista, so when you get to half of the healthbar go back to the stairs heal up and then go back to shoot him with the ballista.
