Introduction
Even though I feel like nobody will read or notice this due to the small player base of Guns and Robots (G&R), I feel like this is needed. I am a huge fan of this game and I want more people to play it. This guide aims to help new players to get into the game and advanced players to stay in it and enjoy this masterpiece of a game.

To get my own robot near to perfection, I spent many hours trying things out and making research. In this guide, I share what I experienced and hope it will help you.

Have fun!

Enlish is only my 2nd language so please excuse any misstakes in terms of grammar and writing.
THE Best Weapon In Guns & Robots

First of all:
ALL WEAPONS ARE GOOD AND THE GAME IS BALANCED!
THERE IS NO "BEST WEAPON", ALL WEAPONS ARE ONLY AS GOOD AS THE PLAYER IS!

Though, that being said, in the following there are some facts you might want to know about the weapons.

Light Weapons

Medium Weapons

Heavy Weapons

DMG = Damage
ROF = Rate of fire
TOTAL = DPS = Damage per second
ACC = Accuracy
MS = Missile speed
+ = Good
o = Acceptable
- = Bad
(x5) = The weapon shoots 5 missiles per shot
(+5) = The weapon does 5 splash damage

Missile speed and +, - and o are based on my own experience!

Conclusion
To kill a robot you have to destroy the body, therefore only the single target damage matters for us looking at the DPS.
So if you look for the weapon with the highest damage you can deal agains the body, in the long run -as silly as it may seem- the Dragonbelch is the weapon of choice.

However, before you focus on the numbers too much, every weapon has it advantages and disadvantages and even 100 damage do not help you if you miss your target.
What you need to know about weapons
From what I experienced, it does not matter what kind of weapon (light, medium, heavy) you use, everything that matters is that you can hit targets with it. Therefore, the most important thing might be the accuracy, the missile speed and the splash range. Just test the weapons you find interesting and figure out which one you rule at. Every weapon is absolutely effectful and can be played in master league, so do not worry if you are the only one using it: as long as you feel like you are dealing damage with it you are fine.

NEVER UPGRADE A WEAPON BEFORE YOU ARE SURE THAT IT FITS YOU AND YOUR PLAYSTYLE!!

Go ahead and test it in playmode a few times to see how you like the weapon. Don't worry about spending gold for items, you will get enough in one match to buy an entire new weapon arsenal.

A big decision you have to make is whether you want to play with 2 or 4 weapons.

2 Weapons
Advantage
-You are fast
--> good at winning CTB and PTB
-You are harder to hit (smaller body + speed)
Disadvantage
-You have less firepower
-You may be easier to kill --> less protection from your weapons

4 Weapons
Advantage
-You deal twice as much damage
-Your body might be better protected
Disadvantage
-You are slow
--> bad at winning CTB and PTB
-You are an easy target

CTB = Capture The Batteries
PTB = Plant The Bomb
What you need to know about bodies
Bodies are the most important part of your robot. If your body gets destroyed, you are dead. Therefore, the right choice of body is very importent.

Things to consider

First of all, do you run 2 or 4 weapons?

Running 4 weapons, the Ghast (picture on the right hand side) is your body of choice, simply because it is the body with the smallest weight and it is much harder to hit than Spitfire (the other 4 weapon body). There is really not much to talk about, no matter if what weapons you have, if their total number is 4, you go with Ghast. Well, of course you may go for another body if you like them more, for example in terms of appearance, but looking at their weight, durability and hitbox, they are just garbage compared to Ghast.

The decision is much harder if you have only 2 weapons. Now, it really depends on your style of play.

Going for a fast robot, you want to take a light body. From what I experienced, these are the best bodies, because durability does not really matter that much. It is more importent to not get hit at the first place, therefore, what matters is speed combined with a small hitbox, making it hard for others to hit you. In a nutshell: light bodies.

Personally, I like Shinoby and Firefighter, because they have a small weight, small hitbox and look cool.

If you have the feeling that it is too easy to kill you, you could consider a medium body.

Medium bodies have a much higher weight than light ones, decreasing your movement speed greatly. However, some grant a huge boost of durability. A common choise is Elektra, because it has a lot of health compared to the weight. However, taking Elektra, you should keep in mind that she is very big and thus an easy target.

If you want to be very tanky, obviously you will pick a heavy body. Mantis or Chopper are your tanky bodies of choice, they have a lot of durability. However I would not suggest taking these, speed / a small hitbox is more important than durability.

In the following there is a list comparing durability and weight.
The list does not contain information about the hitbox!

Bodies listed with (4W) have slots for 4 weapons, the others have slots for 2.

Looking at your battery, you want to take the one that fits your style of play. If you like shooting over a long period of time, take the Master Battery, if you often do small pauses between your shots, go with something that has more energy regeneration.

Try everything and see what you like most.

Personally, I use the Master Battery most of the time.
What you need to know about chassis
Who would have guessed, picking the right chassis is very importent!

Things to take into consideration looking for the perfect chassis are speed, weight, terrain penalty negation and weight limit.

Beforehand, engines should always be used to adjust your chassis to be perfectly adapted for your robots weight.

The most valuable engine is probably the Yak (the one giving you +40 weight limit, not because of stats but of the value it has with some chassis), but all in all every engine is super balanced. They are important to gain that perfect synergy between weight and weight limit and you should not pick the Yak if it does not help you to achieve this goal.

In the following there is a list outlining the statistics of all chassis. Maybe it will help you to find the best chassis for your Robot. All chassis have advantages and disadvantages, there is no "best". In general, you want to have the chassis with the most possible speed and an acceptable terrain penalty negation.

DUR = Durability
WL = Weight limit
TPN = Terrain penalty negation
+ = Good
o = Acceptable
- = Bad

General tip: No matter what chassis you have, keep moving.

What you need to know about devices
Devices are special tools you can use to get an advantage in battle, but if you are new, maybe you should not use them already.

Things you should know about devices:
Devices need "Device charges" which can only be earned in battle.
--> You can not buy them in the shop and need luck to get the right charges if you do not have enough already.

Devices raise the rank of your robot, matching you with stronger enemies.
--> Devices are not that useful for lower level robots. Weapon upgrades are more important.

However, if you want to use a Device, feel free to do so. Every device is fun to use and they are all very effectful.

In theory, fast robots have synergy with Camo-Cloak, medium robots with Mines and slow robots with Turrets and Deployable Shield, while everyone can make solid use out of Radar and Sky Spy, but actually, every robot can efficiently use any device.

You can see Mines on the ground and shoot them, so that they do not have any effect anymore.

Also, if you are planning to get a device fully upgraded, start in time. Despite the fact that the highest level for a device is level 3, it takes some time to upgrade them (3 days from level 2 to 3).
General tips & tricks

  • Always test your weapons to see if they fit you before you upgrade them.
  • Focus on upgrading weapons, upgrading heads is absolutely unnecessary.
  • Use your Sparks to buy Armaments (the green components to upgrade weapons) or to buy new slots.
  • You can choose a quantity buying upgrade components. The more you buy the more value you get, so save your Sparks to buy 1 big pack of components.
  • Do not waste them for Box Cutters, Portraits or Accessories unless you are 100% you won't need them ever again.
  • Never exchange Sparks for Gold, soo much antivalue!
  • Sometimes, it is better to overstep the weight limit than having lots of space.
  • Always have Auto Repair on. You can activate it by clicking at the top right corner of SUPPLY -->repair.
  • When you are in the garage, you can give your robot a name clicking at the name above the damage bar at the left side of the screen.
  • A lot of enemies are bots (AI). Every rank has it's own bots with unique names such as Kovalsky99 or Peace_in_the_worl
  • Click on SUPPLY and Consumables to equip consumables. It cost 120 Gold per consumable and 1 charge.
  • From time to time the game crashes. That is normal, just restart and continue playing with another robot.
  • Do not play what you think is op but what you enjoy playing.
  • Go to STATS, then Achievements to see what achievements you do not have.
  • Try to finish achievements to get the rewards. Achievments that fetch you Sparks are very valuable.
  • Try to join an active guild to get valuable boosts.
  • Enjoy the game.
  • Be kind.
  • Share this amazing game with your friends so that we can raise it from the death.
